Good Saturday afternoon, y'all! Let's go ahead and jump into this, shall we?! Here are a few things you can expect to see in the first set of reveals: - The first song to leave did not actually receive any rankings for last place
- Two songs that placed in the runners-up position from their respective albums will exit
- A total of seven top 10s will be lost
- Of those, one will be someone's runner-up
- Each decade will see at least one song bow out

It makes sense that the first song to leave would be from this album, but I think "Nobody Said That It Would Be Easy" just has such a smooth melody and vibe to it. I can't help but feel calm when I listen to it Definitely one of my favorites from one of his more experimental albums!

While it probably doesn't come as a shock to see the first song to exit be from Alan's Like Red on a Rose, what might come as a surprise is the fact that “Nobody Said That It Would Be Easy” came in not just ahead of the title track from the album tracks rankdown, but that it also was its runner-up. Despite the fact that this didn't receive any rankings for last place, this did remain a bottom 3 contender for its entire run and also came in as our fourth least polarizing song.

Leaving us next is "Write It in Red" which is an offering from Alan's most recent release Where Have You Gone. While this too was mostly a bottom 5 contender for the duration of its run, it only slipped back into the bottom 2 in the final moments when it picked up a second bottom 5. While this did. manage to pick up a top 20 from taylor, it wasn't enough to overcome the majority who ranked this somewhere down in the third-tier of their lists.

Also, sorry I never responded to the prediction prompts! Let me go ahead and do that:
1. What song will be #1? I think I'd feel safe placing a bet that this will be the George Strait duet. "Designated Drinker" has some real popularity both in real life and on Pulse, and Alan doesn't quite seem to have as many universally-agreed-to-be-missed-singles as some other artists do. That's not to say there's a lack of quality! But I just don't really see anything else having the universal acclaim to put up a fight against this one.
2. Which songs will make up the top 5/10? I bet "Never Loved Before" has a shot at the top 10. "Taillights Blue" and "Buicks To The Moon" feel like safe bets for the top 5. Maybe "The Sounds" and "A Little Bluer Than That" in the top 10? I could honestly see Freight Train album doing the best overall, with "After 17" and "Big Green Eyes" also being possible top 10 contenders.
3. What song will be in last place? "Nobody Said That It Would Be Easy" ;) But no, if I had done my predictions sooner, I would have probably predicted something from this same album, but maybe "The Firefly's Song" because it has a pretty quirky melody.
4. Which songs will be in the bottom 5/10? I'm gonna hold off on this one, as I feel like you've probably done more reveals while I was typing all this up...
5. Which album will be the first to be completely eliminated? Like Red On A Rose
6. Which album will be the last to still have multiple songs remaining? Freight Train, although it could easily be Drive too! I bet they'll both make it to the top 10 with multiple songs, and will be down to one song left within just a couple reveals of each other!
7. Any other thoughts or comments? As per usual with these album tracks rds, I have NO IDEA what to expect for the most part, and it is going to be extremely fun to watch unfold!

While the title track to Alan's sixteenth studio album finished as the runner-up in its respective album rankdown, "Freight Train" sees itself exit in the bottom 3 here. That means we've now seen two songs that finished as the runner-up leave very early into the competition. This also mostly remained a bottom 5 contender over the course of its run as it picked up a bottom 2 from George Strait Junkie. Unfortunately taylor loses back-to-back top 20s with bboat11 losing their first.

Alan's whole newest album hasn't had much time to grow on me yet, and it feels like the sort of project that is intended to be a grower, so I'm not surprised to see it lose a song already. I do like "Write It In Red", but it doesn't really stand out to me in a list of his all-time bests. LMAO right after I made a prediction that the Freight Train album might do the best overall But no, I didn't think the title track would do nearly as well as the others. I wasn't expecting bottom 3 for it, but still... This song has gotten catchier to me every time I have listened to it, but it does feel a bit more "generic uptempo country song" than the other entries from that album do. While something like "Taillights Blue" is clearly creative and among his best, the title track feels a bit more generic.

"Life or Love" is our next song to exit in the bottom 5 of which it actually only accumulated one ranking there from yours truly. Unfortunately, its exit also means kw9461 becomes our first participant to lose a top 10 while Kanenrá:ke loses a top 30. Much like the previous songs, this just didn't receive much top-level support for it to manage to get much higher.

I find "Life Or Love" to be one of the more forgettable songs on this list for whatever reason. Yet when I am revisiting it, it is just so damn catchy! That second half of the chorus, "I'm hangin' tough, I ain't had enough", etc. is such a classic Alan delivery, I'm glad to see this be in this rankdown even if it did kinda poorly.

“The Firefly’s Song” is the final song to exit the bottom 5 and as correctly predicted by bboat11 also means that Like Red on a Rose becomes the first studio album to be completely eliminated. This not only picked up a pair of last place rankings, but was also the most consistent contender to finish as such. It wasn't until the very end that it was able to jump ahead as it managed to pick up a top 15 from Kanenrá:ke as well as a top 10 from taylor.

Quirky, but so good! Lots of strong lyrics in this song, and that melody sure helps this to stand out! Totally makes sense to be bottom 5 in a context like this, but still one I am glad to see included.

“If Love Was a River” is the first song to bow out just as we enter the bottom 10. This did in fact pick up a trio of bottom 5s including a bottom 2 from bboat11. Unfortunately Kanenrá:ke and taylor continue the trend of shedding their top-tiered songs which includes a top 10 and top 15 here.

“I Don’t Need the Booze (To Get a Buzz On)” becomes the first song from Alan's 90s era to exit which takes with it a top 10 from gardyfan. Rankings for this were a bit muddled and all over the place. That said, a handful did slot this down inside their bottom 10 with both castleoblivion26 and taylor shedding their last place.

It's back-to-back loses for the 90s as “You Can’t Give Up on Love” leaves us next and taking with it a top 10 from yours truly. This in fact was a top 20 contender for the first half of its run as it picked up an additional top 15 from kw9461 and a top 30 from gardyfan. All of its four bottom 10s would come in the last half with Kanenrá:ke slotting this down inside his bottom 2.

In what is to come both as a shock and disappointment to bboat11, "Big Green Eyes" bows out next in the bottom 10 making him the first to also lose their runner-up. It might also come as a surprise to him that this in fact remained a bottom 10 contender for much of its run and only made a brief appearance in the top 30 with his ranking. Three participants in all ranked this down inside their bottom 10 with taylor giving this the bottom 2 treatment. Despite my near top 30 ranking, I too find myself a bit puzzled by the lukewarm response this has received both here and in its respective album rankdown. I think this is such an earworm and would've worked very well at country radio. It even sounds like something that would've been a big hit for him had it been something he recorded or released earlier on in his career.

“If You Want to Make Me Happy” is the final song to bow out inside the bottom 10 and unfortunately means kw9461 suffers their second top 10 loss. This in fact was never quite a contender to finish in the bottom 10 as it spent the majority of its run just outside of that. It even managed to reach the top 25 halfway through its run as it was buoyed by the support it received from kw9461's top 10 and castleoblivion26's near top 15. It eventually would settle back where it came to a rest at its lowest point in the rankdown thanks to a second bottom 5 ranking from Kanenrá:ke.
