I just finished spinning this, and wow love it. I love the instrumental production throughout this album, and many of them have very strong melody as well. The title track and the collab with American Aquarium are particularly great. I just hope that she will try something on the mainstream market, as some songs, like Everything She Ain't (my fav since it release) are radio-friendly enough, and yet, beautifully composed.

The Dream was one of my favorite albums of 2020, but on first listen Raised seems like a step down. There's some good songs on here, but I feel like there's too many songs that rely on the "country living is the best thing ever" trope (Everybody Oughta, Our Grass Is Legal, Beer Tastes Better).
Also, unless I'm thinking about it the wrong way, Our Grass Is Legal seems like a weird phrase to use when so many states have legalized pot.

I LOVE the Dream but when I started this album I was kinda bored, like it lacked something for me sonically, but still a great songwriter album! It might have benefited from cutting a track or two (for me at least).

Gave this one run-through and loved it. She's got the makings of a star imo. Great sound and voice.

This might just be my favorite album of the year (so far). I'm loving the production and it's just so nice and refreshing to hear all of this fiddle and steel guitar.
