Happy that my song did make to finals.
Didn't expect there are two country/americana songs remaining. At least Oklahoma Smokeshow makes up for SITO missing the finals. Trouble is one of my favorite discoveries. They should be just inside top 15 though. Can't wait to see who sent what...
Well, that's an interesting twist. I guess it reduces some sort of redundancy of reveals and because the performance of songs in seeds doesn't necessary correlate with that in finals.

I have several thoughts about these reveals, but let me start by revealing one of my extras that I submitted:
Björk, Kasimyn - "Fossora"
I wanted Björk to be part of Wintertime Madness just to end up getting robbed but I felt that I didn't enjoy her singles enough that I would rank them in my own top 5... yet I did rank "Ancestress" in my top 5.
As for my song submission ZERO_2.0, I'm a bit bummed it didn't place higher but I would have been surprised if it made it to the finals. It's cool to see that Red submitted the song most similar to mine which I enjoy plenty but was not quite among my favorites in Seed #4.
LOL at the posts freaking out over the The Weeknd. It was actually the first time I've ranked any of his songs in a rankdown and I couldn't deny that I liked the song.
There are a few artists that I listened to more of that I discovered in Seed 4. These include Emma Volard and Ninajirachi. Emma's music is similar to Hiatus Kaiyote, a band also from Melbourne that got me into Neo-Soul music. And also I'm planning to include Ninajirachi on a personal Electronic Dance Music playlist.
7 of the Seed 4 songs that made it to the finals were among my top 15, including my top 2, which is satisfying enough. There are some obvious choices that made it yet I'm the most pleasantly surprised to see foamboy made it.

this is really as far up to being close to the finals as i'm being in this edition so i'm savoring everything i can uh this song is just pretty to me. has a lot of the esotericism i enjoy in this side of electronic music alongside being earwormy and having a sense of itch for rapport i constantly think about from here it's obvious what my other numbered seeds are so i'm at least hoping for mindfulness from this point on |

Also before I forgot, Uncover is a great discovery that is in contention for my best of list. I like the build which is more extensive than similar songs.

Before I start listening to Seed 3 and rank every song, I must say that it includes the highest number of songs that I expected to show up in Wintertime Madness. I shall address a couple of them here. I expected to see at least one of the new Gorillaz singles to show up and it's one of the WTM songs that's getting a lot of plays on SiriusXMU. I've been enjoying Gorillaz' latest songs, and if I had known that nobody would send "Cracker Island" I would have submitted it. I also had a feeling that DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ would show up again with a new single release. While I think her style of plunderphonics house may not appeal to everyone, we have seen that she is capable of winning a rankdown that had plenty of competition, so I am crossing my fingers to see "Dance Now" make it to the finals. And of course, there's the new single from Hatchie. I admit, I liked every one of her songs in Summertime Madness and put them in my top 15 in their seeds, but could we for once not let her get an easy pass to the finals? ... *listens to "Nosedive"* ...ok I take back what I just said, this song is fire! |

I have 20 songs left. I have today and tomorrow off from work with only one obligation to take care of so I should be able to knock this out in time. It helps that I'm familiar with half of the songs remaining so it won't take me long to sort them out.

Initially, I thought this was going to be one of the weakest seeds I've ever listened to, but most of the songs I liked a lot ended up appearing towards the end of my listening sessions on shuffle. A second playthrough also warmed me up to several songs that I was pretty indifferent towards at first. In the end, a solid seed overall.

#12-28: 3.5/5
#29-42: 3/5
#43-47: 2.5/5
#48-54: 2/5

Finally got my list in. This seed was tougher to rank than seed 4, and there were several change-ups in my ranks when listening to the songs for the third time. While I thought there were fewer 'duds' in this seed, my least favorite song was easy to determine.
