Lee didn’t write “RATCT”. Her sung version is the original, however.

Nonetheless, the songs producer, Owen Bradley, was apparently her cousin and he produced several other famous Lee songs ie. “I’m Sorry” and “Sweet Nothing’s”.

He also produced other famous hits such as Patsy Cline’s “I Fall To Pieces” and Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man)”. He was quite the star country/pop producer in the 1950’s/1960’s. Perhaps Lee receives royalties from “RATCT” through them being closely related/family. Who knows…

I love seeing Stephen Sanchez's Until I Found You increasing on radio airplay. It is close to top 20. Hopefully, it can rise back into the top 40 on Billboard Hot 100 and reach a new peak.

I would argue that radio was mostly responsible for it dying. Not surprisingly, all her indisputable hits, Truth Hurts, Good as Hell and About Damn Time have all hit #1 in Radio Songs. Coincidentally, those also were #1 in Digital Song Sales. 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) wasn't even close in either chart to hitting #1 (#34 and #17 peaks, respectively). It's one of those songs that ended up being more successful, at least in term of peaks, in most other English speaking countries' singles charts. I personally do agree it deserved doing better than it did in the Hot 100.

Christmas is more than a day here; we have an entire "holiday season." Traditionally it was the stretch between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it's really started to become from Halloween to New Year's. For decades now a lot of AC stations have switched to holiday music starting in early November, and stores put Christmas stuff out right when they put up the Halloween stuff (if not before).

Brenda Lee was singing “RATCT”, live, across the United States when Madonna and Michael Jackson weren’t even a year old.

At 77, I’m sure she could care less but the fact that she just chills in her rural Mississippi cottage as the song dominates every year is amazing.💀

It's not for the clicks, AIWFCIY is more popular every year, plus it's not really hard to enter the top 10/5 like before.

Taking a look at AIWFCIY's daily 11/20 US Spotify streams this year vs. last year: 792,126 vs. 580,199, a 36.5% increase vs. last year. Similarly, for RATCT, 825,991 vs. 461,987, a 78.8% increase vs. last year. It looks like holiday music will be even more dominant at US Spotify this year vs. non-holiday music.

Ｓｏｕｎｄｃｌ🕤ｃｋ already pointed some things out, but consider that "AIWFCIY" was top 10 for last week on YouTube. It has also been #1 on Amazon for days if I'm not mistaken. It is now in the top 10 on Spotify at least some days, and it's top 25 on Apple Music. How many other songs are that consistently high in streaming across that many platforms? It will likely be top 5 in overall streaming for this current week, which obviously would then make it a contender for top 5 on the Hot 100. I'm sure it's in part for clicks and the song is more likely to be just outside the top 5, but partly it's hard to know how well it's doing on Amazon. Look at how every prediction had it at #27 for this most recent Hot 100 but then it was #25, so they have to leave room for some underestimation.
