Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande - "Rain on Me"

Released on May 22, 2020 as the second single off Lady Gaga's sixth studio album "Chromatica" and is described by her as a "celebration of tears" because of the track's exploration of resilience in defiance of the hardships in life.

It debuted at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 on the chart week dating June 06, 2020 (now that I think about it, maybe I should've opened this thread last Monday which was the 2nd year anniversary of the song's #1 ascent) which caused Gaga's fifth and Ariana's fourth #1 single, an all-female duo collaboration to debut at the top, and for the latter all of her #1 singles debuting at #1.

While it is an enjoyable song for what it's worth, I don't revisit the song as much as I would want today.

This was the definition of a fast-food hit for me. It came, reached #1 and went.

As for the song itself, it's completely bland to me. Not overly catchy, not overly melodic, and the lyrics... I still cringe at that "Rain on me, tsunami" line.

I love this song! My favorite from Chromatica. Usually big name collaborations are a letdown but this one was a home run.

I really enjoyed this one at the time and I still do. It's such a cute, feel good song.

I still play the Az Paynter mashup remix which uses the Thunderpuss mixes of Enrique Iglesias' "Be With You" as the instrumental. I tried to get Chris Cox to play this version during his Twitch streams but he still has not.

Love this. Can't believe it's been two years though! It had a much better chart run in the UK (9 weeks top 5 until it went on ACR, as well as going to #1 in airplay). It's her 5th biggest hit here (behind "Just Dance"/"Bad Romance"/"Poker Face"/"Shallow").

It's actually grown on me a bit over the couple years. You wouldn't expect a Gaga & Ariana collab to flow so smoothly but it does! The end portion of the song is super fun
