Okay, yeah, I give in. D&R should have been the first single. This song is fantastic.
Still holding out hope the “sneak peek” of the track list means there’s another half to it, but also not expecting it. After all this time, I’d love more than 12 CU songs. 🙏🏽

Ok, the more I listen to D & R, the more I think it should’ve been the lead single. It is a summer bop. I don’t know what the people at Capitol were thinking tbh. They have mismanaged both eras so far with CP and now this. GS should not have been the lead single, especially if they were planning on building off of the momentum of IIDLY.

I really loved the melodies and vocals... lyrics-wise, it has got to be her worst song ever... it's so bad, generic and not cute, I'm surprised it came from a 39 year old woman with 17 years experience. Gives me Kelly Clarkson's Einstein vibes... and to name the album after that song, dear god Carrie, please evolve!! I'm seeing artists almost half her age releasing much better lyrics without co-writers... I honestly wish she released the song, switching the lyrics to the phone book or tofurky recipe.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to Poor Everybody Else... sounds like a solid one!!

"D&R" sounds very similar sonically to "End Up with You." I like it, personally, although I'm not sure if I agree that it would've been a good single choice. I'm really uncertain if that sound would do well for her or not at radio.

As much as I love Hillary Lindsey co-writes in the past, I am ready for Carrie to move on. Not going to happen, I am sure..

So i checked my target app as i was curious what was in store for a target exclusive and its looks like we are getting….. stickers. 🥴
Come on Carrie, throw a few extra songs on that puppy and make it worthwhile!!!
I’ll still be buying it at Target though as at least i know i’ll be able to buy it there on release day. In fact, i just requested that day off so i can go to the store early in the morning to get my copy.

I am in love with D&R. I’ve always wanted to hear her try this sound out and I think it’s the most “pop” song she’s ever done. It really says a lot that the lyrics are completely cringe worthy but I couldn’t even care less because the melody is so damn good and this sound fits her like a glove.

The CD has been up for preorder on Amazon since yesterday but no sign of the vinyl. I guess it will probably arrive a few weeks later like the My Gift and My Savior vinyls.

Carrie wins a Grammy with a gospel album. Country music quits nominating her for the best female vocalist. She says she’s getting out of the way of all the influences in side her. GS is a fun song. More fun if you think she’s singing to the big wigs of the cma 😎
