Originally known as "Savage Love", this is a song by New Zealand based music producer Jawsh 685 and singer Jason Derulo. This was released in June of 2020, following the resolution of sample clearance issues between the artists. A remix version with BTS was released later on in the song's run and it went to #1 in the U.S. and in many parts of the world.
The sample issue arose because Jason was teasing a song which sampled Jawsh 685's "Laxed (Siren Beat)" on social media and there was no mention of Jawsh 685 and fans of his voiced their outrage as did Jawsh 685. He was actually trying to shop the instrumental around to other artists. Eventually they reached a deal.

As much as I like Jason Derulo, I did not like this at all. I didn't find this interesting or exciting at all. I feel like the drama over the sample was actually far more memorable than the song.

This is the song that is deserving of TikTok-driven success. Even as just the beat alone, it had potential of being viral and Jason Derulo took the chance of making it a hit song (although at first didn't credit the original artist)
Even the version with BTS was good
