I’m hoping they hold off on a new single and help push “Longneck Way To Go” up the charts.

Read somewhere that “Your Heart or Mine” will be the next single. Not sure when it’s going to radio though. No surprise, but this album is great. I especially like “Raincheck”, “Santa Cruz”, “Your Heart or Mine”, “Reverse Cowgirl”, and “Mr Saturday Night” in addition to both singles previously released.

Gave the album one listen and there were some solid songs on there, but nothing grabbed me quite like "Reverse Cowgirl." Wow. Definitely the best song he's put out in his career thus far aside from "She Ain't in It." I figured the title was going to be a bit of a throw-off from how the song would actually sound, and yeah, it follows the common trope of comma hook songs that are popular in country lately, which I personally LOVE. His voice sounds incredible on songs like that. I need more of those and less stuff like "Fill 'Er Up" from Jon Pardi.

Seeing the cover artwork, I had initially assumed there was going to be a major shift in Jon’s sound, and I’m glad that wasn’t entirely the case here. This record once again proves just how great he is as an artist who is bringing those neotraditional sounds of country music back, the sounds that make this genre what it is and give the genre its identity, much like such artists as George Strait and Reba McEntire had done back in the day, and he’s certainly going to be remembered for that.
All that said, I unfortunately don’t have much passion for this album. While I enjoy a couple songs here and there, overall it just felt like the album plodded along, which is something that, in my opinion, can’t be said about his previous albums. I will say that I couldn’t stand “Smokin’ a Doobie.” The second he butchered the Spanish in that chorus, I checked out. There are some wonderful tracks here though, such as the lead single “Last Night Lonely,” and particularly “Reverse Cowgirl.” I thought that one would be atrocious based on its quite suggestive title, but it turned out that the play on those words lent itself to a great tune with some killer fiddle. And were those backing vocals by none other than Miranda Lambert, or was I hearing things?! Certainly my favorite on the album, no contest. I’d love to see it become a single.

I was also initially worried he’d change his sound for this album based off some studio snippets earlier, but I was wrong. Another excellent record
Title track, Reverse Cowgirl and Raincheck are my favorites, also love the chorus of Smokin a Doobie
Your Heart or Mine will be another big hit for him, and I also really like the odds of Working on a New One blowing up
