Oh crap, the VMA’s are on at the same time as the debate. I guess I’ll be watching the rerun cuz I’m not missing the debate! Ugh

They moved it :) The debate is going to be massive I'm assuming. They moved a lot of programming overall on other networks

She's on Instagram endorsing Balenciaga. Maybe she's spearheading her own demise for some Nickacado Avacado style social experiment at this point. 😂

I was kinda hoping she would try to recreate some of her iconic music videos on stage but at least it sounds like we’re getting a good number of songs. I hope each era is represented by at least one song.

My first thought was "Did the helicopter from the end of Woman's World get blown up?"

Katy also just won "VMAs Most Iconic Performance " - listen I'm sorry... but no lol. She beat out :
Beyoncé – "Love on Top" (2011) Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Madonna and Missy Elliott – "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" (2003) Eminem – "The Real Slim Shady" and "The Way I Am" (2000) Lady Gaga – "Paparazzi" (2009) Madonna – "Like a Virgin" (1984) Taylor Swift – "You Belong with Me" (2009)

Booooooo (sorry Katy) it should have been one of Madonna's or GaGa. The surprise fake blood in Paparazzi is one of the most iconic award show performances EVER along with the Britney/Madonna kiss.

I’m kinda shocked by the win for Roar. It’s a cute performance but Paparazzi, Love On Top, and Like A Virgin were all way more iconic when it comes to VMA performances. But I mean it is a fan voted awards show so I’m sure there’s more shocks to come.

She did great on her medley and she looked phenomenal! I can tell between her statement in her speech "a decade is NOT an accident" and her crying when she discovered she won a fan-voted award that all the backlash is seemingly getting to her a bit, which is unfortunate.
I hate that they're pushing "I'm His, He's Mine" as it's kinda blah. I still am wanting to hear "Gorgeous" in full.

Cool performance. The new songs stood out for all the wrong reasons though but to be fair to her it's almost always the case with these medleys.

It made me really excited again for the album. The negativity here really was getting to me but she is still one of the best. The TD is, to me, arguable one of the top 10 Eras in Music/Pop history. The songs are all still incredible. And I loved hearing the new song with Doechii. I think (Hope) it will be something from the era to latch on. Stellar job as a whole for the performance it was super fun

Katy’s Vanguard performance was great and really showcased why she deserved the Vanguard. Other than missing ‘Roar’ that performance was perfect. This performance got me more excited to hear ‘I’m His, He’s Mine’ and it was exactly what Katy needed right now.

Performance was fantastic.
LOL the preview for the performance on youtube says "Roar, E.T..." they must hate Dark Horse as much as me lmfao.

A great performance! To my surprise, "Lifetimes" works well with her greatest hits.
I secretly hoped that she picked "Hot N Cold" or "Part of Me" in lieu of "I Kissed a Girl", but the latter definitely got the audience vibing to it.

Yeah she has so many hits that I was kinda sad to see IKAG again. I get it but the song has been performed in all the ways it can be done already lol. Like on the Super Bowl that was amazing! I kinda wish she had gotten NRO instead but I know that's not really one of her biggest hits :/

A great performance! To my surprise, "Lifetimes" works well with her greatest hits. I think the same, it was a nice finish to the medley, and it didn't feel out of place like I'm His, He's Mine - don't get me wrong, it was one of the highlights imo, but not sure I liked it as part of the medley.

Katy looked great and sounded great. I too look forward to her 143 album and feel bad she went through so much crap. It is always so much harder for female artists. Either way, great night for Katy!

VMA Medley: "Dark Horse" "E.T." "I'm His, He's Mine" (with Doechii) "California Gurls" "Teenage Dream" "I Kissed a Girl" "Firework" "Lifetimes" Funny that she didn’t do Roar, but won an award for it. Also no Woman's World. Yikes!

Smart to leave WW off. Katy sounded strong and the Doechii scissoring was...a moment. The song actually has potential. Overall, B+. You could tell how hard she worked.

Great performance! She sounded great (especially during Firework) and she did a good number of the hits. The only one she really missed was Roar. The audience seemed to love it, including Taylor who they showed at the end of Firework. She was smiling, dancing and clapping. I also love the fact she did sexy and serious. No more ‘funny’
