That's because it's a new version of the song. It's no different than the other "Taylor's Version" versions charting. I find the recurrent rules to be pretty clear on the whole. To me, it’s the same song. The Taylor Versions are just extensions of the same song, same as with BTS putting out 37 versions of Butter, etc. Billboard is arbitrary with this too (as we saw with Donda, when all the 2-part songs were combined, except for Jail, whose Part I and II were counted separately). The two Christmas Tree Farms have different vocal recordings along with the instrumentals. Billboard’s rules in regards to rerecords from distinct runs is consistent. If you paid attention to Hot Holiday Songs, you’d notice that they’re separate entries.

It's a new music video for a song that was released exactly a decade ago to celebrate its anniversary. I doubt he's going to promote it as a new single. Then again, in this era of songs blowing up years after their release, anything is possible.

The title track is one of my favorites from that mixtape, so it's nice to see it got this video.

And the rest is history. *Olivia tweet* LOL remember when I said this in the 1/23/2021 thread, good times In a similar vein, it's crazy to think there was time that Levitating was nothing more than another track in Dua's album - we weren't even sure it would chart on the Hot 100 at all. If you told me in September last year that it would go on to be THE song of the year I'd be dumbfounded

This is the Weeknd we're talking about. Another week, another new single to promote. Echoes of Silence is more than 10 years old and it's been available on streaming services since the Trilogy remasters were released (though the original mix for all of Echoes of Silence was only recently posted) And before someone's like "wHaT ABouT tAyLoR'S rE-REcoRdInGs?!?" Those re-recordings have vocals and tweaked production original to this year. The original mixes aren't not, they just haven't been on Spotify until now.

LOL remember when I said this in the 1/23/2021 thread, good times I just went back to look at that thread and it’s really fun to see all the reactions as they were happening. It’s crazy to think she broke the all time Spotify record with her debut single and that didn’t even end up being the most successful song she released last year ☠️

Didn't Weeknd release a video for Die For You on Starboy's 5th anniverary last month too? Obviously he's just celebrating rather than trying to make old material take off. It's nice and more artists should try to acknowledge their past releases in a similar manner.

How hard could Atlantic be cooking up Roddy Ricch's numbers right now? It's Wednesday and HDD still hasn't posted a single thing about his album and it's first week projections.

^We might not be getting a chart this week. Or next...
HITS may be on vacation.
EDIT:
I looked at last year's HITS threads. Christmas and NYE were on Fridays.
They gave estimates for new albums but only have us the Top 3 of their chart.

most horrifying thing about that chart is seeing that Maroon 5 have been popular for that long Oh, the terror..... If that's what you honed in on from that list, girl you're just looking for ways to be horrified by them. yes

Here I am, the guy in the middle, who thinks that abcdefu is fine and most of its problems stem from Gayle needing a bit more time to develop her voice and personality.
Now if you want a current TikTok hit from a teenage girl that deserves my scorn, try Always Been You by Jessie Murph. We really don't need Camila Cabello knock-offs to become a thing, guys...

I will gladly and easily take any Camila Cabello knock-offs instead of mediocrity like "abcdefu", And the main difference here is that Jessie Murph is actually talented, While Gayle just hasn't yet shown that she is talented. Heck It's no wonder that a number of Music Critics from older generations such as Millennials criticize a certain number of today's Mainstream Music.
