Meh. A low impact song, although really Crazy Angels and Pink Champagne seem like the only 2 songs to be above low impact. Hopefully it can do well on radio at least.

Okay well I at least hope we get an official music video that isn't just a live performance. I am unsure how I feel about it being a single but here we are.

The single cover is alright, but the shadow on her face is bothering me lol. This single cover feels like it’s an out take for a Pink Champagne single cover.

I feel like the picture of the album booklet page that PC’s lyrics reside on would be the cover art if it were a single. HMH’s picture here makes a lot of sense to me: she’s in the bar she’s wishing she was at, looking forlorn over the fact that her heart can’t get over the guy she was with, despite the fact that her mind is.
Anyways I choose to believe the similarities to the two pictures are an Easter egg for “Pink Champagne” being single #3. Hoping this flies up the charts (hell, even by comparison to country radio standards—this doesn’t have to be a Combs-sized soarer) so that that scenario can happen quickly enough to get “Burn” to close out the era.

I mean maybe it's just me but 9 times out of 10 I don't care about single artwork, as this seems pretty much there and nothing about it stands out as is the case with most single artworks.

Completely agree. The last one I liked (and honestly it’s one of the few I can even remember) was Dirty Laundry. That single cover was absolutely perfect!

I thought her Drinking Alone single art was perfect. That's probably the last one I've really liked.

Love the single. Think it's going to do well on radio. I see Burn and VH following. Carrie takes a lot of time btwn albums, so I do think she'll go four singles deep. I could be wrong as it's JMO lol Also, I think the single art is gorg. Love the jumpsuit she's wearing. Just realized she's wearing jeans and a top. Still love it. lol

I’m not even gonna try to predict how this will do, i mean we can’t even rely on good testing(unless you’re a dude) but i will say this song was/is much more immediate than GS so it does have that going for it, and i can see why they are saying its a song that you can sing along to which i think bodes well for it. Can’t wait to hear it on the radio and see her on tour once again in just a few weeks!

Not a fan and still disappointed, but it's better than Ghost Story for sure.
So I hope this does better on the charts too. At least make it worth it!

Wow Carrie what are you doing anymore. 😭 not a fan of this either. I wish she would release better music again like she was doing on literally every other album.

Honestly, HMH is the Southbound of this album. It’s not anyone’s favorite, but you can’t deny that it will probably appeal better to country radio than GS. If GS can hit #6, then anything is possible with this one. It’s not the single I would’ve picked, but they could’ve easily done way worse.

I've already vented my feelings about the way the album was rolled out in terms of promo and official singles, and what's done is done, but since Ghost Story was first I really think Hate My Heart was the absolute best choice for single number two. Outside of Pink Champagne, which grabbed me immediately and I still find myself gravitating to (and a top 5 on my running playlist), it's the catchiest, most infectious song.
Also, I like it better than Velvet Heartbreak live. We've heard it twice now during 'I Heart' and 'Amazon' and she sings the hell out of it.

After hearing this in concert, I do think this is a solid choice and should do well on country radio. I just hope radio doesn’t completely drop her once she hits 40, because they have a habit of doing that to female country singers.

I just hope radio doesn’t completely drop her once she hits 40, because they have a habit of doing that to female country singers. I can see her being one of the rare exceptions and having a bit of a longer shelf-life like Reba McEntire and get some solid hits past her "prime." Even now, she's transitioned down a peg from everything she touches blasts to #1 to everything she releases is at least a solid top 10 hit (or close to it) with a bit slower chart climbs. I don't see her completely falling off hard and fast the way most other women have once they reach this age bracket, similar to Reba.

Reba was still hitting #1 occasionally as recent as 2010 at the age of 55. No reason Carrie can't do the same.

I like this, and think it's a decent choice for the second single. I still think that "She Don't Know" is the out of the box hit waiting to happen, but if they wanted to play it safe, this is a good choice. I imagine it should hit the top 5 at least.

A great start for Miss. Underwood. Radio has been missing the country/rock side of her. I know I have.

That’s great. Glad to see a female get more than 40 on not a lead single.
