Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Mainstream Sellout’ Bows at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart Plus: Daddy Yankee scores his highest-charting album ever on the Billboard 200 with 'Legendaddy.'www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/machine-gun-kelly-mainstream-sellout-billboard-200-albums-chart-1235054057/By Keith Caulfield 04/3/2022 Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout tops the Billboard 200 albums chart, as the set enters atop the list dated April 9 with 93,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 31, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. It’s the artist’s second leader, following his last release, 2020’s Tickets to My Downfall. All told, Mainstream Sellout is his sixth top 10 on the tally. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new April 9, 2022-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on April 5. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. Of Mainstream Sellout’s 93,000 equivalent album units earned, album sales comprise 42,000 (it’s the top-selling album of the week); SEA units comprise 50,000 (equaling 68.8 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs), and TEA units comprise 1,000. The album’s sales were enhanced by its availability in deluxe editions and boxed sets sold via Machine Gun Kelly’s official webstore. While Mainstream Sellout’s internet-based sales were sturdy, the album would have still been No. 1 without any sales from non-traditional sellers (which include web-based stores). Mainstream Sellout is the first No. 1 rock album on the Billboard 200 in over a year, since AC/DC’s Power Up spent a week at No. 1, debuting atop the list dated Nov. 28, 2020. Mainstream Sellout also has the largest week, by units, for a rock album since Paul McCartney’s McCartney III launched with 107,000 units on the Jan. 2, 2021-dated chart (at No. 2). (Rock albums are defined as those that have hit Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart.) Three former No. 1s are all non-movers on the latest Billboard 200 at Nos. 2-4, as Lil Durk’s 7220 (63,000 equivalent album units; down 23%), the Encanto soundtrack (58,000; down 1%) and Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (45,000; down 4%) are steady at Nos. 2, 3 and 4, respectively. Olivia Rodrigo’s chart-topping Sour jumps 11-5 on the Billboard 200 with 34,000 equivalent album units earned. The set posts a 14% increase in units for the week, following the debut of her documentary film Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film) on Disney+ on March 25 (the first day of the chart’s tracking week). The Weeknd’s compilation The Highlights is stationary at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 33,000 equivalent album units earned (down 2%). and Drake’s former No. 1 Certified Lover Boy rises 8-7 with 31,000 units (down 1%). Daddy Yankee returns to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 for the first time in nearly 15 years, as Legendaddy debuts at No. 8 – his highest charting album ever and second top 10. He previously hit the top 10 in June of 2007 with El Cartel: The Big Boss, debuting and peaking at No. 9. The new 19-track Legendaddy is Daddy Yankee’s first studio album in nearly 10 years, and has been described as his final studio release. Legendaddy bows with 29,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, SEA units comprise nearly 27,000 (equaling 38.49 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs), album sales comprise 2,000 and TEA units comprise less than 1,000 units. Legendaddy is the highest-charting Latin album, and first top 10, on the Billboard 200 since Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo bowed at No. 1 on the Dec. 12, 2020-dated chart and spent five nonconsecutive weeks in the top 10. Legendaddy also lands the largest debut week, by units, for a Latin album since El Ultimo debuted with 116,000 units. (Latin albums are defined as those that have hit Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.) Rounding out the new top 10 on the Billboard 200: Doja Cat’s Planet Her rises 10-9 with 29,000 equivalent album units earned (down 3%), and Gunna’s former leader DS4Ever falls 9-10 with nearly 29,000 (down 6%). Luminate, formerly MRC Data, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes an exhaustive and thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data, removing any suspicious or unverifiable activity using established criteria before final chart calculations are made and published. And Sour is 6th place for weeks in the top 5 for this century. Behind 21, that one country guy, 1989, Shoot for the Stars, and Frozen.

Crazy to see Adele already treading below Future Nostalgia, Happier Than Ever, and others.
Even crazier to see DawnFM out the top 40 already.

Daddy Yankee’s ‘Legendaddy’ Debuts at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums Chart, Top 10 on Billboard 200 The set marks the biggest week for a Latin album in over a year.
BY PAMELA BUSTIOS
Daddy Yankee Daddy Yankee photographed on Sept. 22, 2021 at the Faena Forum in Miami. Mary Beth Koeth DDaddy Yankee bags his seventh No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart as Legendaddy debuts at No. 1 on the April 9-dated ranking. The 19-track set, released March 25 via El Cartel/Republic, stands out as his first album in over 10 years and is set to be a farewell celebration of his 32-year musical career.
Streaming powers the majority of the Legendaddy’s first-week activity. Just under 27,000 units stem from streaming equivalent album units, 2,000 comprise traditional album sales, while the remaining units derive from track equivalent album units.
The Top Latin Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multimetric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.
Largest Sales Week for a Latin Album in 2022: Legendaddy starts with 29,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending March 31, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. That’s the largest week in terms of units earned this year for any Latin album, ahead of Bad Bunny’s YHLQMDLG which logged 22,000 units on the April 2-dated survey.
Best Opening Week Among Latin Albums in 2022: With 29,000 in its opening week, Legendaddy boats the best starting week in terms of overall units among all Latin albums which have debuted in 2022. It bests Rosalía’s Motomami which generated 17,000 units in its debut week (April 2-dated ranking) and the 14,000 units of Bad Bunny’s Anniversary Trilogy (Jan. 15-dated recap).
Second-Largest Streaming Week in Over a Year: Of Legendaddy’s 29,000 equivalent album units, SEA units comprise 27,000 units –equaling 38.50 million on-demand streams from the set’s tracks. That’s the second-largest streaming week since Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour Del Mundo logged 30,000 SEA units (a total of 45.1 million on-demand streams of the set’s songs) on the chart dated Jan. 16, 2020.
Legendaddy is Daddy Yankee’s first No. 1 on Top Latin Albums in almost a decade. He last ruled with the two-week champ Prestige in 2012. In between he posted one top 10: King Daddy (No. 7 high) in Nov. 2013.
The set concurrently opens at No. 8 on Billboard 200, the Puerto Rican’s highest charting album there. He’s charted one other top 10, the No. 9-peaking El Cartel: The Big Boss in 2007.
As Legendaddy arrives, 12 songs from the album debut on Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, streaming data, and digital sales, led by “X Última Vez,” with Bad Bunny at No. 6. The song traces its start to 6.51 million U.S. streams earned in the week ending March 31. It also benefits from 700 sales downloads, which prompts a No. 11 debut on Latin Digital Song Sales
Here is a summary of Legendaddy’s 12 songs on Hot Latin Songs:
No. 6, “X Última Vez,” with Bad Bunny No. 13, “Remix” No. 19, “Rumbatón” No. 21, “Agua” No. 23, “Hot,” with Pitbull No. 24, “Para Siempre,” with Sech No. 28, “Pasatiempo,” with Myke Towers No. 32, “Zona del Perreo,” with Natti Natasha & Becky G No. 33, “Bombón,” El Alfa & Lil Jon No. 38, “Uno Quitao y Otro Puesto” No. 39, “Campeón” No. 45, “El Abusador del Abusador”

Better late than never:
4/8/2022 By Keith Caulfield
It's the singer's seventh consecutive full-length studio album to debut in the top three.
Michael Bublé captures his ninth top 10 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated April 9) as his 11th full-length studio album, Higher, debuts at No. 3. It’s the singer’s seventh consecutive full-length studio set to bow in the top three of the chart. Higher starts with 21,000 copies sold in the U.S. in the week ending March 31, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data.
Elsewhere in the top 10 of Top Album Sales, seven more albums debut in the region, led by the chart-topping arrival of Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout.
Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now MRC Data. Pure album sales were the sole measurement utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. Of Higher’s 21,000 copies sold in the week ending March 31, physical sales comprise 12,000 (all on CD) and digital sales comprise nearly 9,000. A vinyl LP release for the album is scheduled for May 13. Higher adds to Bublé’s list of top 10s on the Top Album Sales tally, as he previously reached the region with Love (peaking at No. 1 2018, after debuting at No. 2), Nobody But Me (No. 2; 2016), To Be Loved (No. 1; 2013), Christmas (No. 1; 2013), Hollywood: The Deluxe EP (No. 10; 2010), Crazy Love (No. 1; 2009), Call Me Irresponsible (peaking at No. 1 in 2007, after debuting at No. 2) and It’s Time (No. 7; 2005) At No. 1 on Top Album Sales, Machine Gun Kelly’s Mainstream Sellout debuts with 42,000 copies sold. The album’s sales were enhanced by its availability in deluxe editions and boxed sets sold via Machine Gun Kelly’s official webstore. Stray Kids’ Oddinary falls from No. 1 to No. 2 in its second week with 22,000 sold (down 78%). Nearly all of the rest of the top 10 consist of debuts: Keshi’s Gabriel (No. 4; 17,000 sold), NCT Dream’s Glitch Mode (No. 5; 13,000), Reba McEntire’s My Chains Are Gone: Hymns & Gospel Favorites (No. 6; 12,000), Mac Miller’s 2012 mixtape Macadelic (No. 7; nearly 12,000 – following its release on vinyl LP), Wallows’ Tell Me That It’s Over (No. 8; 11,000) and Maren Morris’ Humble Quest (No. 9; nearly 11,000). The chart-topping Encanto soundtrack rounds out the top 10, falling 6-10 with 9,000 sold (though up 25%, following its exposure on the March 27 Academy Awards, where two of the album’s songs were performed and the movie won best animated feature film). In the week ending March 31, there were 1.836 million albums sold in the U.S. (up 3.7% compared to the previous week). Of that sum, physical albums (CDs, vinyl LPs, cassettes, etc.) comprised 1.419 million (up 1.7%) and digital albums comprised 417,000 (up 10.8%).
