"Miss Me More" being out before the top 5 already makes this whole rankdown NULL and VOID

Yeah no I can't say for myself that Brett Eldredge's music in comparison is why "Raymond" is so amazing as Brett Eldredge's last two albums are really great imo. You were actually the main reason I left a 5% margin of uncertainty Um people REALLY are sleeping on Sunday Drive around here...

I mean say what you will about his first three albums because I can totally see the mediocrity but Sunday Drive and Songs About You are massive improvements!

Wasting All These Tears is leaving way too early. I really like Cassadee, and I love her materials from Frame by Frame in general, but WATT is particularly awesome. I love her vocal, and damn, that chorus melody is so strong!

50. Forgot to make a remark on the wrong song name in a previous version of the post lol. Anyway a good place for this song to go. Appreciate the party song on the surface that has a sad premise, but it is not smart enough to warrant a position in the decade best-of list. 49. Meh pop song with a cheesy build to drop/chorus 48. Not bboat completely missed the specifics of this song being an ode to a son dead in Vietnam War and calling this "generic"...This literally is not just another "dementia"/"lonely elder" song, so I am pleasantly surprised Pulse made some right decisions about male country music for once. 47. This is the second weakest ML song in this rankdown. 46. An uplifting ditty. 45. This burned quite hard for me. Still like the way the lyrics are written though and don't think this is queer-bait by any means. 44. A 100 for this?! The twist of how she sings the title is still quite refreshing. 43. David Nail and Sarah Buxton have nice chemistry. 42. Caitlyn Smith outsings. Her version is still great.
41. Never been big on this song. The melody is too subdued but this being a country radio #1 is a feat.

This is true, they are massive improvements! They are both pretty great albums....by Brett Eldredge's standards Brett Eldredge's albums have gotten better recently, but his best remains his unreleased first album, One Way Ticket Granted, those who didn't like "Raymond" might not think so, but I liked Brett much better with Byron Gallimore producing him. That 00's contemporary style really suited his voice quite well, but he still stood out because his voice is different.

I like how the best rankdown closeness so far is nearly 20. This truly is one of the messiest rankdowns ever made!

I haven't lost a single top10 yet, so I really can't complain about this top50. Not sure if I have taste or if I'm just too basic lol Well there ya go! Now you're a little less basic!!! LOL I have to say I didn't think "Girl Crush" would be the first one to go... I'd have bet on "Wasting All These Tears", which unfortunately left shortly after. at least I lost 3 bottom 10s too! now I don't have any of those still in it. my #90 is still there though, and I'm sure it will last for a while... could even be a winner contender

I love "Wasting All These Tears" so much, I wish Cassadee had more strong singles like that one. And I agree her vocals are a big part of why the song is that good.

I never liked "Girl Crush" until Harry Styles' cover.

You were actually the main reason I left a 5% margin of uncertainty Um people REALLY are sleeping on Sunday Drive around here... The only sleeping involved with Brett Eldredge is the involuntary nap I slip into when his music plays. 😴 And then jolted awake by his other go-to style of over-singing/screaming every note as loud as he can ala Drunk on Your Love, Don't Ya, or Somethin' I'm Good At42. Caitlyn Smith outsings. Her version is still great. me looking for where Caitlyn suddenly gained the pipes to outsing Cassadee

So that pretty much automatically renders all "outsinging" arguments null and void

42. Caitlyn Smith outsings. Her version is still great. I rarely enjoy the stripped/acoustic version of songs, so not surprised to say this, but after listening to this version, I must say the powerful production is playing an essential role in WATT for me. Caitlyn sang it well, and she has a great voice in general, but this sounds so underwhelming without the original production.

Hi guys! Sorry for yet another delay! I wanted to finish this last week, but I was doing an AP Environmental Science training course, which meant I was literally on Zoom from 7:30-3:30 every day last week...so by the time it was done I didn't have much energy left for online shenanigans. I have been invited to go camping with my family at the last minute for the 4th, so I will be out of town the next few days! I do plan to finish this when I get back, however :)
I hope you all have a safe and fun holiday (and for those for whom it is not a holiday, I hope it is safe and fun anyway!)

We kick off the top 40 with Cam's cheating song from the perspective of the other-woman, where she comes clean to the wife of her boyfriend as soon as she realizes what is happening! The lyrics offer an awesome perspective, the chorus is singsongy and will get stuck in your head, and Cam's vocals are in top form here (somehow almost serving the combined best parts of Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood simultaneously, in my opinion!) I have overplayed it for myself a tad the last couple years, hence only scoring a 75 on my list, but it is still a very good song imo!

I believe this might be the first song we've seen without any bottom-10 ranks!!! Way to go, Chris!!! "Tomorrow" is one of his best vocal performances, with a killer melody that is just so perfect for his voice. I will never get sick of this one

"Tomorrow" is Chris Young's best song, PERIOD!
I always wish I liked "Burning Man" more, but for whatever reason, it doesn't really work for me.

I still can't believe "Burning Man" won the 2018 rankdown! Not due to a lack of quality by any means, but moreso due to a lack of Pulse Hype. I feel like most winners end up being somewhat predictable, especially in modern years where the pool of quality songs is significantly smaller than it was in the '90s and '00s, but this one snuck in for a pretty easy victory, proving that nothing is ever as predictable as it might seem! And thank goodness for that, because if not for Dierks, "Tequila" would have been our #1 And you can see by the last-place performance in this rankdown how disappointed we would have been with ourselves after that...

"Little White Church" is just a foot-stomping good time! Easily one of my favorites from Little Big Town, strictly for the infectious energy!
