Something I've thought about on and off lately; this could be more anecdotal than anything, but I'm curious what examples people can think of where a remix has been played on the radio instead of the original version. Doesn't necessarily have to be the version being promoted either, but whatever version your station happens to have in rotation.
As far as promoted singles go, I believe the Thunderpuss remix of Whitney's 'It's Not Right, But It's Okay' was the radio version, and more recently we had the remix of 'The Hanging Tree' by Jennifer Lawrence and James Newton Howard.
On a more local note, my current station here in Melbourne (Nova) seems to have a thing for Luca Schreiner remixes because they playlisted his versions of the following:
Sam Fischer - This City Tate McRae - You Broke Me First Jaymes Young - Infinity
I think they also played the Luca Schreiner remix of Sam's follow-up 'Hopeless Romantic'.
Also a long time ago (like 20+ years?) my then-station played the Trouser Enthusiasts remix of Aussie boy band Human Nature's 'Be There With You'. Absolutely loved the remix, total trance banger - but the original is a milquetoast ballad. Dunno why the remix was that station's go-to version.
Anyone else heard a dance/EDM remix of something on the radio instead of the original?

in the late 90's radio played both the ballad and dance mix of Toni Braxton's Unbreak My Heart.

Idk what specific dance remixes they were, but in terms of my local station, they played dance mixes of Dan + Shay’s “Speechless,” X Ambassadors’ “Unsteady” and John Legend’s “All of Me.” That last one was very interesting to hear as a dance mix to say the least lol.

This is actually what happened to Mike Posner's "I Took A Pill in Ibiza" when it became a big radio hit. The version everyone knows is a dance remix by Seeb. The original version is more of a belaboured, slow, acoustic guitar type thing. The dance remix is definitely superior, in my opinion; I think the contrast between the sad lyrics and the upbeat music is what gives the song it's bite, similar to "I Could Never Take the Place of your Man" by Prince or "Dancing on my Own" by Robyn. The original isn't bad, though, just different.
Also, hey, remember when the radio kept playing a dance remix of Lana del Rey's Summertime Sadness? I did not care for that.

Ahh yes, I remember the SeeB remix of Mike Posner being the main version. And Cedric Gervais did the 'Summertime Sadness' remix (he also remixed 'Young & Beautiful' but that song was never pushed in either original or remix form).
I think John Legend was a Tiesto remix? Tiesto also did a remix of Calum Scott's version of 'Dancing On My Own', I think that's the version that gets played on my station as a recurrent.

This only half-fits, but the Ruff & Jam Remix of Kylie's "Love At First Sight" promoted in North America gave it a harder, staccato electronic bite than the smoother original.
DHT had the opposite where radio played the ballad version of their cover of "Listen To Your Heart" more than the original dance version.
Some I'm not sure of are Deborah Cox's "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" and Tamia's "Stranger in My House".
I also have a vague memory of listening to a LQ stream of a dance remix on AllAccess.com in the late 2000s because I liked that version better than the album version, but I have no idea what TF song that was.

I think John Legend was a Tiesto remix? Yeah that was Tiësto's Birthday Treatment Remix. Speaking of Seeb I recall hearing their remix of Taylor Swift’s Delicate on the radio too. Also the Seamus Haji radio remix of Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, prefer the latter over the original actually.

"Sit Next To Me" by Foster the People had the Stereotypes remix played by some stations (I actually think both versions are good for different reasons).

I just remembered this one; I think my station played the Madism remix of JP Saxe and Julia Michaels' 'If The World Was Ending'.

A couple more I just remembered;
Melanie C - I Turn To You (Hex Hector) The Gossip - Heavy Cross (Fred Falke)
The Hex mix was the main single version of ITTY, and ultimately won Hex Hector a Grammy for Best Remixer. When HC was a top 10 hit in Australia, I'm fairly confident it was based on the Fred Falke remix. I may have heard the original on the radio too occasionally, but I believe the remix was the popular version here.

Radio Disney originally played the album version of Naturally by Selena Gomez & The Scene but later on they switched to Naturally (Dave Audé Remix).

My station switched to playing the Fat Max G remix of Taylor Swift's "Message in a Bottle" after a few months of playing the original.

Off the top of my head:
Gabrielle - Dreams (The Red Underground Mix) George Michael - Star People (Forthright Radio Edit) Gloria Estefan - I'm Not Giving You Up (Tony Moran Radio Edit) Janet Jackson- Because of Love (Frankie & David 7" Version) Madonna - Secret (Junior's Luscious Single Mix) Madonna - Human Nature (Danny Tenaglia Radio Edit) Madonna - Nothing Really Matters (Club 69 Radio Edit) Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms (Junior Vasquez Single Mix) - I used to hear both the original and this version played a lot Billie Ray Martin - Running Around Town (Tony Moran Remix) New Life Crisis - Daylight (Tony Moran Remix) Da Buzz - Let Me Love You (Hex Hector & Dezrok Radio Mix) Mariah Carey - Always Be My Baby (Def Classic Radio Version) EnVogue - What Is Love (Club Mix)
It was much more common in the '90s/early 2000's to hear dance remixes of songs played instead of the original on pop radio.

With Taylor's new era upon us I'm reminded that my station played the Dancing Witch mix of 'Willow'. I don't recall if this was the general CHR move but I wouldn't be surprised. Elvira's production was easily more pop radio-friendly than the original version.

Also, I love how the beginning of the video you linked shows the uploader pressing play on another user's YouTube video for the audio lmao.

I was 19 when this song was released and being a teenager I thought it was annoying but I like it now. Edit 08/05/2023: I heard the original version in the grocery store on Friday.

Starsailor - Four To The Floor (Jacques Lu Cont Thin White Duke Mix)
Was just thinking about this one the other day. This was the popular version here in Australia, I definitely heard it on the radio. Wiki doesn't say the remix was pushed as the main single version anywhere but I'm pretty sure in Australia at least, it was.

I heard the Ian Asher remix of Jain's 'Makeba' on the radio today. I heard the original a couple of weeks ago, so IDK if my station is jumping on the remix as their go-to version now.

My local Top 40 station in Boston only played Whitney’s dance versions of “It’s Not Right But It’s Ok and My Love Is Your Love” I think I heard the originals on our local Rhythmic top station, but I think they switched it out to the dance mixes eventually. At that time we had a new dance station so I didn’t listen to Rhythmic radio as much so I could be wrong.

I remember a trap version of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" when I was young that would play consistently along with the original version, couldn't find it since.

Lana Del Rey " Young And Beautiful" DH Orchestra version is the main version use over her album version. From the "Great Gatsby" movie and cd Soundtrack. Not a dance song but this remix is better that the album version. Has some great bass in the song, (if you are using book shelf or floor speakers.)
