Decent yet unspectacular record. It's perfectly fine, but nothing really jumps out to me as something with high replay value. The Parker McCollum duet, "Road to Abilene," is probably the best track on it.
My biggest takeaway is that his cover of "The Blade" is horrendous. All I can think about is how limp his rendition is when compared to Ashley Monroe's. Her vocal performance is so cutting, and Ronnie's just doesn't hold a candle. 🤢🤮
That and the ghastly falsetto notes on the chorus "If Love Ever Comes My Way Again." Not sure what that was, but it was... a choice. 🥴
