5. White Town - Your Woman
This being the 2nd highest SD surprised me. Lots of love, but it seems like some people cannot stand this. Idk if Dua Lipas Love Again that sampled this had anything to do with it, or is it just the vocals of this. Regardless, I like this song a lot, and I think that Love Again helped me love it even more.

When CF15 was so confident that Tubthumping was the 2nd highest standard deviation.

When CF15 was so confident that Tubthumping was the 2nd highest standard deviation. I guess this one kind of makes sense, too. Some people find it too "weird". :(

4. Chumbawamba - Tubthumping
Who in the world saw this coming as the 2nd lowest standard deviation. I certainly did not, and only 1 rank below 30, and it is a last place. When you are such an outlier that it still becomes the 2nd lowest standard deviation. Great song, love everything about it.

Imagine "Tubthumping" not being polarizing in a Pulse rankdown.

Fun fact - Az Paynter was the only top 10 rank for his 1 and only bottom 10 rank for his 50. The time he sent his list... His 1 and 50 were the 2 lowest standard deviations. Talk about being a huge outlier for the extremes.

The top 3 pretty much ran away with this as this was the top 3 for a long time after around the 10th to 15th list.
Number 3 is ahead of Tubthumping by 98 points.
3 is coming shortly.

Before I reveal, here is another fun fact. Every single person has at least 1 song in the top 3 in their top 10. After 3 is revealed, only 2 people will not have at least one of the top 2 in their top 10, wow.

3. Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack
Great song, unique, and nice voice. Very well deserved top 5. This was number 1 for a while at the start.

Before I reveal the top 2 I want to say, that they are 31 points apart. 2 peoples rankings caused a difference, remove one of their lists and the outcome could be different, sooo... Let's find out who caused the song they ranked lower to lose, or who caused the song they ranked higher to win. :) Find out shortly.

2. New Radicals - You Get What You Give
This song is good, but Idk if I call it great, just good for me, and I definitely knew it would be a contender for the win. Maybe it needs time to grow on me even more. Just prefer other songs.

So Return Of The Mack, You Get What You Give, and I Love You Always Forever were the songs that spent 98 percent of the way in the top 3, Return Of The Mack spent it more on the first few lists, then You Get What You Give spent it for a few lists, then it got taken over by I Love You Always Forever, at one point it was almost 100 points ahead, but the lead got cut close to almost 10 point difference, before advancing a little ahead again to make sure it does not get over taken. It hurts for gonecountry when his 1 lost to his 49 in the top 2. Thanks everyone for participating, I will try to post closeness tomorrow along with other stats! :) I will host another Rankdown in the near future, but I do not know what Rankdown yet.

Thanks 312999 for a great rankdown. Good selection of songs. Pleasantly surprised to see Your Woman do so well. Was hoping that the New Radicals would come out on top, but #2 isn't bad at all. Knew Donna Lewis would be way up there, despite my lack of appreciation of the tune. All in all, a very solid top 10.

This was a cool rankdown! There was a good selection of good new discoveries (Crush, Mouth, Tell Me, I Got 5 on It) and international one hit wonders I didn't know were hits (Inside, Lemon Tree, 74-75). But I think the most interesting part of this for me was like, listening to songs I take for granted properly and learning that...I actually really like them? If I had done this without actually listening to everything again, I guarantee that Jump Around, Tubthumping, Here Comes the Hotstepper, Return of the Mack, Rump Shaker, and Groove Is in the Heart all would have been much lower on my list. I'd do another one hit wonder rankdown! It's a fun idea.

That same YouTuber has an 80s version as well. I hope that he can make a 2000s and 2010s version too in the near future.

20. breakfast at tiffanys - i liked this well enough when it was out. it was similar to how i felt about a lot of the similar sounding lighter rock songs like gin bloossoms, roll to me, and others. Not something I loved but still enjoyed all the time, but then it got overplayed for a looooong time. I don't mind it now in passing.
19. sex and candy - probably the same with this one too. It was a surprisingly big hit on the pop chart too.
18. i got 5 on it - I remember hearing *about* this one a bit in the 90s but it wasn't something I don't think I heard until... Idk, not that long ago, so it doesn't have the nostalgia factor for me, but also isn't something I've really liked enough to add to my 90s playlists.
17. tell me - love this one!
16. i wish - a bit of a novelty song that felt bigger than it probably actually was. At least to me. It never made the top 40 pop chart but the video came on a lot. It was fun!
15. baby got back - I think i appreciate this one more now over the last couple years than I ever did before then. I kind of added this to the populated list of 90s novelty hits like you can't touch this and ice ice baby. I think this is better than those. Not something I'd play on my own but i like on mixed playlists and stuff when I'm out.
14. here comes the hotstepper - I've always loved this one! I hoped it could make the top 10.
13. sunny came home - I liked this quite a lot too. Shawn has a nice voice, though her songs aren't super interested so beyond this and a couple others she's released, I haven't dove too much into her music. But this is a 90s standard for me for sure!
12. groove is in the heart - I legit expected this to be guaranteed top 5, possible #1. Glad it missed the top 10. Was never a song I liked and I don't even really know why. It just never hooked me. Dee Lite also had a song on the dumb & dumber soundtrack (one of my first CDs, hence why this stands out to me), a cover of You Sexy Thing, and I didn't like that one either. Maybe it's just her style.
11. I know - sad this one missed it. I think I Know is one of the most underrated songs of the 90s. It didn't have that instant hook that made it a super memorable generation-defining song like most of the others on this list, but it's blend of so many styles and genres into still a pop song makes it sound so epic. Super underappreciated so even though it missed the top 10, at least it got this high.
