It would be so easy to go "hehe she's on coke" listening to this. Maybe the question mark is in the title because even Barbra herself is shocked by what she is doing to this classic song. That said, it is so absolutely bonkers that I can't help but root for it. It also just feels like a song a drag queen would do a holiday lip sync to, which is always a plus. If this doesn't get you off the couch at the holiday party and onto the dance floor, what would See you tomorrow! Well, it's technically tomorrow right now...or not, depending on your time zone? whatever! <3

'Jingle Bells' is so tired and played out, and this is just fun. Ya'll...

I didn't join the rankdown but I have to say as a spectator that Fairytale of New York being close to bottom 5 surprised me. I expected it to be polarizing but not closer to the negative side.

Pulse isn't British enough, I guess. Ha I just can't stand the dude's voice. The production and lyrics are fine, but I do not want to listen to him sing. I wish I could get into it.

50. mistletoe
I didn't realize this was as hated as it was. I'd never seek it out for my holiday playlists but I don't consider it to be terrible... though I'm a little embarrassed to be among the highest ranks for this... :X
49. do they know it's christmas
I don't think I listened to this one once at all this year (other than snippets here and there), but being that it's always been around during the holidays for as long as I can remember, the nostalgia is strong and the melody is nice, but the lyrics suck. I'm glad it's being phased out.
48. snowman
Sia isn't someone I think of when I think of holiday music, but she has a few that are better than this one.
47. merry christmas n sync
Nothing about this is festive to me. Saying "Merry Christmas" over and over isn't enough to call it a Christmas song.
46. Happy Holiday/the Holiday Season
I actively hate this song. I'd been hearing a version of it on the radio over the last few years and it's an instant station changer. I didn't know the title of it until this rankdown so when I reviewed the list of songs early on, I figured Blue Christmas would be my last place, easy peasy. Then this came on and my blood boiled. I can't even explain why. It enrages me.
45. my grown up xmas list
I'm most familiar with Kelly's version, which I like, but Amy's is pretty pleasant. Sad to see it out so early.
44. Fairytale of NY
A bit surprised this is out early, but I'm guessing most people aren't into or familiar with more traditional stylings of British (and the surrounding area) music, which is fair. This isn't particularly festive if you're not from there I guess, so it makes sense, but I've definitely grown to love this one. It's cheeky. Yeah, there's the f-slur, which for some reason doesn't bother me and it probably should. I take it as more of British humour in the 80s and I guess it fits the narrative. KT Tunstall does a great cover of it where she replaces it with "blogget" or something, so if I'm listening to this song around others, that's the one I put on.
43. wonderful xmastime
I get people have a huge hardon for Paul McCartney and that's probably why this seems to be so universally hated in comparison to whatever else he's done, but not caring about the Beatles at all, I've always thought the hate toward this was a little embellished. It's like the "Nickelback sucks" or "We Built This City = worst song of all time" situations. People are just on the bandwagon.
42. christmas without you
On one hand, I kind of hoped this was a Dolly & Kenny cover, on the other hand, I'm glad it wasn't. Either way, this was my first time hearing this song and I thought it was cute!
41. jingles bells
Yeah, wtf was that? lmao. It could be fun though, in the right setting.

i said "it's camp" out loud multiple times listening to Jingle Bells and honestly? that was really refreshing 80% of the way through this list

50. Mistletoe - Justin Bieber: Aww poor "Mistletoe" coming in last but ah yeah I guess this isn't too surrpising. I did rank this at #37 so I do wish this could have ranked higher to avoid being last but oh well, not too heartbroken over this.
49. Do They Know Itβs Christmas? - Band Aid: Oooh yay I got a perfect ranking for this! Also not too surprised this song ended up getting 3 #50 rankings too. I did find this song kinda boring and it not doing much for me despite all of the star power in it. Interesting how the rankings are all over the place here.
48. Snowman - Sia: Oooh I noticed the graphic is a bit wrong as I put this at #39, not #37. But ooo I'm kinda surprised this came in so low at #48. I thought it would have done better but it didn't really do that much for me. I enjoyed it but it didn't stand out as much as the songs I am used to.
47. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - *NSYNC: Oooh ugh now this is the first real disappointment for me, as I ranked this at #9. :'( Sad to see this song showing up already and in the Bottom 5. This was a really fun, cute and enjoyable Christmas song I grew up on and I have so many memories around it. Ugh it deserved better. But yay for johnm1120 putting this at #3.
46. Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season - Andy Williams: Okay, phew... I'm good with this ranking as I placed this at #44. This was really nice but it also kinda bored me and didn't really do much for me compared to most of the songs here. Ugh this was only one point behind the *NSYNC song? I should have dropped this two spots, lol.
45. Grown-Up Christmas List - Amy Grant: Aww I thought this was a beautiful song from Amy Grant but I can get how it can be precieved as boring. She sounded really pretty on this. I ranked this at #31 so wished it was a bit higher.
44. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl: Oooh whoa, this having two #1s. I was not expecting that but wow I can see how polarizing this song is. I haven't heard this before and I don't really remember it that well now. But with this being my #50, I know I didn't care for this and it didn't do anything for me. So I'm good with this showing up now. And wow there's those 2 #1s and a #4, but everything else were Bottom 20 ranks. :o
43. Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney: I didn't realize how polarizing this song was. But I enjoyed it enough to rank it at #32. A nice and enjoyable song from Paul.
42. Christmas Without You - Ava Max: I hadn't heard this one before but this is a cute, fun and enjoyable song from Ava Max. I ranked this at #38 due to not really being familiar with it and it not standing out to the classics but it could grow on me overtime.
41. Jingle Bells? - Barbra Streisand: I hadn't heard this version of this song before but wow this reallly shocked me with how fast paced this was. I ranked this at #36 and struggled with where to rank this. This is a really fun, intriguing version of the song and I do like it. It's definitely bonkers but oh so fun. But it's another one of those songs that doesn't standout amongst the classics.

50. Mistletoe - Justin Bieber: Never bothered to listen to this until this year, though I realized I did hear it in passing before. It's honestly not quite as bad as I thought it would be, but I wouldn't say it's good either.
49. Do They Know Itβs Christmas? - Band Aid: I'm mixed on this song - the lyrics are pretty cringey, but I'd be lying if I said the production and melody weren't gorgeous.
48. Snowman - Sia: I'm a bit biased against Sia after Music to be honest, and while I still can't deny I like some of her songs, this is not one of them.
47. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - *NSYNC: Not the worst thing I've ever heard, but very generic and dull.
46. Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season - Andy Williams: I'm actually kind of glad this was tanked, even though I didn't put it quite so low. I always thought the "Holiday Season" part had pretty terrible lyrics. Would rather listen to Bing Crosby's original "Happy Holiday" from the movie Holiday Inn, or others based on it.
45. Grown-Up Christmas List - Amy Grant: Not my cup of tea at all.
44. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl: A bit overrated in other parts, but not worthy of being this low. It's a fun song and I'm glad they were willing to do a version without the F-slur.
43. Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney: Maybe I was a little harsh on this song, I guess it's not THAT bad. But definitely nowhere near one of the best Christmas songs or one of Paul's best.
42. Christmas Without You - Ava Max: I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one, it's pretty good as far as modern pop Christmas stuff goes. Deserved a little better.
41. Jingle Bells? - Barbra Streisand: It's weird. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't want to hear it too often.

It's a fun song, but struggles a bit against some of the other holiday classics. The next song had a wonderfully...unique version of it go viral this year.

I didn't expect to send the highest score for this! It's a beautiful song and one of my favorite Christmas standards. I don't know, I love a sad Christmas song.#38 is an iconic holiday crossover event...

This is not a collaboration that makes sense to me on paper, but works well in practice. To be fair, I'm biased toward it since it's one of my mom's favorite Christmas songs, but still...it's definitely good.
#37 is by a very talented musician, and some other people no one talks about!

Michael Jackson was a tiny child when this was released. In retrospect, I probably should've had "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" here instead, but I don't so oh well! It's still a fun rendition of the song, and not the only one you ranked... #36 is a song that ended up a lot higher than I initially thought it would, most of you were not here for it lol

A modern Christmas song that has changed the lives of middle aged people everywhere. Can't fault them, it's a good rendition and they're good at what they do, I just prefer other Pentatonix songs as I've heard this around 500,000 times. You could NOT escape it when it first came out, at least I couldn't. Congrats to Hamed!#35 is possibly the shortest song in the whole rate, and one of my mom's faves!

God, this song is just fun. I can totally tell why some people may HATE it, but it stands out from other Christmas songs that return to their airwaves every year. It has such an infectious energy.
#33's loss may give one of you in particular a heart attack...

The first time I heard this, I didn't know how I felt. As a Kate Bush stan, I wanted to like it more than I did. Nostalgia is a huge factor with Christmas music, so this ultimately didn't get super high on my list, but as time goes by, I think I'll fall for it more. It's romantic and so, so cozy, like if a fireplace was a song.#32 is another one much higher than I anticipated it would be, considering how much the singer is made fun of online...

Ehh; I guess that can be expected for Pentatonix. For me the appeal of 'Mary Did You Know' is because you can serve some hefty vocals with it, as Pentatonix did. There's another acappella rendition by Peter Hollens that's also really good (and because he's a soloist he can and does lay it on REALLY thick with the vocal overdubs) plus the live version by Anthony Callea is amazing (it was for Carols By Candlelight here in Melbourne, and it was absolutely spine-tingling to hear in-person at the open rehearsal night).

I'd have to double-check, but I think Michael's version of IBTLALLC would also have fit the bill for my pop game. Obviously I went with his Mimi cover there, but I think I had that option.

Not very many of you felt strongly about this song. I will say that "Blue Christmas" stands out as a Christmas song that has way too many god-awful covers (though the reigning champ of god-awful covers will come later...)to be continued....

How do I escape the evil that is Michael Buble! He has infected every single Christmas playlist oh my lord. (I didnβt realize I ranked his song that high but I guess itβs due to the strength of the original)

40. Little Saint Nick - My highest song to fail to make the top 30. This one's a Christmas classic in my eyes, and on par with the best of older (pre-Pet Sounds) Beach Boys. Only missed my top 10 because there's a bunch of other great classics here.
39. I'll Be Home For Christmas - This is a song I have to be in the mood for, and I'm not sure I'd consider Bing's to be one of the more definitive versions. Still could have stood to do a bit better though.
38. Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth - Another one of my top 20's gone. One of the best unlikely collaborations ever, and second only to the Harry Simeone original for "LDB" renditions.
37. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Jackson 5) - Nothing particularly awful about this one, just kind of low-key annoying for me.
36. Mary, Did You Know? - Not a fan of this song at all.
35. Deck the Halls - Great version of a classic carol. Deserved a little better.
34. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Bruce) - On the other hand, I adore *this* version. Another top-shelf classic in my book, though I get why it's polarizing.
33. Home For Christmas - This was new to me. It's solid.
32. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - I will never get what people hear in Michael BublΓ© as a singer. He at least doesn't sound totally robotic here, but it's still far from the best rendition I've heard of this song.
31. Blue Christmas - I like it well enough, but it's a bit overrated. I'm fine with this ranking.

How do you rank this song? How? I really struggled, and it ended up toward the bottom of my list. I have a soft spot for it (it's camp!), but idk...it doesn't hit like Mariah does. #27 has a very nice CΓ©line rendition that I prefer...

The most famous version of this song is by Dean Martin, but I felt I had to include something by Frank Sinatra. Along with Martin, Nat King Cole & Bing Crosby, we've all heard a Sinatra Christmas song at least once.#25 is by Top 40's favorite old man...halfway through!
