Anti Hero kinda sticks out like a sore thumb from the songs that made it this seed, it’s honestly not *this* good of a song lol.
Overall I really like this finals list! I feel like there’s a good amount of variety in terms of genre and such, I’m especially glad to see a decent amount of r&b and rap (and not just all from Kendrick like in stm lol). I’m more excited about this list than I was for stm this year

I've been submitting songs that nobody else has thought about submitting and choosing artists that have not appeared in any previous Madness tournaments, thus unsurprisingly, none of my song submissions made it to the finals.
I started listening to The Go! Team since September last year and they have become one of my favorite indie rock/pop bands. I had a feeling "Divebomb" wouldn't make it to the finals but seeing how it beat most of the rock-related songs that I thought of as its competition, I'll take it.
Still, some of these reveals were surprising. I was impressed by "Royal Blue Walls" even if it's not the music I normally listen to. I feel that "Very Online Guy" is a bit underrated and a good fit for my next short songs playlist idea (although there are enough Alvvays songs in the finals). Also, "I'm Just a Clown" felt so good I'm thinking about listening to more of that kind of style of music.
Why couldn't either Zella Day song make it to the top 20? And although I ranked Tove Lo and Carly Rae Jepsen's songs above Taylor Swift, both of Taytay's songs still made it to the finals.
Instead of repeating complaints by other users about how basic the finals lineup is (given that I am responsible for ranking some of the basics high), I can say that I don't think any of the finals songs are mid or subpar (below 3 stars on RYM). However, I will not feel bad about which songs I am planning to rank the lowest.

I'm actually super pleasantly surprised that "I'm Just a Clown" made it all the way to #21, I was ready for a bottom 10 exit for that one because this set was so strong!

I would also like to shout-out all my favorite discoveries of the game: Things I Never Nu, Not My Lover, BABY, The Dress, Damn (You've Got Me Saying), Bad Omens, Happiness, Burning, Rendezvous, Spirit Power and Soul, Flowers Need Rain, and Pool Hopping.
This is my favorite part of these things, discovering new music I otherwise wouldn't have heard or did hear before, but this game gave it that second chance to click (in the case of Bad Omens, Burning, and Damn). And all I want from this game is to do the same for others and I hope my four tracks have found their way into someone's playlist.

sent, this might honestly be the strongest finals list i’ve seen out of the rankdown madnesses i’ve participated in! i’ve been listening to the playlist quite a bit this week and it really is a great group of songs
5.0: 1-2
4.5: 3-20
4.0: 21-43
3.5: 44-58
3.0: 59-60
i pretty much didn’t want to rank any of these songs low 😅 there’s definitely a chance that i end up editing my list lol

I think this is overall a stronger set of songs than the 2022 Summertime Madness finals, where in that finals I rated my 59 and 60 a 2.5/5. And unlike in STM, I kept track of my RYM ratings while working on the seeds (I still need to rate the songs on the website). While I don't dislike any of the songs, I do have some unpopular opinions to share. And while my #1 is an unsurprising choice given past rankdowns, it holds a special place in my heart after something I recently put together using the song.
I am wondering if we will see how we ranked the songs in their seeds alongside the finals ranks during the reveals. I did switch up the order of a few songs for my finals list.
