Even if it will probably help, it's probably too early for AIWFCIY to make a play for number-one unless Mariah's team intervenes. Next week is a more likely bet for when AIWFCIY will go back to #1.

Thanksgiving is over and December 1 is going to be in this tracking week. last year this was the week AIWFCIY jumped to No. 1 (5-1) on Streaming Songs, funnily enough, pushing down "All Too Well" 2-7 at the same time.

with a wide enough lead on streaming, I think AIWFCIY could definitely challenge for the top spot this week, but I also imagine No. 2 is more likely.

"Rockin' Around..." took over on Spotify earlier than ever this year, so don't count it out threatening for #1. It obviously needs a big lead to make up the difference on other platforms, but it's possible.

OK so the charts will go into Xmas boredom mode earlier than ever this year lol. I know it's accurate but unless someone like Taylor makes a play a la "willow" it's gonna be a whole ass month of Mariah and Brenda again.

^I would think the opposite effect will end up being true. It already looks like holiday music is getting streamed more this year. We'll see if the record 39 holiday songs in the Hot 100 set two years ago gets broken this season

Remixes released years after the original are considered to be new/separate songs (see "Oh Santa" trio version).

I'm thinking there is going to lots of big releases starting in January next year so far all I know is Olivia Rodrigo's lead single for her next album is rumored to be an early release next year. I'm sure there will be others,January always has had lots of major releases over the last decade.

OTR is considered a novelty song by most that's been largely forgotten. I haven't heard it since it's initial run. Does it even regularly show up on any component recurrent charts (radio, streaming, sales)? This will be manufactured drama by the artist who'll be dethroned.

There's no reason why Billboard would make radical changes to the chart to depress Xmas songs. As Billboard noted in an extensive article last year, Xmas songs are being actively pushed year-round by labels. It's practically the only genre that hits all 4 components: streaming, radio, album sales and single sales. I'm not sure why Xmas vinyls aren't more prevalent. Who wouldn't want Green, Red, White, Silver, Gold, *blue,* or Candy Cane vinyls.
