That seems to be as bad as having the 2010s decade end Hot 100 covering only from Dec. 5, 2009, through Sept. 28, 2019 dated charts.

If the Billboard Awards remain in November, I'm assuming this mid-October cutoff will remain consistent from now on.

It does indeed seem to be a business decision, as the BBMAs seem to be replacing the AMAs as the major music awards show for November, so this will likely be in place for years to come.

the YE stopping at 49 weeks means it's a full circle for me personally, since it's in those same number of weeks is what I saw when I started gaining interest in Year-End charts back in 2015
