I guess for me the lyrics of Numb Little Bug feel a bit cringey in a way that AJR’s songs are. I think the production on the song is where I draw the biggest comparison though. It’s got that simplistic sounding piano beat going on that I’ve noticed in AJR songs, and like idk there’s something else about the vibe of the song that just sounds similar. I kinda hear it with the artist Jax too.

Don’t get me wrong, I recognize that Em Beihold is better than AJR (I wouldn’t say by a crazy amount but definitely better), but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hear similarities between this and AJR

9. Everything Em said hits me. This song is fantastic. (#5)
8. Really hear the production from the Bad Doctor here. This is a miss. (#20)
7. Another enjoyable song, but only when I'm in the mood. It can kinda get annoying when I'm not in the mood. (#14)
6. Just a nice tune from Harry. Can never go wrong with that! [Also make Music from a Sushi Restaurant a hit, please] (#6)

i didn't enjoy nlb when i first heard it for march madness but i bumped into it again trying to keep up with new music before this opened and... i don't know, em does a really good job at making me empathize with her compared to other artists that have sung about the same thing, it's hard to clarify. the way the music sounds was out of my plane of thought, it's not why people enjoy it and unless the composer just can't make music at all, in most genres to me it's more about it being played out well down to the details whenever i can

I gotta call NASA or whatever about the new perpetual motion machine I just discovered because Tití Me Preguntó will just NOT stop getting better with every listen. It's like the Willy Wonka three course gum but instead of a meal I go through an entire party in four minutes. The pacing and the buildup and when it all comes crashing down is insane.

Onnn the other hand... Ghost might be the most soured song of mine from the start of this year. I still like it, but if we did this in spring it might've been my #2. I slowly realized it's way too short for its own good and that the haunting (but still kinda banger) instrumental isn't as moving as it once was.

Numb Little Bug is indeed a good AJR song, no one can deny that, but you gotta remember that "good" is part of that qualifier.
