I swear I think Out of That Truck, Give Her That, Drunk and Hungover & maybe Damage could ALL be singles. They're soooo good. TMO is great too, but wouldn't work as single IMO

Damage and Drunk and Hungover are easily the best deluxe tracks (along with Give Her That)! Listened to Damage for the first time before I went to bed and it just blew me away, even though I wish there was a second part of the chorus or an extended version of the chorus at the end. The song felt quite short, but it’s still a great song. Probably in my Top 10 Carrie songs.

Just heard Damage in full. Anyone else getting Chaser vibes? Love it. Gave me Chaser (and to a lesser extent Relapse) vibes from the very first listen. Chaser is one of my favourite Carrie songs, so it’s a great thing. This is the sound I want from Carrie when I think of genre-blending. Would have fit right in on Storyteller.

I can see why these tracks were left off of the standard edition, but I think they are nice additions to the album. While I like "Damage" overall, it feels a little lackluster to me. Hopefully it grows overtime.

Cody Johnson just announced that his next album, which includes his duet with Carrie, will release on November 3rd!

I think that D&H kind of demonstrates what has been lacking in Carrie's music as of late - for me, of course. I honestly think that lack of songs not written by Carrie has been an issue. D&H is just so instant! It's not that I don't think that Carrie should be deeply involved in writing and producing, it's just that she's always had a great balance between co-writes and non co-writes...it definitely feels as though that balance is off.

Cody's album is supposedly a two part album. With part 2 out in early 2024. If I were to guess the duet will be the lead to part 2, out next year.

Just heard Damage in full. Anyone else getting Chaser vibes? Love it. That was my first thought. As daddy pointed out, this would’ve fit right at home on Storyteller, so for those of y’all who have been missing her, you’ll absolutely love this! I personally continue to stan hard for Carrie’s music even after the move to Capitol Nashville. I think the single choices and weak debut last June and whatnot are what’s stained the perception of the era for some (the music is much different than Sony, so I fully see people who are still quite stunned and feel Kacey’d!!), because D&R still happens to be right up there WITH Storyteller (with an honorable mention to My Savior) as my favorite Carrie album. D&R is just hit after hit, regardless of any radio choices or success. “Damage” is far and away the best song across the entire album however, and if it were on Storyteller, she’d have likely been forced to give it over to HAC/CHR for crossover airplay. I’m hoping OOTT starts gaining waves at radio, so that we can get “Damage” out there and let it smash before the Cody duet (highly unlikely at this point, I know).

Super tentative to change but I’d rank the new songs after the first day:
Damage Give Her That OOTT
Drunk & Hungover
Take Me Out
A strong set overall and absolutely love the first 3. I’d say I prefer these three to at least half the original album. I see a lot of fans don’t seem to care much for GHT, but I’m still absolutely loving it. D&H hasn’t totally clicked with me yet, but I see a lot of listeners seem to love it. TMO is fine, she sounds so sincere, but I kinda find it boring.
If I had to make an album of 12 songs from all these I’d choose in no particular order:
Denim & Rhinestones Velvet Heartbreak Ghost Story Hate My Heart Burn Pink Champagne Poor Everybody Else She Don’t Know Out Of That Truck Give Her That Drunk and Hungover Damage

First, so grateful for the free shipping on her webstore this weekend. Took advantage & bought the CD today.
Second, D&H has such a beautiful melody between the production & her lovely vocals. While Damage brings back vocal acrobatic Carrie from cry pretty combined with the soft rock aspect of storyteller. What a gorgeous combination, the song is so memorable.
Third, I’ve seen pics of the deluxe lyric booklet & this album remains her most beautiful booklet so far, appreciate how stunning it is.

I completely agree with this. Carrie is a talented writer, as demonstrated by her hits like "Cowboy Casanova," "Good Girl," "Two Black Cadillacs," "Something in the Water," "Cry Pretty," and more. However, some of her most iconic and instantly recognizable hits were not co-written by her; these include "Church Bells," "Blown Away," "Jesus, Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats," and "Hallelujah." I hope she continues to contribute, even if it’s just conceptually or for production and harmonies. I really like the production of her songs. But I also believe that taking her time to collaborate with great writers to create classics is something we can still look forward to from her.

So going through the Deluxe for a day I think the two ballads may be my favorite followed by OOTT, then Damage, then TMO
I still think this day in streaming all albums should at least be 15 tracks, but If i were going to use the original number of tracks and see if/where these fit in this is how my perfect album would go lol This isn't a track listing, just throwing the songs I'd keep from both up.
1.Velvet Heartbreak 2. Hate My Heart 3. Burn 4. Crazy Angels 5. Pink Champagne 6. Out Of That Truck 7. Give Her That 8. Take Me Out 9. Drunk & Hungover 10. Damage 11. She Don't Know 12. Denim & Rhinestones

Anyone thinks the melody of the first line of D&H sounds extremely similar to the first line of Velvet Heartbreak?
I almost expected her to launch into "he'll get you hangin' on every little stitch" lol.

I can kind of see why the new songs didn’t make the original album, but leaving out Drunk and Hungover and Damage was a massive miscalculation. I’m kind of at the point where most of the deluxe tracks are vibing with me more than the OG songs.

I need Carrie/her team to explain to me why the deluxe tracks are better than every song on the standard album? As far as I'm concerned, this album is actually an EP consisting of:
Out of That Truck Give Her That Drunk & Hungover Damage(!!!) Take Me Out (which has grown on me quite a bit actually) Burn
I'm sorry but these 6 songs are the best songs Carrie has put out since the Cry Pretty album.
Special shoutout to "Damage", which is my favorite Carrie song since at least "Low" and possibly going as far back as "Relapse".
"Burn" is on here because it's the only song from the standard version I still listen to tbh.

Ssshhh... gotta simmer down the fan love for Damage.
Her team is watching. All these excitement will trigger them to banish it to the land where Chaser, Relapse and Burn reside.

Appreciate how these deluxe tracks all serve a purpose & enhance the album quality. They fit in perfectly with the standard tracks in terms of sound, instead of feeling like they don’t belong. These aren’t songs just thrown in to fill space. Rare case for a deluxe edition, kudos to Carrie & her creative team.

Damage sounds like it could fit on ANY of Carrie’s albums. It’s starting to stick out as my favorite of the new bunch. It’s catchy and the build in the chorus is addicting; my steering wheel becomes a drum set when this song comes on!

The bonus tracks really add to the album. I especially love that she fixed the lack of ballads on the original album.

I still really like D&R and think it had potential. Potential that she and her team simply don't have the imagination or ambition to deliver on, which is unfortunate. Oh well!
I'm liking the new deluxe tracks. I wish she had saved these for the next album though, that whole block of songs belong on an album with more contemporary country sounds. Whereas D&R felt like a shinier pop country experiment. But this might signify where she's going next.

As long as she’s affiliated with the NFL, I won’t… I think your best bet is if they do a country type thing (similar to the hip-hop one a couple years ago). I feel like if they do that she's a shoe in to perform. But headlining? I would put it at less than 1%.
