Overall really great album. "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" is amazing, hope it will see the radio. Down To The Bar is also a jam. I must say Single Saturday Night is one of the weakest tracks here, so it was an unfortunate single choice.

I'm hearing/seeing very overwhelming positive things about this album, I may have to check it out which is something I never thought I'd say about a Cole Swindell album.

Tracks 1-5 are pure fire. How is She and Miss Whenever are also great. Definitely a strong album with lots of hit potential!

I can’t believe how much i like this album. Other than SSN anyways. And to think he wasted a single on that song when there are numerous songs on here that are so much better than that dumb song.
I think these are the 3 biggest standouts besides NSN Every Beer She Had Me at Heads Carolina I’m Gonna Let Her
But there other songs on here that i think are really good as well.
Congrats Cole, you are back in my good graces. But you will still get crap for SSN

"She Had Me At Heads Carolina" is the best thing I've ever heard from Cole Swindell, and it isn't even close. That absolutely has to be the next single.

"She Had Me at Heads Carolina" is indeed quite good, but I am a little dead @ just how much praise is being lobbed on it. It's good because it's literally just recycling one of the most catchy melodies ever used in country music, and that alone makes it better than most of his usual dreck. Cole's vocal performance (like always) is very flat and the production on the track is so slick and polished and has such an artificial feel to it for something that's supposed to be a tribute to the great 90s era of country music. Even that steel guitar moment in the bridge sounds like it was manufactured by a machine instead of a real instrument. I like the song for what it is and agree that it clears the low bar he usually operates at, but can we imagine how much more of a jam this would be if someone like Cody Johnson had crafted this instead?

All agreed but it still is my favorite thing I've heard from him...ever? so If I have to hear another single from him I want this lol Plus I'd love if they could get Jo Dee out for a remix or something that'd be cool to see.

Gave this a curiosity spin out of pure boredom just now, and walked away with Stereotype in my music library. WOW; Cole Swindell has shocked the hell out of me. I’d previously only used literally one song of his and that song is “You Should Be Here,” but this album is something else. I can’t stand most of this man’s music and I’m halfway to declaring this album one of the greatest country releases of 2022, at least so far. It’s certainly his personal greatest, at the very least.
Is this album without its flaws? NO, lmao. “Single Saturday Night” is on it, for starters, and “Down to the Bar” is another heaping pile of garbage. Even still, every other song has something great going for it in my opinion, with a couple of clever lyrical choices in “Girl Goes Crazy,” one of Cole’s better vocal performances on record with “Walk on Whiskey,” and undeniably catchy melodies throughout. If I have any other complaints, my biggest is the noticeable lack of female songwriters on the album. There is ONE (1) woman credited as a co-writer across 13 songs. Nashville has got to start switching this up. I want to see more diverse and equal numbers when it comes to female co-writes, particularly on albums by male artists.
All in all, I was taken aback by just how thoroughly I enjoyed most of this album. Solid A from me, which is something I never thought I’d give to a Cole Swindell album.
As for singles, I’d LOVE “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” to be a single immediately. That song has me GAGGED and SLAYED. I think it’s a very clever way to recycle one of the best country songs of the 1990s, and I just think it’d be cool to hear on the radio. Following that, I’d be down for “Girl Goes Crazy,” “How Is She,” or “Miss Wherever,” should the label decide to go four-deep with this record.

'She Had Me At "Heads Carolina"' is very clever. It's an answer record, but, unlike most answer records, it shares the same melody and instrumental riffs as the original. Obviously, the whole thing is deeply cynical: '90s country is popular right now, and the melody has already been road-tested in the sense that it has been a big hit. Yet the familiarity and the nostalgia is paired with some decent lyrics which actually acknowledges the fame of the song. Some such records act as sequels or variations to incidents in the original narrative, yet this one is meta-textual. The characters in the song know about the Jo Dee record, and they're not simply connected to the characters in it.

Stereotype Broken is out. 1. Sad Ass Country Song [Cole Swindell, Joel Hutsell, Josh Miller, Matt Dragstrem] 2. Broken [Hillary Lindsey, Chris LaCorte, Cole Swindell, Cole Taylor] 3. Drinkaby [Jordan Schmidt, Michael Hardy, Hunter Phelps, Jon Pardi] 17. She Had Me At Heads Carolina (Remix)
