Catching up on what I missed, so I'll comment on 10-6 first here!
10. Interesting to see how "Black Velvet" is the only song here without any Bottom 10 ranks, well done to this for that. But kinda surprising how it only manages to make it to 10th. Also wow at 6 #3 and 3 #7 rankings. :o Anyway, I do really like this as this was my #22 but not a top favorite. I was still hoping for this to beat out my #26, 28 and 35 but no luck.
9. With me ranking this at #19, I'm glad to see "Save Tonight" win the tiebreaker thanks to alexcuse's #1 rank. I do really like this song and think it's a chill and enjoyable song. It's easy listening and I like Eagle Eye Cherry's voice on this.
8. Ughh noo, not "Crush" showing up before any of my 3 Bottom half ranks. Ugh I am start to flop really hard here. Love this song from Jennifer Paige. This was a song I grew up on and loved listening to whenever it was playing. A fun catchy great pop song. Ooh I don't really hear or get the Britney Spears style here, but very interesting. :o But wow it's really impressive how this had so many Top 30 ranks but then.... those 3 Bottom 6 ranks.
7. LMAO woww it's crazy seeing so many #12 ranks for "Jump Around." It makes me wish I had this at #12 to, but I was close with #11, hahaha. This is a really great, fun, catchy fun rap jam that always gets me so pumped up and excited. Great song and happy to see it get this far. I can get how this could annoy people but this is just so fun. OMG I can't believe I got 3 of my Bottom 25 ranks in the Top 6. Please let this change with the next reveal.
6. Okay, so yay at least one of my Bottom 25 ranks drops out now, which is my #28. "No Rain" is a really good classic 90s one hit wonders song. I get the love for it and why it's so high but it was never one of my favorites. It's enjoyable but wow I agree with everything the host said here, lol.
Of this Top 5, I got the remaining left: #3, 9, 15, 26, 35. Yikes, that is not tooo good. Hoping for my #3 or #9 to win but not sure if they pulled it off.

5. Oooh yayy finally "Your Woman" shows up. I was waiting for this. Oh wow I did not realize Dua Lipa's "Love Again" samples this but I totallly here it now. Wow soo crazy. :o I'm n ot too familiar with this song hence the low ranking but now I kinda wish I ranked it a little higher than I did. Probably wouldn't have made my Top 25 or 30 but hmm. Also interesting this has the 2nd highest standard deviation. And wow 5 #1s. :o And a bigger wow at 5 Bottom 5 ranks but this still making the Top 5. :o Such a polarizing song. 4. Whoaaa, it's really shocking to see "Tubthumping" as the song with the 2nd lowest standard deviation! :o I was not expecting that. Darn I love this as I have this ranked at #3 so I was hoping this could win but I knew it wouldn't. :'( I thought it would have been much more polarizing but so glad it's not. OMGG whoaa.... all those ranks in the Top 27 but then boooo that one last place ruined it's amazing ranks. :'( Bummer, but still so glad seeing it making it this high! This is such a fun, addicting, catchy song and it's such a classic to me. Makes me so happy! 3. I really like "Return Of The Mack" so I'm good with this making it to 3rd. I'm kinda shocked with my low #15 rank because I feel I should have this higher. This is a great, fun jam and something I should love. And I do love it but hmmm, I guess I love 14 others. But yeah no complaints seeing this do so well and with lots of great ranks. Disappointed that my #26 beat this so hopefully that doesn't win. 2. Oooh phew, I do like "You Get What You Give" and think this is a fun song but glad it didn't win as I had this at #26. This is a song I remember hearing a lot and growing up on. It's never been a huge favorite but I did always enjoy it. I'm surprised it made it all the way to #2 but well done. Impressive with 6 #1 ranks. 1. Yayy I love "I Love You Always Forever" and think this is a great song and a great winner here too! Not surprised seeing this song with the 3rd Lowest standard deviation as I thought it would be an all around well liked song. This is such a beautiful and enjoyable song! That same YouTuber has an 80s version as well. I hope that he can make a 2000s and 2010s version too in the near future. Ah I was thinking that I would really love to see a 2000s One Hits Wonders version of this game! That would be a lot of fun! |

Ah I was thinking that I would really love to see a 2000s One Hits Wonders version of this game! That would be a lot of fun! Definitely, but I am taking a break from Rankdowns for now. Finally able to catch up on the rest! 10. black velvet - agreed with 312999 that this doesn't strike me as a song that people would really dislike, even if they don't love it. It's kind of the boat I'm in. I'm not likely to seek it out on purpose but I do enjoy it when it's on. I'd say #10 is deserving. 9. save tonight - such a bland song. Even when it was out and a hit and I generally liked everything that made the top 40, this song was blah. If I allowed myself to dislike songs back then (lmao), I probably would have disliked this one. It's just so bland. 8. crush - this was another I liked when it was out but I haven't really gone back to much. Of the major one-hit-wonder hits from the late 90s, this doesn't stand as strong as songs like "torn" and "i love you always forever." I'd still put it slightly above "mouth" (and I'm sure I did in this rankdown) 7. jump around - I can understand why this is loved. It's just not loved by me. Nothing against it though. 6. no rain - I do love this song but unfortunately, I'm responsible myself for playing it out over the years. 5. your woman - I do wonder how this song would have done had this rankdown taken place before Dua Lipa's album came out. I have always liked this one. It's such a strange different song from what was out at the time and nothing has come out that felt similar to me. I'm glad to see it this high. 4. tubthumping - surprised to see this so high. It's a classic! 3. return of the mack - this is starting to enter "this is how we do it" territory in that it's become too representative of the 90s in the public sphere. Anytime I go to any 90s themed events, those are the two 100% guaranteed songs that get played. I like this one a lot more though but people need to calm down. 2. you get what you give - I like this but not #2 like. More like... #20. 1. i love you always forever - pleasantly surprised this made the top! Definitely got some severe overplay in the 90s but unlike "torn," it seems to be gone the 'lost 90s' route so it doesn't seem to show up as often. which means when it does, it's that more special! |
