REMIX!!! With Jo Dee Messina available now!!! It's just great to see Jo Dee actually taking part in this Cole's huge hit first with the music video cameo, and now with this remix. Hopefully, the success of this song and her involvement with this project would lead those who are not familiar with the 90s country to re-visit Jo Dee's original masterpiece and other iconic hits from the same era.

The remix seems a bit too late.

They needed to drop this remix a month or two ago. It's nice that they finally did it at all though, so I'll take it. Anything to give an uptick in public interest in the criminally underrated Jo Dee Messina.

The remix seems a bit too late. True, but looks like with the holiday freeze coming that they’ll just ride out the still impressive airplay for this. Probably getting new single end of the year

The remix seems a bit too late. I agree it seems late, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Cole team’s waited to release it closer to the CMA’s as I wouldn’t be surprised if Jo Dee makes a surprise appearance during his performance.

The remix is at country radio as well.
Also, the next single will likely impact in January. With the holidays coming up and really not many singles impacting after Thanksgiving, the right plan is to let radio programmers ride out “She Had Me at Heads Carolina” with heavy Airplay through the end of the year.

Omg I will be upset now if this DOESN'T happen. How iconic would that be?!

This morning Jo Dee Messina was announced as a performer for WeFest next august! I think i saw her like around 2005 so its been a super long time, i am excited to see her again! I don’t know if i love this remix but its alright. I definitely like each individual song on their own much better. Will def be cool if she sings with Cole on wed night though!

Lmao this should have had Jo Dee on it from the very beginning. But I'm so glad that we finally have her on it! And even more stoked that it sounds like current/new/re-recorded vocals rather than just splicing apart her original to remix it into this song.
Maybe now that we know beyond all reasonable doubt that she is familiar with the location of at least one modern recording studio, we'll get some new music from her??!?!?!?

Jo Dee popping up for this was such a great treat. Considering what she's been going through over the past several years, she looked and sounded great!

I have a friend in TN who works at a fast food restaurant and Cole came through the drive thru and asked her if she knew who he was and if she listened to Country. She told told him no and shut the window on him lmao. Thought it was hilarious and had to let you all know about it.
Anyways, love hearing Jo Dee again. Hope this leads to new music from her because it has been way too long

I have no interest in this song, but the only thing that could make me a little interested in it is Jo Dee Messina so I'm glad she performed with Cole on the awards. I really wasn't enjoying the performance at all tbh until she came on and saved it. Wonderful performer! She should have been on the studio too IMO.
There was a while there that I was actually starting to resent this song lol, like you can just essentially copy a melody of another song and change the lyrics and you have a hit on your hands that people are ranting and raving about being so amazing. However, it's clear that Jo Dee loves it and supports Cole so if she, the artist who recorded the original, has no problem with it I don't see why I should so I let that go lol. However... I don't like the song personally anyway. I don't care for the production at ALL and I find the melody (the parts that aren't carbon copied from the original) to be extremely bland. Also, while I do like Cole quite a bit, I don't think his voice really adds anything interesting to this whatsoever. So yeah... I'm still personally lost on this, but it's clear that Jo Dee and country fans are enjoying it so good for Cole I suppose.

I wonder if Cole is moving on to the next era after the holiday season. Personally, I hope he is going to release another single from the album once the recurrent play of this song drops, as Stereotype is a strong album, and he has good momentum now. How Is She is on repeat for me.

This song actually gained it's bullet back this week and is at #3 again this week and has spent the past 17 weeks in the Top 6 on the Billboard Airplay chart. I knew this song would have a fair amount of longevity but I didn't expect it to be this good.

Still really loving this one! I think Cole and his team are making the right call to wait until after the new year to reveal the next single. I’m hoping for “How Is She” but wouldn’t be totally surprised if they release something brand new.

Curious to see if this or "You Proof" gets the next week at #1 on Billboard this upcoming week as this song was only 21k off of the Billboard #1 last week and there is still enough of a gap between Morgan/Cole and the singles below them ("Son of a Sinner", "Down Hone", "What My World Spins Around") and looking at it's stats on AllAccess it doesn't look like "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" dropped hardly at all.
Really hope this can somehow snag one more week at #1, because I still hear this song so much (love it and crank it every time) and I would find it hilarious if this got back to #1 after almost a couple months.

I think it would be great if this could make it back to #1 somehow. If nothing else to show country radio that the strategy of sending every song to #1 after 45+ weeks isn’t working.

What's more fun is that we won't know the audience difference between #1 and #2 song because BDS website is no more and there will be no Country Update for next two weeks.

You know what; I won’t be mad to see this hit #1 again after like two months or so, because it’s such a great song. But it will make me laugh my ass off, lol.
I wanna see it happen too, if only to force the country radio industry to open their eyes and take a look around and start making some serious adjustments.

I love the version with Jo Dee on it! It would be quite interesting if the record went back to No.1.

They love the research for "She Had Me at Heads Carolina," as well as "You Proof." Consultants are telling programmers to keep them in heavy rotation. The Mediabase data being used for the audience rankings for Billboard Country Airplay is having an influence. Both songs' total points would have placed them at #5 on MB last week, but high audience totals because they're still in heavy rotation in big markets and in daytime hours, even if the spins have come down. They're getting massive daytime spins still. Programmers don't want to let Cole or Morgan's songs go.

How exactly is country radio having this go back to #1 going to make country radio open their eyes? They're the ones making it go back to the top spot, lol. I agree with you totally that radio needs a huge shake-up but this isn't it (unless I am missing something here).
