What has helped "Last Christmas" and "Santa Tell Me" each jump some songs this season? (I'm loving it btw as those are two of my faves.)

It looks like holiday songs won't necessarily get a full top 10 this season either. That combined with some switching of the rankings within holiday songs should make some happy.

Those are two of my favorites too. LC is truly one of the best contemporary Christmas songs over the last 40 years. And out of the modern Christmas songs, I really like how STM doesn't sound like or remind me of any other Christmas song which is why it's the best pop Christmas single release of the new millennium.

I love how deranged this hatred for a 2008-has-been act is.

for reference, Cascada's "Last Christmas" has a grand total of 8 million streams on Spotify. it's been out for over 12 years. 

Taylor Swift's "Last Christmas" has 19 million streams on Spotify. it's been out for over 14 years.

these covers are not making any significant dent on Wham!'s classic, sitting at 1.06 BILLION streams. adding Cascada's numbers literally wouldn't even change that number.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about Last Christmas' streams getting cannibalized by inferior covers. Anyone who hears those is going to want to listen to the original, as I did when I played the mid lounge Kelly Clarkson remake.

I am not sure if radio spins factor in too much because i be hearing Cascada and TS's version every hour here in NYC, sometimes even the Backstreet Boys. I mean everybody and their mama covered this song.
