Please tell me she's doing a tour and not just a Vegas residency for this album

Carrie don't lip sync she sings live and to people saying this performance shoulda be on the Grammys we get what we get and Carrie probably didn't want to do it until the CMTs.
Congrats to Carrie on her 25th CMT and to Jason Aldean for winning his first CMT in the Video of the year category.
Congrats to George Strait on winning his first CMT and Maddie and Tae winning their first CMT.

I’m glad she didn’t do this on the GRAMMYs. I’m already seeing a self-indulgent deluge of tweets about how “P!nk did it first/better.” Which, I mean…yeah no shit. No reason to discredit what CU did tonight.
Really proud of her for stepping outside of the box and doing something that very few artists would have the guts to do, and doing it so dang well. 100x stronger and more engaging than her performance last weekend.
May tonight be IIDLY’s final bow so we can rid ourselves of constant Aldean presence. It can lose at the CMAs in November, idc idc idc.

Also, Carrie’s slot at the GRAMMYs was around 10:30pm ET… on a Sunday. This performance aired on a Monday night during the prime-time 8pm ET hour. I’d argue this slot provided a comparable, if not larger audience, and a more relevant audience at that (meaning an audience more likely to take to what Carrie has to offer).
This performance elevated GS for me, I hope this performance blows up and gains some traction for the single, but for the spectacle alone I’m thankful GS was chosen as a single. Carrie’s vision for the song is clear as day now, I get it. I’m floored. This era is shaping up to be something very special!!!

Yesssss!!! I’d like to think my near-1,000 votes today helped get Carrie the win, but c’mon this is her 10th one, we know no one ever comes close to our voting!!! We’re absolute beasts at voting and always have been lol since 2005!!! So crazy!

Entertainer of the year. We aren't worthy. This was much better than the Grammy performance, but I find Carrie always improves after a performance or two. The look, the vocal, the aerial aspect were all fire. Seeing her continue to push herself and try new things is so exciting as a fan since the beginning. She's come SO far.

Holy sh*t. Her greatest performance ever? That was INCREDIBLE! 😱
The look was perfect and stunning too! Damn, Carrie knows how to sell a song. It was clearly an effective performance since it made me warm up to the song a bit more.
I was scared she was going to lose balance while trying to hold her mic in one hand!

The haters and live-vocal deniers are out in full force posting wherever the performance/reel is, and I’m here for it. Get that publicity, Carrie!
You know it’s good when the haters crawl out of their holes to say something!

Her voice was a little gravely on the word "stairs" in the first verse which proved to me she was singing live. She is just that fantastic.

The greatest in history. How do you DO that while singing LIVE?! That was beyond unreal. Entertainer of the Year. Honestly, if this doesn’t win her EOTY, I don’t know what will. I don’t know many artists in general that could do what she just did. Suspended in the air in a trapeze and sounding almost exactly like the recording. FLAWLESS.

You know it’s good when the haters crawl out of their holes to say something! Yes, give her that free publicity. I think she’s in for an era up against this kind of thing. I feel like she’s gained plenty of haters over the past year for her husband’s views and liking a couple tweets (sorry for bringing this up we really don’t need to discuss this further). I’m sure she’ll continue to ignore the hate and continue to make music she loves and deliver excellent performances. Haters can keep wasting their breath on her vocals. It’s such a losing battle.

I LOVE Carrie and she's without a doubt an incredible live performer. That said, this performance was at the very least pitch corrected post-performance.

Agreed. Amazing performance, but for sure pitch correction was used. You can tell. It doesn’t take away from the performance, it’s just the truth.

Maaaaybe not for the whole time (though it looked like it throughout tbh) but she was definitely lipping lol, probably to a pre-recorded live vocal tho. When she first flips the mic is like a foot away from her mouth and not a dip in volume.
Cool performance tho, just wish they weren't using all these fun tricks on this song.

This is an audience she already has, though, and the Grammys get more general press coverage. Not that any of it matters now because what's done is done. Plus she's done all kinds of incredible performances at various country awards shows, and it's not like they ever hand her EOTY. She might as well show the general public what she can do live.

Pitch correction and dubbing from rehearsal audio is not lip-syncing. It was a live performance. There was nothing fabricated or unauthentic, and claiming she lipped implies just that.
Carrie is competitive. She would not do something like that if she didn’t think she could pull it off with a live vocal - that’s just not her. Of course they had the benefit of multiple takes as well as brand new state of the art audiovisual technology available through Resorts World, so I’m SURE they dubbed parts with audio from rehearsals, like they did with some of the Christmas and My Savior pre recorded performances. But it was not lipped.
“Haters” was more directed at those on social media immediately comparing it to other powerful women for the sake of tearing Carrie down, in addition to the few nitwits who thought she was lipping like a mime. I’ll accept dubbed and pitch corrected, but not “lip synced”. 😂

I expect a bit of clean-up for any pre-recorded performance tbh. I can’t bring myself to care anyway lol. It was a visual feast and she commanded the stage with a new stunt. A win!

I gotta be honest, I wasn't as floored by the performance as most. The silk moment at the end was cool, but other than that, she just stood there in that (awful) outfit on what looked like the top tier of a wedding cake, lol. It was just weird to me.
And there was definitely some foolery going on with the vocals IMO (which I don't even care about).

We all know Carrie can sing well live, so I don't know why it matters if she lipped/pitch corrected/whatever.

That was a super fun performance! I don't think she was lip syncing, I just think pre-recorded award shows/performances pitch correct everything. Everyone sounded better than usual! Really awesome to see Carrie do something new, and those legs. My lawd!

Yeah the performance seemed lipped, which is super rare for Carrie.

I wasn't hating, for the record. I am well aware that she is very much one of the better singers we have in mainstream music. This isn't a Normani situation of lipping a boring 4 note song on late night TV without moving an inch.
It was just strange is all as I think it's the first and only time they've done something like that to one of her performances. I've noticed some pitch correction in the past (which happens to EVERYONE - Kelly, Mariah, Xtina, etc etc). Doesn't matter at the end of the day, I was just saying it was a little jarring.

I’ll accept dubbed and pitch corrected, but not “lip synced”. 😂 Agree with this post 10/10. I’ve seen so many social media posts comparing her to Pink to diminish her performance. It’s quite sad, really. When an athlete comes in first, but doesn’t beat a record, we don’t make the failure to beat the record the headline, we celebrate their win. She’s just trying something new to add to her performance and make it more entertaining. Artists inspire artists all the time. It should be a compliment to Pink, not a ridicule of Carrie. She stands in one place at the Grammys, the comments are all “she just stands there and sings” and a week later she incorporates an aeriel element and “she’s lip synching”. The social media commentary is absurd, and that’s who I meant by “haters”. Especially considering Carrie is in a genre where so many artists either stand still or move around stage and receive absolutely no criticism for it 🤷🏽♂️

The P!nk comparisons are bound to happen anytime a woman does anything mid-air because it’s just so synonymous with her live act (I’d say it’s probably a negative at this point actually - it’s like her identity now). I remember the same comparisons happened with Gags at the SuperBowl.
Anyway she was inspired by the dancers in her residency:
“Well, we we have these incredible aerialists and dancers in our show in Vegas, Reflection, and they were so inspiring," Underwood said, referring to her Las Vegas residency show. "I was like, 'I wonder if could do that?' And I have the song 'Ghost Story,' and I felt like, well, if there's a song to try it on, it's this one."
"So I worked with our director and choreographer... and we had a couple sessions, and I was like, 'Hey! I'm not too bad!" she added. "I think it'd be great to learn more and and incorporate stuff, even just for fun."

So much noise over 20 seconds of a half-assed gimmick... and the performance was very poorly directed as the cameras captured mostly bad angles... disappointed but sadly, not surprised!!
