I may have underranked this. I didn' t care for the original (by James Hand) but the production here sure is tasteful.

Meh. Two #100s remain in the rankdown.

Not particularly interesting for him. There are better bluegrass music in this rankdown too.

+9 places from AAA rankdown. More of the same stuff by The Black Keys.

The main riff is just Happy Pills, coupled with some really odd chord changes in the middle and slightly awkward vocal melody. I also don't understand why this group is considered Americana. Only one #100 remains.

I feel this represents the standard Americana sound.

Ok I was wondering when Brightside would leave, glad it’s finally out.
Also Making Do was nice but not the best song from them on this list

The last song to have a #100 rank. +20 places from AAA rankdown. Nathaniel Rateliff has largely grown off me with his solo album and the latest group album. They lack the pure wild energy of his earlier works.

A nice fit John Prine cover from Sturgill.

I expected this to be much lower. The loud drums after every line of verses and the repetitive groove annoy me.

I hope we're in for a #CrockettSweep next year.
Interested to see how Plains, Calexico, Father John Misty, Andrew Bird and (particularly because it probably will sound different from the other songs) St. Paul & the Broken Bones do. And especially Big Time because I prefer Olsen's solo version than with Sturgill, and I typically like him - imo he just doesn't add to the song.
Got into Persephone pretty late but I hope it does well anyway.

Well Daryl the Beryl you cannot come in the thread at a more perfect time, as this is the song in the 2021 Wintertime Madness that started the concept of this rankdown. Hope I'm Just A Clown would do a lot better in the next year's rankdown, though.

I don't know I needed Sturgill to sing latin flavored music, and the results are not half bad. Willie Nelson is here by guitar only I think.
