kiss it better by rihanna. it is very critically acclaimed, but only peaked at like #60 on the hot 100 but it’s one of her most streamed songs daily on spotify, usually in the top 20. desperado is also a good pick but that one was already mentioned

Zara Larsson - All the Time Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World Miley Cyrus - Slide Away Beyoncé - Countdown The Weeknd - In Your Eyes Katy Perry - Harleys in Hawaii Ariana Grande - Touch It Daya - Insomnia Young the Giant - Cough Syrup Victoria Monet - Experience Sabrina Claudio - Rumors Niykee Heaton - Bad Intentions
This list seems really random, but I feel like the older songs we've seen turn into surprise hits have fallen into a few different categories, so theoretically anything is possible?
I excluded songs that were minor hits but deserved to smash (like Midnight Sky) and non-hits that are well-known/remembered (like Slow Dancing in the Dark). I'd be happy to see those smash too though!

Janet Jackson - Feedback/Burnitup Rihanna - Bitch better have my money Adassa & Pitbull - Kamasutra Ciara - Overdose Jessica Simpson - A public affair Heidi Montag - Superficial Beyonce - Partition

I'd love to see an Aaliyah album track smash, now that her catalog is out there again. I don't care which one as long as it's not from her debut.

Holding Out For A Hero (although Shrek already made it justice and it is now well-known, I was surprised it only peaked at #34).
Gimme Gimme Gimme and The Winner Takes It All, both by Abba. Honestly, Abba deserved higher chart-success.
Birthday / Walking On Air / Legendary Lovers. PRISM could have been as huge as Teenage Dream with its singles. I mean, the quality is right there.
Other songs: Run Away With Me - by Carly Rae Jepsen -, Less than Zero - by The Weeknd -, 911 - by Lady Gaga -, Greenlight & Hommemade Dynamite by Lorde.

Way too many songs to put here, but the one that's been on my mind recently? Gary Clark Jr's, "This Land".
It's incredible that it had as much reach / resonance as it did, even to the point of Grammy recognition.

Angels Like You is surging on global streaming and I’m praying it becomes the RUTH of this summer…
Would also love to see a Bjork song like Hyperballad have a moment with use in a TV series or something.

I second "Hyperballad".
My pick would be "Fade Into You" by Mazzy Star. I think it could really do something if it was given a chance. It's a similar case to RUTH for me.

It wasn’t a single but “Cruel Summer” is Taylor Swift’s career-definer that got away. That could’ve spent the entirety of May-August 2019 at the top of the Hot 100 as the lead to Lover, and would’ve given the album the legs to hold up against the likes of 1989. I still want it as a single to this day. You may just get your wish

I want to bring this back for a minute because I know two songs that I would like to see this for since they've been going viral on TikTok.
