OMG A CONAN ARTIST THREAD   I just found my new favorite spot on Pulse.

I’m so ready for this new era, everything has been a serve visually and sonically. It seems like Conan has had a vision for a long time about where he wants his sound to go and how he wants his artistry to evolve.

Oh, and can we talk for a second about the David Bowie teas he’s giving us with this album cover? I hope we hear 80s pop rock all over these tracks.

Shania Twain being a Conan stan is huge to me……the taste she has, and the fact Conan must’ve listened to her religiously as a kid, and here he is meeting her and having her listening to HIS music. What a full circle moment.

Conan was on the Zach Sang Show earlier this week in preparation for “Lonely Dancers,” which comes out tonight. In it, Conan dishes on what we can expect from Found Heaven, what it was like working with such heavy-hitters like Max Martin for the album, and how it felt to fall in requited love and then have it blown up in his face out of the blue while being incredibly sick.

“Lonely Dancers” and its music video are out now! Y’all, I really think this is shaping up to be his best album yet. He’s been 3/4 on first listens, and now even that one miss (“Killing Me”) has grown on me to the point I can’t stop listening. I’m SO excited for April 5.

(P.S. Conan choreographed the dancing in the video himself, and you can tell. It’s just so him. Perhaps one of his best music videos as well.)

Yeah I’ve pretty much accepted that this album is not gunna be for me. The return to the retro 80s vibe is very tired in my opinion.

Agreed and I don't think he is doing anything particularly fresh or different with it, either. On top of that, it's somewhat of an awkward fit. His sweet spot is songs like Astronomy, Movies, and Yours.

Nah. Alley Rose isn't it either. It sounds like he is trying to create a lost Elton John b-side and the tempo switch was kinda jarring. I didn't listen to the full song, but I got enough. Movies came up on shuffle and that song still takes my breath away but...let me know if there is an Astronomy or Yours on this record please.

taylor number one Conan fan and dead silent on release date, smh. JK girl! Hope you are enjoying the album. Sadly, listening to the songs left me cold. It looks like Winner is a winner for me, at least, based on the passion and what I loved about Conan's last album, but that's really it. Also, these are Tik-Tok jingles, not songs. Unless your album is pure perfection, an album that is little over a half hour is not it.

I listened to the album and promptly died, lol. Don’t worry, I WILL be shoving this album down Pulse’s throat 😊

I absolutely love this album……and even as a Superache girlie, I’m genuinely of the belief that this is his best album yet. So many songs are stuck in my head and there’s not one skip on the entire record. A+ from me.

I am a fan of his debut and a HUGE fan of “Superache” but I have to say this new album just isn’t very good, and I’ve tried and tried all weekend and yesterday to get into it. It doesn’t feel like a Conan Gray record to me, it feels like a bad 80s album.

The lyrics aren’t even very Conan and the melodies for sure are not very Conan. The one song I enjoy is “Alley Rose” and it would have made sense on the last record, so that’s probably why I like it.

I am all for artists trying new sounds and not having everything feel/sound the same, but I feel like this album just sounds the same as a bunch of other records the last handful of years. This retro 80s sound is too common now and isn’t where he excelled so well the last record, which was singer/songwriter with a touch of pop.

I’ll pass on this one, but still be ready for the next.

You summed up exactly how I feel and I have only heard clips. I'm sad because Superache was SO amazing that I couldn't wait to hear what he did next and when I heard synth and plasticky sound, I was like oh no...Hopefully, it's just a phase and he goes back to what makes him special, i.e. the O.G. Olivia Rodrigo.

I’m so glad someone other than me sees the vision! To each their own of course, but it’s been a bit saddening to see the reception to the record. After sitting with it this past week, this lands for me as his best album yet—his voice is incredible throughout (the stratosphere to which he brings his register in the background of some of these songs is mind-blowing) with a peek into his lower register on many songs which I was hoping he’d explore more with this album, and it’s worth noting that when he recorded this album he was suffering tonsillitis. And he still sounded like he does on the album. If that’s not talent, I don’t know what is. The lyrics on some of these tracks are insane, and there’s even a couple that I think Taylor Swift could’ve come up with. And this production for me is just FUN, this album is FUN. This kind of fun sounding record is something that I think Conan needed in his discography, in order to bring some variety into it. He shouldn’t have to be restricted to making completely depressing music his entire career imo. It’s a record that was made to be performed live, and I can’t wait to experience that in October! I’m so excited, it’s the day after my birthday. And I’ll be streaming and listening over and over until then!
