So do we think this could actually get purged on Sunday, or next week? Does Alternative use the same threshold as Pop at #40?

R R PANIC! AT THE DISCO Viva Las Vengeance 292 497 -205 0.424
What a disappointing run. This will stay on Billboard for another week due to 3 Billboard-onlys still playing it moderately, but for this to be the first #1 since "Jumpsuit" to not even get to the 20 week mark is embarrassing. Even fast falling singles such as "Orphans" and "Oh Yeah!" got to 20 weeks.

Jumpsuit did make it 16 weeks before getting purged, since it started to stabilize after a horrendous plummet out of the top 25, so it beats VLV in overall longevity.
Also amusing is that Jumpsuit was purged on Alt on page 119 in the daily updates thread, which is currently on page 236. We very nearly had exactly 118 pages of updates per purged #1.
Last note: both Jumpsuit and VLV were the release singles for followups to blockbuster eras in terms of pop crossover (21P with 3 big hits in a row, Panic! with the megahit High Hopes and top 10 hit HLMIMI). The only purged Pop #1 I can think of, T. Swift's LWYMMD, was also the release single for a huge artist following their best Pop era ever.

That's quite unfortunate. I love this song ,and will be screaming along with Brendon for weeks to come.

I like Panic! a lot, but if this was released under the band name, “Teenage Wrist” or “Vegas Guys” it probably wouldn’t have made Top 40.
I’m not sure what to think of this era.

I did. It was pretty bad, though I haven't loved a Panic! record since Too Weird to Live (probably because Brendon still sounded better then, Dallon Weekes did a lot on that album, same with Spencer Smith.) I don't know, Brendon solo wise is very inconsistent in quality. Death of a Bachelor only had the title track and Impossible Year I loved, and everything else was meh or annoyed me. Pray for the Wicked, I don't even know anymore. Roaring 20's is obnoxiously good, One of the Drunks is good. High Hopes I don't hate anymore but I don't like either lol. And for this album, I only liked title track, Don't Let the Light Go Out and Say it Louder, and the reprise of the chorus of Viva Las Vengence is rather pretty to end the album on Do it to Death, but the rest is trash or boring to me. WE ARE THE NEW DEAD KENNEDYS, you're not, Brendon. anyway looking forward to the new IDKHOW when it drops. Concert with Joywave shall be fun in two days!
