I am loving all the pre-release tracks and I am sad it seems like this one didn't make the cut:

If your going down is amazing. Like she ripped a page right outta Miss Carly Pearce’s production book. I hope it becomes a single.

Top 50 on Hot AC!
66 50 KELSEA BALLERINI Heartfirst 121 34 87 0.298
Hopefully, this encourages Country to start putting it in a higher rotation. It genuinely shouldn't be moving at a glacier pace tbh...

Kind of feel like this on has been pretty stagnant over the past month or so. I have to wonder how the callouts are for it because it looks like its relatively low on the Monday Morning Intel Callout chart. I wonder if they just keep it through the end of the year and move onto single 2 during Q1. I'd really love to see "If You Go Down" go to radio.

I'm so curious to see what we get as singles and how many we get. I'm a little worried "You're Drunk, Go Home" will be pushed next especially because it's getting a CMA performance. It's a great song, but there's a handful of songs I'd pick over it. Personally rooting for "I Can't Help Myself". I think it's a guaranteed smash especially if they're shooting for a summer peak. "If You Go Down" would be my 2nd choice.

I actually think they could go for "What I Have" as the second single, it is connecting the best out of all of the songs on iTunes (at #68 on iTunes Country) and while it is a huge risk, it is connecting pretty well.

I would love to see “What I Have” pushed. If they play their cards right I could see it having similar success to “Stay” by Sugarland.

Agree with all of these songs being thrown around for single 2 as well. Don't really want the duet to be a single. Also, wanted to throw Love Is A Cowboy out there as well for songs I wouldn't mind. A stunning track.

I’m curious to see how long they’re going to stick with this since it recently started to climb on Hot AC. Hopefully not too long and we get a new single before the year ends since it’s becoming clear that radio will not take it much further regardless of how radio-friendly the song is and the fact that songs by male artists with terrible callouts have reached #1 or Top 10…
I’d go with Muscle Memory. It feels like it has the best chance of smashing, with huge potential of crossing over as well. A huge no to “You’re Drunk”. If I did the singles, this is how I would go with: Muscle Memory, If You Go Down I’m Going Down Too, and then if there’s one more single, I’d close with What I Have.

Muscle Memory is screaming to be a single but I wouldn't be mad at ICHM or IYGD coming next. I just want them to announce it already!

Disappointed this isn't doing better, but won't be mad if they pull it soon and start off Q1 with something new. The album is STACKED with single options that should do much better than "Heartfirst" sadly has (though I expected it to be doing much better than this tbf). Also, agree with the consensus that "You're Drunk" is a no from me. It would probably be a safe hit based on the name recognition of the collaborators, but at least half the album tracks are superior to it.
I'll be sad if we don't get at least 2 of these: Muscle Memory, The Little Things, If You Go Down, What I Have, and I Can't Help Myself. Preferably 3 of them, because there's too many good single options with this record.

I’m really liking the idea of “What I Have” as the second single. It could be a nice moment for her and then 3rd be “If I Go Down”. Idk that we’ll be lucky enough to get more than 3 singles but I truly want about 7 so I will be disappointed something amazing is getting left behind either way.

As long as the collaboration is not the next single and remains an album track, I’m good!

I am kind of shocked people think "You're Drunk, Go Home" sounds like a hit, I feel like that could easily turn into "The Other Girl" part 2 as something about it just sounds a bit too polarizing to radio.

I actually think they’re in an agreement. Based on the past few comments, me included, don’t want it as a single.

I don't want "You're Drunk" as a single, but it absolutely sounds like a hit. It's not even remotely comparable to the Halsey situation at all imo. The song sounds like something country radio would play and the fact that Carly Pearce is on it would pretty much guarantee a top 30 hit at least.

I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is, but something about “You’re Drunk” just doesn’t work for me. I do like it, but something about it prevents me from liking it as much as I should. I’ll be very disappointed if it becomes a single, but I’m excited about a CMA performance of this. Hope it’s just a fun way to promote the album and get a start-studded performance on the books for a ratings draw, and not the next single.
Team “What I Have” for single 2. It might be close to my favorite thing Kelsea has ever done. High risk high reward. Not sure why “Heartfirst” isn’t working, but I think they should pivot hard to WIH if it does stall out.

Heartfirst drops to #25 on Billboard and for the second consecutive week, Heartfirst also loses its audience, and continues to have a negative bullet. This will go recurrent next week if that continues.
If they go with What I Have next, I wonder if we will get an edit with what she sings live ("I got my own body") instead of sending the album version? I'm listening to it right now, and I'm starting to agree that it could be a high-reward single, even more so with the edit because that line hits HARD.

Given today's update it appears that promotion has been dropped for "Heartfirst." It's been losing spins/audience all week and suffers a big loss on today's update. While I wish this could have made it higher I'm happy they went ahead and let this go. The best this probably could've done given the poor callouts was top 10 and that would have most likely took 3-4 more months to get there. Bring on single 2! Just hope this doesn't signal "You're Drunk Go Home" being the next single, since it's being performed on the CMAs next Wednesday.

I really hope if they’re going for something more traditional leaning, it’s “I Can’t Help Myself” or “If You Go Down, I’m Going Down Too”. “You’re Drunk, Go Home” sounds like a smash to me, but I can see programmers being hesitant to add it and the song failing to do any better than “Heartfirst”. I’m not super worried about Kelsea going forward, but this single is kind of important if they’re planning on having a few more singles down the line. “Muscle Memory” is the obvious smash that should realistically be pushed next, but I hope they save it especially if the Kelly/Carly collab goes to radio and ends up flopping.

I’m a little sad this didn’t go further as it’s one of my favorite releases of the year, but I’m also glad they’re moving onto something else since it’s failing to connect at radio.
I’m team either What I Have, If You Go Down, or Muscle Memory. A big NO to You’re Drunk, the only thing it got going for is that it has Kelly and Carly but other than that it is simply lackluster.

I actually don’t think the next single is going to be You’re Drunk, Go Home and the reason she’s performing it on the CMA Awards is because of the star power of artists on the song which that in itself, will have more impact and press than her performing a new single that might or might not connect through a televised live performance. Honestly these days, I’ve noticed award show slots, though are great opportunities to debut a new single and gauge reaction, are actually a even better way of performing a more “acclaimed” album track to bring more attention to the overall project.
This definitely underperformed on radio but Kelsea does stream solidly and this (at least on Spotify) has streamed just as well or better than some recent top 10/5 hits as well as kept her in hot ac’s radar as their select few female country crossover acts they’re accepting. Personally for me I’d release Muscle Memory next as it’s one of the better connecting songs on the album streaming wise and seems like folks love it on pulse too but also keep the option open for YDGH if it connects after the performance warranting a radio push. Well probably just have to wait.

“If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too)” was picked up by a station according to AllAccess’ taking off section.
Would love to see it be single #2!

“If You Go Down (I’m Going Down Too)” was picked up by a station according to AllAccess’ taking off section. Would love to see it be single #2! Either that or "What I Have" as the next single please. Just not the collaboration with Kelly Clarkson and Carly Pearce as that would probably do about as well as "Heartfirst" did at best (I personally don't think the fact it has Carly Pearce on it means automatic Top 30).

I’m just really surprised “heartfirst” didn’t do well. I thought it was an earworm.
I’d really like “the little things” to be the next single. It’s one of those songs that puts you in a happy mood

Not that it really means anything, but I commented on one of Kelsea’s new videos on TikTok that has “If You Go Down” in it to make it a single and she liked the comment. Probably would’ve ignored it if it wasn’t next, just a thought.

I mean, that Tweet from a radio station alone basically confirms "If You Go Down" is next. Good choice! It is definitely one of the catchiest and countriest tracks on the record, so I'm excited to see them going with it. I can't wait to see what they do for the music video because it should be a hoot.
