This is off to a mostly good start, but "Spin the Bottle" should've been a bit higher. It's a bop.

my guess is we lose "Prettiest Wreck", "The World Goes On", and maybe "When I Think About Angels" (though I'm hoping "There Is No Arizona" leaves before that Angels)

My turn to lose a high rank "Sometimes It's Too Late" was a top 5 contender for much of the rankdown, but ended up getting a few unkind ranks towards the end. This one definitely took a few listens to grow on me when it was first released as a pre-release track, but once the growth happened, I became absolutely obsessed! To me the most amazing thing about this one is just how immaculate Jamie's voice is. The way she belts the second half of this song, she sounds like she could go toe-to-toe versus any 20-something who is at the top of their career right now! I'm SHOOK by that F#5 she belts at the end before suddenly tamping it back all the way to finishing the line in her head voice (the "you're THE love of my liiiiife" line). Truly one of the most underrated vocalists of all time In other news, it deceases me that the official upload on Jamie's YouTube has the single cover for "There Is No Arizona" I remember it being that way when it first came out, but I guess I assumed they would fix it!

Here's the top 7! Pretty much exactly what I would have expected, tbh.

I haven't had dinner yet, so I'm going to start cooking for a little bit. I'm going to keep going; the reveals will just slow down a little. I'm making stroganoff, so I'll have little pockets of time like while I'm waiting for the noodles to boil and stuff

"The World Goes On" is such an energetic, positive song, which was such a wonderful reintroduction to Jamie in the middle of the pandemic! I continue to like it more and more over time. Although tbh this song has never really felt like it fits the rest of the album, so to me this rank makes sense. It almost feels like a promotional single that was just tacked onto the next album for some reason, lol. Still great though!

I have enjoyed "The World Goes On" since it released. Definitely prefer some of the other tracks to this one so I'm good with it leaving here.

Idk, based on the timing of it all I'd say it was probably intentionally recorded for this album. Definitely still sounds like a one-off though

Ah what a shame. Wreck Me has a fantastic melody, and definitely one of my fav outputs from her. Jamie's vocal at the last chorus is really strong as well.

I don't really know why they went with "Wreck Me" for the one and only official single from this album. Her best bet at at least charting would have been to capitalize on the teeny tiny bit of momentum that she got from "The World Goes On" bringing her back out of complete irrelevancy. "Wreck Me" isn't nearly as radio-friendly as that one. "Closer To Closure" may have been an option for radio as well I suppose. But I really think her only bet at scraping the bottom of the charts would have been "The World Goes On". I'm not at all surprised to see "Wreck Me" bottom 3 in the singles rankdown that we did.
Nevertheless, "Wreck Me" is a solid song that has grown on me more and more every time I have ever listened to it! I still don't think it can compete with the absolute best of this album, but definitely okay seeing it come so close to the top 5!

One of Jamie's most beloved hits, with one of Jamie's most beloved peers! No wonder this would be incredible Of course one of my favorite things about this one is the way that it reassured me that Martina might still have a viable career ahead of her as a recording artist, lmao. Around the start of the pandemic her voice seemed to me like she was struggling worse than ever before when she was on tour with Blake Shelton and stuff, but "Girls Like Me" and then this one reassured me that she's still got it, even if her sound is a little bit different. I am SO happy to hear her hitting high E5s in the harmonies at the end of this song! Plus her live vocals have continued to get stronger recently as well. Now if she would just get in the studio and record some new damn songs already!

I LOVE "Prettiest Wreck" - easily one of my favorite new songs on this album! The melody is so catchy, and I love that it is one of the countriest jams on this album. My only complaint is that the production is a little bit muddy, so the whole thing feels a bit too wall-of-sound-ish sometimes when I'm not in the right mood for it. Nevertheless, I am so happy to see this be the second highest of the new songs! This one and "Closer To Closure" were worth the creation of the whole album, imo!

Nah, Arizona should have made the top 2. Sure, it does not beat the original, but I think their harmony is pretty solid.

It makes sense that Jamie would invite Martina and Sara to collaborate on her album since they were all peers having hits at the same time, and Aliyah as her daughter, but for Lauren Alaina I feel like this offer to join Jamie on her signature hit can be nothing other than an example of how beloved she is becoming behind-the-scenes in Music City. Good for her! I LOVE this re-recording!!! Easily my favorite revamp on the album tbh, which is AMAZING for Lauren considering that her competition is Martina and Sara, my two favorite female vocalists of all time But man, she ate this one for lunch! And it's not just Lauren. I am absolutely SHOOK by Jamie's high harmonies during Lauren's chorus as well. Honestly, those high harmonies from Jamie are among my favorite vocals of her entire career. She still sounds sooooooo good

Not surprised at all by this top 3 and it played out exactly how I would've expected!
Lauren Alaina and Jamie O'Neal trading off glory notes is *chef's kiss*. Sara Evans elevates "Atlantis" more than any of the other features on the record for me tho, esp. since the OG was never one of my faves from Jamie back in the day, whereas "Arizona" is the go-to/classic/signature Jamie hit. And "Closure" is 100% the best option for radio play they could've gone with if they wanted to try and get her a late career hit. What a trendy BOP!

There you have it! It was absolutely no competition, as despite nathanalbright 's hating ways, "Closer To Closure" was without question our winner from the very beginning. I TOOK YOUR SONGS OFF MY PLAYLIST, YOU'RE NOT ON MY A-LIST, BURNED UP ALL YOUR TSHIRTS, NOW THEY'RE NOTHING BUT ASH!!!!! I cannot tell you how deeply this melody has worked its hooks into my brain. There has literally never been a moment in the last 2 years when this song has not been stuck in my head, nor has there ever been a moment when I have grown even remotely tired of that fact! The lyrics may sound a tad too "modern" coming from a 50-something like Jamie, but I definitely don't think anyone would even notice unless they know who she is. It's not like she sounds out of place, since again, her voice is still as fresh and powerful as it was at the beginning of her career. I'm SO glad to see this song finally getting some flowers somewhere, as it has honesty become one of my favorite things that Jamie has ever done.
Sara Evans is never someone that can be bet against in rankdowns, and she turns in another fine performance here! "Trying To Find Atlantis" is far from being one of my favorites from Jamie, but Sara definitely helps! I feel that the production of this one feels a little bit weaker than the other covers on this album. But as with the other covers, I am SHOOK by the heights that Sara reaches as well! She belts a high F5 in the harmonies coming out of the second chorus, which is a note she has only ever done once before during "Big Cry". I'm SO hoping that Sara has more new music coming this year, as she's been hinting for a few months now!

"Jealousy" wasn't my last place but it makes a lot of sense going out first. Jamie tends to shine on ballads a bit more so it would've surprised me to see one out first. 2.0 song wasn't going to go out first either. Still love this one though. I'm very glad to know I wasn't the only one to love "Someone's Sometimes". Like castleoblivion26 I didn't love it at first but I keep going back to it and it's grown on me so much. Such a beautiful song and they sound amazing together. Lauren's feature on "Arizona" is simply brilliant. The other 2.0 songs work well but this one actually brings something new to the song imo. I'd kill to have this made into a music video. and "Closer To Closure" would be a smash if she was still a radio artist with a label backing. Catchy as anything I've ever heard, somebody better snatch this up in the coming years and release it. Callista Clark make it happen!
