Now that the album is out and the first weeks sales are over people can hop on the next hate train.
ANYWAYS, "Crush" is grown in me immensely over the weekend. I cannot miss this tour!

ANYWAYS, "Crush" is grown in me immensely over the weekend. I cannot miss this tour! Crush has grown a lot on me too. It went from being one of my least favorites to the top half of the album for me. On another note, I’m pretty sure ‘Teenage Dream’ is gonna be one of those albums that really stands the test of time and people will still be listening to it 20-25 years after it’s release.

I prefer the better of the two "la da de" songs: "I'm His, He's Mine", but in Katy's own words "Crush" is "good for a throwback". 🤭

The dance side of the album is giving me earlier Kaskade at times.

The album is growing on me with more listens... Same! I was almost meh on the first listen but I started noticing the little intracisies after awhile. Like the transitions between each song is brilliant especially He's Mine/Crush/Lifetimes and All This Love/Nirvana. Her vocal production with her call and response bgv on "Truth" is classic Katy. I feel this is her most apologetic album to date and she's finally in a place of happiness. The lack of a ballad was also a choice.

The album is growing on me with more listens... LOL I was JUST coming in here to post the same thing. I mean...I have been listening to it in some capacity every day since it came out. While I still think it's basic, overall, I find it stronger than at least her debut and Witness.

I mean Katy’s debut is her weakest effort imo. Outside of the singles, I rarely revisit that album.

Personally, I hope Katy does a deluxe edition with some new songs. TBH, I am sure that has been the plan the whole time, but I think the songs need to be without Luke.
If she can get in the studio with a couple of fresher producers, I think she could still get a hit this era. Maybe not a massive one, but even a medium sized hit would save this era and help with her tour.

I’m gonna give it another spin, just to see if I can get into it.

I really want Katy to work with Dan Nigro at some point. I don’t know if it’ll ever happen but I think he could find a sound that would work for Katy.
I think Katy should work on either a new album or an EP instead of a deluxe 143. Get a new sound with new producers and drop it in 2025 before her tour starts next summer. She’ll most likely get some buzz when her tour starts so she should strike with new music then.

I’m gonna give it another spin, just to see if I can get into it. I did for the first time this morning out of curiosity. Didn't like at all. The production left a lot to be desired. I ended up skipping from song to song after a minute of listening. Nothing caught my attention. And didn't like her voice either. Throughout the years I've liked many songs of hers. Her voice sometimes I found ok, but many times annoying. It's basically all annoying to me in this album. The whole thing felt plasticky and cheap. At least I liked Smile a few years back and played it a good number of times.

143 debuted at #42 in Canada...I'm confused. The album debuted in the top 20 in almost every country so far, and her album performances in Canada were similar to the US (TD, Prism and Witness #1, Smile #5 and OOTB #6), plus, Canada is the country where Never Really Over reached the top 10, and where she has 10 #1s and 20 top 10s (1 #1 and 6 top 10s more than in the US).

A 3rd show in Adelaide was added after the 2nd one there sold out in an hour. The Aussies are stanning her hard this time!
More US Billboard chart data came out today:
Katy Perry #6. Artist 100
143 #2. Top Album Sales #2. Vinyl Albums #6. Indie Store Album Sales

I am enjoying 143 and those pics of Katy look fantastic! Time for Katy Perry f/ Doechii - "I'm His, He's Mine" to chart on the BB Hot 100. I sure hope next week it is on there and climbs up and up and up.

It would take a lot for 'I'm His, He's Mine' to chart on the Hot 100 without streaming. If Madison Beer could go top 10 on pop radio and still not chart, then it's maybe not likely for Katy who's probably gonna have a major uphill climb when it comes to radio.

I hear ya, I didn’t feel much of a connection either. *** FAVS: I’M HIS HE’S MINE CRUSH (good lead potential) TRUTH GIMME GIMME (minus the feature) ALL THE LOVE NIRVANA
The album has a cohesive sound, I will give it that; although, WW feels out of place. It was a good decision to list it at the beginning of the album, so you can easily skip it. That being said, I don’t feel like listening again or saving any of the songs, but still a decent listen nonetheless.

Lifetimes is now officially the song I sing to my dog and he gets excited. Katy even said it can apply to pets, so I feel justified, LOL.

I want Katy to look outside her usual and continue to experiment with different producers who can give her the new pop and urban sounds. She is too much in her glory days sounds it's time to change it up.
And I love this page! So on point, and on topic and on track!

If she can get in the studio with a couple of fresher producers, I think she could still get a hit this era. Maybe not a massive one, but even a medium sized hit would save this era and help with her tour. For sure! A deluxe edition could absolutely give her the ability to retool, work with different people, and produce some new songs more aligned with what the public actually want from her! I've been hoping "I'm His, He's Mine" picks up, but I doubt given reception really anything from the standard edition of the album (particularly given 10/11 tracks are produced by Puke) will receive much if any noteable rotation. Lifetimes is now officially the song I sing to my dog and he gets excited. Katy even said it can apply to pets, so I feel justified, LOL. I think "Lifetimes" may be edging closer to my second favorite of the album. I feel like it was this close to a great song! The hook is just too damn catchy!

Gorrrrrrgeoousss has been stuck in my head since this morning. Yaaass! Quality wins!! The lines "I know that you wanna know my name, I know that you wanna play the game" give me "You used to be thirsty for me, but now you wanna be set free" from "Black Widow" vibes (which makes sense since Katy wrote both), and I love it!

its mindboggling to think it was a mere 613 weeks ago (roughly) that 21 came out.
