It's honestly kind of hard to gauge what the interest will be for an US tour. There are multiple examples of artists who don't necessarily sell well album-wise but manage to still do well touring-wise so the reception to Radical Optimism may not be too much of a hindrance. Granted, most acts that fall into that category are veteran artists, but one thing that might help her is the positive reception people and reviewers had to the Future Nostalgia Tour. She definitely has a stronger base in other places (like Europe) but this album has generally under-performed in pretty much every market, even ones where's she bigger than in the US. Yet despite this, she's managed to do quite well tour-wise so far. I'm honestly surprised at how well she seems to be selling tickets for the Asian leg of the tour. For example, she sold out both arena dates in Tokyo despite not seemingly being as big there as she is in other places, even in comparison to the US.That’s not accurate. First of all, the Japanese market is one of the most challenging for any non-domestic artist to break into. However, Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia performed quite well by Western standards in Japan. Both "Levitating" and "Don’t Start Now" were certified singles there, a rare achievement for Western artists. This shows that she does have a market in Japan, South Korea, and even China, though the exact numbers might not be publicly available. The fact that Dua sold out arena dates in these countries further validates her presence and popularity in these markets. Ok? I don't see how that changes what I said (unless I'm missing something, feel free to correct me). Even if her popularity is impressive for a non-native artist (which I never disputed), she's still bigger in the US in comparison to Japan if going by sales/certifications. You explained why that's the case (that it's hard for non-native acts to penetrate the Japanese music market) but it doesn't change the fact that she is bigger in the US if going by the numbers. That said, I appreciate the information you provided and the insight you gave into those markets. If her level of popularity in markets like Japan is good enough to help her sell out arenas, than it should hopefully bode well for a US tour.

On another note......I wonder if we will ever get her collab with FKA Twigs. It has been years since we heard about it.

I'm not surprised that this happened in the US (on both Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200) and Radical Optimism is also on course of following the same faith in the UK, which will be the lowest point of her career in my opinion. However, it should be taken into consideration that her self-titled's chart run was supported by "New Rules" and "IDGAF" (being both of them post-album single releases) and its re-release, while Future Nostalgia's chart run was supported by "Break My Heart" and then "Levitating", following by its re-release which gave the album a 'new life'. That said, I think that her new management team (which is handled by her dad) thought that "Illusion" could carry the album's release when it was obvious that it wasn't going to happen weeks later and they should have had a new single ready to go, especially when she headlined Glastonbury back in June and used that gig as a tool to support it. A wasted opportunity to be honest.

I feel they'll (Dua and Team) regroup even better after the performance and critiques of this era after coming off of a huge one.

We finally have a new single. I'm aware it's a French single for now, but I assume it's going to be WW. However, I'm wondering what happened to "Falling Forever", unless the Hungarian reports got it wrong with the song, I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder if it’s gonna be another brat remix or a whole new song. I’m cautiously optimistic because I’ve loved Dua and Troye for years and I became obsessed with Charli’s brat album this summer.

The current guess and likely track if its a remix is Talk Talk, "talk to me in Spanish", Dua Lipa voice note in Spanish, it adds up the most so far.
Beyond Talk Talk I don't see any other track that Dua Lipa would fit unless the song got reworked a lot

This is the first ever collaboration between Dua and Charli, right? (Minus that "IDGAF" performance at BBC.)

This would also be correct, they are longtime friends but have yet to be on an official song together + Dua Lipa collabs are rare to come by thus far (and she has multiple canned female collabs notably between If It Ain't Me [Normani], Bad To You [Ariana], Why Don't You Love Me [FKA twigs], etc). So we are definitely long overdue for this pairing

"Talk Talk" featuring Troye Sivan out tomorrow. Dua isn't credited, but Charlotte confirmed that she's involved speaking French and Spanish in the song.

I honestly would not be surprised if she had less US dates, if many at all, for the tour this go round, given how things have transpired on the charts here in the States. I’d love to be wrong and be able to see her somewhere close but I’m willing to bet she skips over most of the Midwest all together and rolls through primarily the major markets (NY, LA, Chicago, Denver, somewhere in Texas, Miami / Tampa), choosing to focus mainly internationally. Called it. Guess I'll be sticking with YouTube and TikTok vids this tour.

So bizarre. They were so clearly banking on a sustained performance. NOPE.

Ugh that sucks she is only going to 9 cities in the US and none of them are near to me. Chicago or New York would be the closest. But even then, Toronto is closer to me than any US show.

I’m sure you all see the fine print at the bottom “more dates to be announced”. Needless to say I’m shocked she isn’t on tour at the moment. I had it at the back of my mind that she might have new music ready to go by the time her tour starts next year but her naming the tour radical optimism tour makes that look less likely.

It's expensive to do an album campaign for an artist of her caliber. Touring is necessary to recover the investment.

Those “more dates to be announced” are most likely Latin American dates or additional dates for already announced cities.

The timing of this announcement seems off. Why announce it the day after the VMAs when she neither performed nor even attended the show, and the attention is currently on those that did? She should have announced things after the positive reception to Glastonbury but instead it was just crickets from her and her team.

I wonder if they plan to release a deluxe edition with a new single since the tour isn’t until next year.

Nothing about this makes sense. Why wasn't she performing at the VMAs to promote her album and her upcoming tour? Why isn't she touring now instead of announcing a 2025 tour to promote an album that no one will remember by then?

Some possible clarification about why the delay in announcing touring dates from someone part of Dua Lipa Hungary:
Looks like I might not have been far off when I said this album felt like it was made by a veteran artist taking a victory lap. If true, she and her team had some seriously wild expectations after just one big worldwide era. She had just started to truly break through in the US with FN and they thought she could sell out SoFi?
The way she thought she could pull a Beyonce after just one era and sell out stadiums with little album promo while also pulling a reverse-Beyonce and hiring her (incompetent) father.
