This is a pretty good song! It is cool to see it doing so well on streaming.

Looks like "original version" is served, even though Z&E's version/album version is much better.

Nice! I don't think it'll go super far beyond what it's doing right now and he definitely can thrive without radio play so I don't think this was strictly necessary but I guess why not try, right? I suppose I could move this over to the main forum instead of the non-singles forum in that case? I just don't really know if it needs to have an adds date for it to be on the main country forum (I know other genre forums are fine with serviced songs being there but idk about country).

I went ahead and made the move to the regular country forum. Since it's charting and being pushed, I don't see why not!

I am still completely lost on why this song/him as an artist has blown up so big. He has this bizarre quality to his voice almost... like he's singing off-key all the time or something. It's just not for me, lol. This is a bit better than some of the other songs I've heard from him and at least more on the tolerable side, but I can't imagine a song like this being a major airplay hit.

I agree with indulge that I still do not get they hype for him at all. I don't like the vocal arrangement and production of most of his outputs that I tried. Good for him finding a large fan base, but it's kinda hard for me to tolerate his music and yet, my local station decided to add this, which is grating.

This is on All Access’ Cool New Music, but it has not been sent to country radio through Play MPE, which all mainstream releases are sent through.
Maybe it will be soon but not on Play MPE yet.

If this makes the Hot 100 year-end chart, it'll be my favorite country song on such a list since...well, "Bluebird" two years ago, but before that, I believe I'd have to go all the way back to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" in 1979. The fact that it hasn't even needed radio to be stable, which is super-rare for country songs, is especially awesome. The captivating melodies and effective lyrics are the main assets, obviously, but also, something about the sound feels so much more authentic than usual. Music that really speaks to the soul, no bullshit attached.

Zach Bryan's voice is the definition of grating to me. I actually might like some of his music but I do not feel compelled to seek anything out from him because the second he starts singing, its like nails on a chalkboard to me. I do find this song to be pretty awful, however. The harmonica is so ugly and I'm just not a fan of the style or melody at all. I can't believe radio would want to play this, but I guess since he's blowing up it makes a little more sense.

Just heard this on the radio. What a trash song. I didn’t like his voice at all, he sounded off key and not produced at all and in this case that’s a bad thing. I also hated the production of the song itself. I wonder sometimes why certain songs connect the way they do with people and this is one of those times. This will forever be a station changer.

i guess i'm not surprised that fans of overpolished mainstream country would hate this but this is actually my favorite hit country song i've heard in a LONG long time precisely because of how raw and lofi it is ! personally i think the genre is at its best when it leans into its sadder, folkier side and this furfills that in spades. so elated this is up to #25 in its *21st* week on the hot 100, i can't remember the last time a song this noncommercial blew up this hard

This is a really good song and Zach Bryan has a good voice but he's going to have a tough time with country radio. He's more suited to the singer/songwriter and Acoustic Pop range of things than mainstream country but I'd love to see him somehow sneak through the charts with such a well-written song with a sound that's far different than anything else on the charts.

^^yeah i feel like the extremely polarized reaction on here 100% speaks to why a song like this would have trouble on country radio haha. honestly i'm surprised they haven't pushed this to aaa, that strikes me as the most natural fit for a song like this

I’m still shocked that a song like this is doing this well on the Hot 100. Not complaining though, it’s a great song! Hope it makes the Top 20 in a couple weeks.

I don't exactly love this song but it is so cool to see this song do so well on it's own metrics without much radio or mainstream help and be such an unexpected hit. I do think the guy is talented, just his voice isn't for me.

There’s other songs on the album that I think could work at radio, like “Mine Again” and “From Austin”. This one is a tougher sell despite how immensely popular it is. Wouldn’t be surprised if we look back 5 years from now and this song has a similar chart run to “Tennessee Whiskey”, where we remember it being a massive hit despite no radio play.

Very surprised at the comments on here, but I guess it makes sense. To me this is one of the best releases of the year. There's plenty more grating voices on Country Radio (Mitchell Tenpenny, Tyler Hubbard (although I do love FGL and his solo stuff lol))

One more thing to add: this entered the UK singles chart at #87 last week. This is something neither Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen has done.

My favorite part of this song is the production. I like the sound of it. Other than that, I’m not a big fan of his voice and the lyrics are nothing to write home about. I can see the appeal though, since this has now been on the Hot 100 for 21 weeks and still has a tight grip on the top 30.

I do think the guy is talented, just his voice isn't for me. This. 1000 times. Opens doors for people to hear acts like Childers, Sturgill, Turnpike etc etc as well. Can’t stand Zach’s voice but it’s very cool to see. He’s definitely a great writer

Going for adds now according to AllAccess under Country Spotlight Trax (I assume its add day is tomorrow then?)

Going for adds now according to AllAccess under Country Spotlight Trax (I assume its add day is tomorrow then?) “Impacting Now” in an article like the one on All Access (written by Phyllis Stark) is just a moniker given to singles sometimes — not necessarily meaning impacting the next Monday, which it isn’t. This has still technically not been sent to mainstream country radio through Play MPE, just listed on All Access, which happens sometimes. It has charted based on unsolicited airplay but Zach isn’t on Warner Nashville, but Warner Records. This could get an actual mainstream country radio push at some point but it hasn’t happened yet.

Zach Bryan is a great artist, but I think if he had gone with Heavy Eyes, at least for mainstream country radio (maybe?) it would be a hit. Something In The Orange is great, but I am reading here that there's another version... will have to look out for that one!

How is this still rising? I mean I'm not complaining because I absolutely love the Z&E's Version of this song. It's #6 on the all-genre streaming songs chart which is driving this ("You Proof" is at #5, "The Kind of Love We Make" is at #7 - three country songs in the top 10 of overall streaming is truly impressive), I never thought this would blow up like this but I'm really happy to see it!
