Alan's cover of the Charley Pride classic “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” exits next and takes with it a top 5 from gardyfan as well as a top 10 from taylor. All but two participants placed this outside of their top 25 with those being a bottom 10 from kw9461 and a last place from George Strait Junkie (and the final one at that!).

“Ace of Hearts” exits next of which I'm sure bboat11 will be happy to see! This managed to hover in and around the top 20 for its entirety and in fact briefly flirted with the top 5 thanks to two near top 10s from both myself and gardyfan. That was countered with a lone bottom 10 from kw9461 which ended up pushing this back outside of the top 15 altogether where it would remain for the duration of its run. A near top 5 from taylor followed up by a near top 15 from Kanenrá:ke eventually brought this back into the top 20 in the final stretch.

Up next we see yet a third studio album bow out of contention after having just saw both High Mileage and Here in the Real World exit as well. The next song also just happened to be the highest-placing song from its parent album...what could it be?!

“The Thrill Is Back” bows out next which means When Somebody Loves You becomes the third album from this set to exit out of contention. Thanks to yours truly, this had to claw its way into the top 30 which it did with relative ease where it even briefly managed to flirt with the top 10. That's thanks to a string of support from the likes of castleoblivion26's top 5 and a trio of top 15s from bboat11, kw9461, and Kanenrá:ke. This very likely would've finished inside the top 15 had it not been for a late bottom 10 from taylor.

Drive continues to be a dominant force with three of its songs remaining intact. Will each one be able to make the top 10?! Stay tuned to find out as I unveil the next five songs later on this evening! I certainly hope so, as between "That's All I Need To Know", "1976", "Walk on the Rocks", "Tropical Depression", "She Just Started Liking Cheatin' Songs", "The Boot", etc. there are plenty of songs less deserving of a top 10 spot than all of them! (I do still like those songs, don't get me wrong! But the top 10 is PRIME real estate!)
Although our overall taste is so whack that the only one I am confident about is "Designated Drinker", and I still think it'll win the whole thing. I definitely think "The Sounds" could be a top 5 contender as well, but I could see a reality where "A Little Bluer Than That" gets tanked now.
Of his debut album tracks, "Dog River Blues" is catchy, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see it in the top 20! It's so surprising for me to see "Ace of Hearts" doing quite so well though. I definitely enjoy it, but it just feels so dated and unseasoned compared to the rest of his career. "Short Sweet Ride" s**ts all over both of these though. That chorus is so simple yet is the definition of ear candy. So of course that's the one that got tanked!
Lmao imagine disliking "Kiss An Angel Good Morning" though!!!! OMG at those low ranks!!! Although you definitely can't say that this is quite as iconic of a cover as "Right in the Palm of Your Hand", as there is no universe in which Alan's version has eclipsed the original by Charlie Pride in terms of popularity and fame the way that has happened with "Palm". The fact that that one was like twenty positions lower than this one is absolutely tragic.
"The Thrill Is Back" is such a catchy song! I love how the chorus kinda takes on a different feel from the verses, giving it a bit more tempo that puts it right in Alan's wheelhouse. Very well-deserved top 20!
"Hurtin' Comes Easy" is a pleasant surprise for the top 20! I feel like this one has a pretty simple vibe and melody, but it gets stuck in my head nonetheless. I don't know if I would have expected it to be top 20, as it's not one of his more blatantly flashy songs, but remembering how high I ranked it I'm definitely happy seeing it here!

I don’t hate Kiss an Angel Good morning at all I just love the original so much that I put the cover at the bottom here so ajs other tracks go higher as it can’t touch the original

Kicking things off inside the top 15 is “1976” which actually only managed to sneak inside towards the final stretch. With the majority of the group placing this somewhere inside their top 20, this managed to climb down from just outside of the bottom 10 thanks to yours truly. Both castleoblivion26 and taylor lose a top 10. This currently leaves Good Time with only "Never Loved Before" as the last remaining song from that album. Will Martina's addition be able to give the song the extra nudge to see it land inside the top 10?! Let's find out!

Despite being most a top 10 contender for the majority of its run, “She Just Started Liking Cheatin’ Songs” is next on the chopping block meaning Under the Influence joins the ranks of the other albums to bow out of contention. This actually briefly claimed the runners-up position thanks to its early support from myself with a near top 5 followed by a top 3 ranking from gardyfan. It wasn't until the last half when a lone bottom 10 from bboat11 pushed this back outside of the top 10 altogether. That would be followed up with a near bottom 10 from taylor which in turn almost pushed this outside of the top 20. It was Kanenrá:ke's final top 5 ranking that pushed this ahead just a few spots higher. Altogether this ended up clocking in as our tenth most polarizing song. This has long been one of my favorite covers from Under the Influence and more often than not is one of the few songs from that album that I like to put on just for the heck of it. I knew this likely wasn't going to end up making the top 10, but it would've been icing on the cake had it been able to do so.

While I'm sure there's a few here that were rooting for this to make the top 10, “Never Loved Before" exits next and was also the last remaining song from Good Time of which this managed to tie in points with "Small Town Southern Man" for the win from its parent album rankdown. Unfortunately @castleoblvion26 becomes the first participant to see their #1 song bow out while both Kanenrá:ke and taylor lose a top 5 with bboat11 right behind them. You have to go all the way down to outside the top 30 to find the remaining bunch as the other half would rank this outside of that with gardyfan placing this down inside his bottom 10. Given that, this in turn managed to be our third most polarizing song.

Thirty Miles West is the next studio album to bow out with the exit of “Look Her in the Eye and Lie”. I'm actually quite surprised at how well this performed as I certainly did not go into the rankdown thinking this would be one of the tracks to almost make the top 10. It just so happened that the majority of the group found a spot inside their top 20 for this with gardyfan ranking this in his top 5 followed by a top 10 from castleoblivion26. And despite this having to start off down inside the bottom 10 thanks to yours truly, this overall was a solid top 15 contender for much of its run.

"1976" is fine, but leaving now feels about right. It feels closer to filler to me than a "career-best album track", and now that we are approaching the top 10 there should only be songs in the latter category remaining!
Definitely enjoy "Cheating Songs" too, but would have preferred it directly swapped places with "Right in the Palm of Your Hand"!
"Never Loved Before" - I didn't want to get my hopes up about this making the top 10. As a Martina fan, I have learned to try not to overestimate her impact in rankdowns. Either way, this is definitely a missed hit opportunity, and I would have loved to see it in the top 10, but Alan does have better. (Although, "That's All I Need To Know" definitely does NOT count in that category, so......)
"Look Her In The Eye And Lie" is a fantastic song that could have placed anywhere from top 10 to just like top 30 without me questioning it, so I'm happy for it that it was able to do as well as it did! Personally I would have rather seen "Come Back as a Country Song" be the higher of the two, but I could have seen LHITEAL being a hit if it had been released! It feels a bit more substantive than "Long Way To Go" at the very least.
As far as #11 is concerned, "That's All I Need To Know" is by far the biggest outlier in this remaining list, so maybe that? I could see maybe "The Boot" as well, since Alan's newest album doesn't really strike me as one that I expected to contain any "best-of-career" type songs.

“That’s All I Need to Know” leaves just one point shy of making the top 10 and along with it means Don't Rock the Jukebox joins the ranks of albums that have exited. This is actually our first song to leave which remained a consisted top 15 contender for its entire run which is thanks in part to the early support it received from my top 5 followed up by gardyfan just outside of that. Other than bboat11's ranking, there really wasn't much middle ground here as this either was placed at or near the top of lists or down in the lower tier of which included a lone bottom 10 from Kanenrá:ke. Again, it was a photo finish between this and the next song for a placement in the top 10 as only one ended up separating the two.
