I’m looking forward to seeing how many stations add IGLY.

That's a stretch. It's good, but not that good. Remind Me is right up there. I mean, of course radio, sales, awards will determine most successful, but best duet sounds like an opinion. My top three are If I Didn't Love you, Only Us, and I'm Gonna Love You. I love Remind Me because it was with Brad, but it would probably rank fourth for me. The three songs I chose all sound so different and she does different things with her voice in each of them. IIDLY is such a jam, the first time I heard it I knew it would rule the charts. Only us is absolutely stunning vocally, and so is IGLY. Her lower register shines on the song. She knows the exact way to deliver a line with vocal inflection that gives it even more meaning. Anyway, I kinda rambled. I really do love the new song. I think it will do well on radio and maybe awards. We'll see. Remind Me is, IMO, one of her worst duets tbh. I vastly prefer "Oh Love" the original duet between Carrie and Brad that should've had the Remind Me treatment, but didn't for whatever reason. IIDLY never really grew on me, perhaps because I'm not the biggest Jason Aldean fan.

I love “Remind Me” and think it’s aged really, really well. I’ve actually been playing it a lot this year.
While I need to sit with IGLY longer to officially rank her country radio duets, I can confidently say I’d place it in the top three in the excellent company of “Remind Me” and IIDLY, far surpassing “Something Bad” and “The Fighter”.
ETA: Knew I was forgetting something regarding her country duets that were singles and it was ITYS with Randy, which was perfection. In retrospect releasing it as a single and bringing him on for a duet is one of my favorite career-moves from Carrie so far.
So it’s definitely in the top 4 (at least) haha

Her “Always On My Mind” duet with Willie Nelson has always been my favorite collab of hers. Just sublime.
Closely followed by the likes of “What Can I Say?”, “Hallelujah”, and “It Had To Be You”. And, even though the song itself isn’t top-tier, “Somethin’ Bad” will never get skipped over in the playlist. Still makes me so proud as a fan to know that she came up with the entire video treatment for that one.

Is this her best duet yet? Maybe it's too soon to say. I think this is one of, if not the, best duet she has ever done, the second being I Told You So. I’m Gonna Love You does what music is often supposed to do: it moves you and even makes you feel hopeful. The lyrics are beautiful, and it’s sung with sincerity. Some criticize it—based on personal preference—for lacking belting or bombast, but if I want that, I can listen to If I Didn’t Love You. This song offers something different in Carrie’s catalog, and I think it's the perfect setup for American Idol and her next album. EDIT - Hallelujah is also a top duet. This girl kills it with her collabs, so it’s hard to choose!

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion based on what everyone is saying so far but the song will have to grow on me. I don't know what I was hoping for or expecting but it will take some take with me.

Carrie Underwood's new era is likely to begin in Spring 2025, coinciding with her Las Vegas residency, American Idol's new season, and three milestone anniversaries: 20 years since her Idol win, 10 years since Storyteller, and 20 years since Some Hearts. I expect a lead single in Spring/Summer, followed by a new album in Fall 2025."

Everyone is forgetting Oh Love duet (with Brad), which remains her best duet IMO I remember “Oh Love” but while good it’s not her best IMO. “What Can I Say” is my favorite duet that Carrie has initiated. “I’m Gonna Love You” is quickly becoming my favorite duet where another artist initiated. I do think one people overlook is “All Is Well” by Michael W. Smith and Carrie.

Everyone is forgetting Oh Love duet (with Brad), which remains her best duet IMO I was just discussing her duets promoted to Country radio. Ranking all her duets would be fun though. "Oh Love" is very pretty, but just too simple for me to consider it a favorite and I get why it remained an album track. "What Can I Say" however, I still consider to be one of Carrie's biggest missed opportunities. It's all speculative ofc, but if she had followed up "Cowboy Casanova" with WCIS featuring an A-list mainstream artist (to replace Sons of Sylvia), I think she would have had a truly massive hit on her hands. "Hallelujah" is definitely another one of my favorites and I look forward to revisiting it each holiday season. Such beautiful vocals by Carrie and John and I love how they sounded together. I can't get over how much I love Carrie's (and Cody's) vocal deliveries on IGLY. This duet just makes me want Carrie to lean into the c ountry in her version of country music that much more. Her voice is made for it. I hope this song is a big success and encourages Carrie to lean in this direction on her next album.

Girl has had a lot of duets:
Oh Love (w/ Brad Paisley) I Told You So (w/ Randy Travis) What Can I Say (w/ Sons of Sylvia) Remind Me (w/ Brad) Somethin’ Bad (w/ Miranda Lambert) The Fighter (w/ Keith Urban) Hallelujah (w/ John Legend) All Is Well (w/ Michael W Smith) If I Didn’t Love You (w/ Jason Aldean) I’m Gonna Love You (w/ Cody Johnson) It Had to Be You (w/ Tony Bennett) Always On My Mind (w/ Willie Nelson) How Great Thou Art (w/ Vince Gill) The Champion (w/ Ludacris) Can’t Stop Lovin’ You (w/ Aerosmith) I’ll Be Home for Christmas (w/ Elvis Presley)
What am I forgetting?

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (w/ CeCe Winans) Tears of Gold (w/ David Bisbal) I Wanna Remember (w/ Needtobreathe) Leave A Light On (w/ Papa Roach) Only Us (w/ Dan + Shay)
I did not figure this out by myself, I went to Wikipedia. But I think that’s it?
ETA: technically not a “duet” but absolutely deserves a mention… Still Woman Enough (w/ Reba and Loretta).

So 22 songs (counting Christmas songs) gives us the equivalent of a whole album worth of duets! Girl has kept us well fed and watered the last 20 years.
It'd be great if Team CU could put these into a playlist on Spotify/Apple Music for us and "launch" it as an album to help promote the new duet. I'll be honest...I haven't listened to some of these, possibly ever.

I’d definitely love a duet with an “A-Lister” that is initiated by her. She’d sound amazing with Chris Stapleton… both have the ability to tap into a soulful side of singing.

That last verse is perfect.
Could hear it being used on socials for reels and stories. Just about any stories relating to time passes fast. Also... Wedding dances, proposals etc.
I have to say, having followed Carrie's career since day 1, my taste in music has definitely changed over the years. I love her lower register so much, it's gorgeous. I wish she would use them much more than any belting, which I don't quite enjoy anymore tbh.
I hope Cody's team is better at marketing, would love to see this smash BIG. Ideally, better than IIDLY.

I Wanna Remember is a slept on masterpiece. By far my favorite collaboration she’s ever done, as well as one of my favorite songs from her. Also the music video? Simple and perfect.

But i gotta admit that Cody is cute. 😹 His musical output reminds me of the music that pulled me into the genre during Carrie's idol days (give a listen to "Dirt Cheap" if you don't listen to a lot of current country music). I'd love for his vibe to rub off on Carrie.

Missed opportunity at the end of the clip for a call back to Carrie’s famous cluck from her audition!! I was waiting for Carrie to do it!
This is going to be GREAT for her. This will bring her out of her shell in ways we really haven’t seen before. I genuinely can’t wait to watch next Spring!
