This isn't as bad as I remembered it being.
It helps that they made much worse songs after this.
We should probably re-do 2017 Alt so that "Oxygen" can actually escape the bottom 30 this time

"Lay Me Down" is not that bad as other Dirty Heads' songs I've heard.

Trying to find something valuable/witty to say about The Outsiders by NEEDTOBREATHE, and just like. Nothing is coming to me NEEDTOBREATHE had a song in a Dawn soap commercial c. 2010 where they washed a baby duck, I remember that.

Not quite on the level of "Drive All Night", but still a decent distance ahead of "The Heart", so this makes sense.
As a horse man, I also approve of that cover art.

Here I was going to regale the participants in this rankdown with the story of my newly acquired wine fridge because I have literally nothing to say about this Colbie Caillat song, but I'm like, going straight to bed after this, so we'll save that for a different time. Also, behind but. Congrats to @trilogy, aerodynamite, and Red for clearing your bottom 10s with Everybody. And congrats recordyear, BlurryKyle, and rowellfarm490 for clearing your bottom 10s here. I'll post stats in the morning.

The nostalgia from hearing Smile made it just just barely escape my bottom ten. What can I say, I liked the shopping mall tunes when I was ten.
Michael Franti songs are bad but they're so harmlessly bad that every time I see his rankdown history I feel like a bully.
The lyrics on Hey, Soul Sister are not the problem and anyone who thinks they are just ain't a fun person, smh. The real problem that makes it unlistenable is Pat Monahan's constant squeaking! Like, he's never a great singer but WHY does he do THAT on this track?? And why is he squeaking on all the wrong syllables, too?
When I realized what song Home was I actually flinched.

These Franti songs deserved better…at bare minimum they should’ve been higher than the Train crap.
Can I be tagged on results?

I have a total of 86 extras for this year, including the ones that were only top 50s on Mediabase (there's 60 of those). So I'm going to start with those and do them 5 to a post, then I'll start posting the Billboard extras in single posts after getting through those (wish I had started this earlier, only discovered the MB extras yesterday :}) Old Man Chicago - Alberta Cross
Not familiar with this band, but a pretty solid rock track
Faith - Alejandro Escovedo
2010 was a pretty big year for Alejandro here. Apparently he's been active since 1992. And this song does sound very late 80s/early 90s.
Big Appetite - ALO
Animal Liberation Orchestra have two songs as extras here. These guys are on Jack Johnson's label, and I swear every song they've charted with just sounds like a Jack Johnson song. Also this music video gives me a headache.
Man of the World - ALO
I like Big Appetite more than this one. But both of these are better than Girl I Wanna Lay You Down (their biggest charter).
Universal Child - Annie Lennox
This is a single from Annie's 2010 Christmas album, and it sure sounds like it. Believe it or not, this isn't the only Christmas song in the extras either.
Any thoughts on these extras?

Terrible Things - April Smith and the Great Picture
Damn, this one kinda slaps. I'm a sucker for cabaret pop.
Modern Man - Arcade Fire
I'm sure this one would have performed pretty well had we ranked it. ...I'm content with just the 2 AF songs that we did rank though.
You Can Dance - Bryan Ferry
Huh, didn't know Bryan Ferry had a charter in 2010. I actually really like this though, would've been cool to rank.
Love Me Chase Me - Carney
Who tf is Carney. He made a surprisingly cool song here, whoever he is.
"Forget" You - Cee-Lo Green
Hey Ceelo. Why is the mv age-restricted lol (I uh haven't watched it)
Any thoughts on these extras?

If You Let Me - Chrissie Hynde, JP, and the Fairground Boys
Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders formed this side project with singer J.P. Jones. They only released one album as a group. I like this song enough.
Letters from the Sky - Civil Twilight
To date this is still my favorite song of the entire 2010s...really would have liked to see it have a chance at #1 here.
Longer Time at Sea - Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons
Lots of bands in these extras that I've literally never heard of but have like, good to decent songs.
Bluff - Daphne Willis
Seems Daphne Willis released a couple albums in 2010-2011 and dipped. This is better than a lot of the singer-songwriter pop we've ranked here, I think. Nice guitar on this track.
When My Time Comes - Dawes
This is actually Dawes' first charting single! And it sure is a Dawes song
Any thoughts on these extras?

Sing Me to Sleep - Fran Healy f/ Neko Case
You probably know Fran Healy better as the lead singer of Britpop group Travis. This is the lead single from his only solo album and features vocals from Neko Case. I like it.
My Own Sinking Ship - Good Old War
I believe we ranked this band in the 2015 AAA rankdown with the song Tell Me What You Want from me. I remember liking that one, but it had completely escaped my memory till now.
Stylo - Gorillaz f/ Mos Def & Bobby Womack
My top 10 would look very different if some of these extras had been bigger hits on AAA.
Marquee - Greg Laswell
Somehow Take Everything was a top 5 AAA hit and Greg Laswell's only other charter barely made a scratch on the charts. And I actually like this one soooo much more, this is a very pretty track. I think I would've ranked it pretty highly. Kinda reminds me of Snow Patrol.
Someday at Christmas - Jack Johnson
I know a lot of you were thinking "man, it sure is nice ranking 3 Jack Johnson songs in one rankdown. If ONLY he had a Christmas song in 2010 too :(" Well don't worry, your prayers have been answered.
Any thoughts on these extras?

Off to a marvelous start. “Hey, Soul Sister” has literally been grating on my nerves since I was 10 lol
I’ve found myself starting to get into Colbie Caillat more, but this song of hers featured was just there. Nothing too special about it, and there’s been nothing revealed so far that is notably upsetting to see.
