I'm already obsessed with this, regardless of chart performance.
Though, impatiently waiting for some dance remixes.

Am really happy with these numbers. RCA definitely did her dirt during PH eras.

RCA didn't give a s**t 'cause they already knew she was leaving after the era, that's why they didn't put effort into the singles when they were clearly connecting (especially 'Midnight Sky').

Early predictions have this debuting at #1 on the Hot 100 with 290+ points!
The Spotify numbers are so good. Tomorrow's will likely increase again given yesterday was Sunday (lowest streaming day)!

I'm so here for Miley smashing out of the gate! There have been so many great songs of hers that didn't get its chance to shine properly post-Bangerz so I'm glad this one is getting the attention that it's getting right now.

This is such a catchy song, it gets stuck in your head instantly on first listen. This is Miley’s best song by far.

I honestly thought that Party In The USA had made it too but the I realized it only made it to #2. Super sad. I feel like if it were released a year later it would’ve made it to #1

Wow at this numbers! Long overdue for her especially after Plastic Hearts didn’t hit the potential highs it could have because of RCA.

Guys what's the story here? I just listened to the song and it's nice enough, but "Midnight Sky" was just as strong if not stronger. I'm out of the loop. Has something changed in the time between that raised her profile again significantly? Or is there just a much bigger marketing push? It's odd that that demand for new Miley is SO much stronger compared to 2.5? years ago, all other factors being equal?

"Midnight Sky" and Plastic Hearts era were her way of rehabilitating her public image -- similar to how folklore/ evermore set up Midnights to become Taylor Swift's most successful era after Lover (and Reputation, to some extent) underperformed. 2. People love drama & a self-love anthem. "Midnight Sky," while a phenomenal song, doesn't have the celebrity gossip draw. 3. Miley's changed her label. Plastic Hearts was the last album in her contract at RCA, which meant that the label wasn't invested in it as much, and she's a Columbia Records artist now, alongside Adele, Beyoncé, Lil Nas X and Harry Styles. Columbia knows what they're doing.

So iconic that it made everyone in the world fall right back in love with Miley as if this was 2007 again.

This took me a couple listens to get into but I’m loving this now. I’m a little surprised to see it blowing up but definitely pleased! The video is great too.

I liked seeing Paris Hilton on stage and Miley sounded good for her parts but together with Sia it was an awesome train wreck. Lol

2. People love drama & a self-love anthem. "Midnight Sky," while a phenomenal song, doesn't have the celebrity gossip draw.. Hasn’t she released several songs about Liam already? Like, Slide Away, and even Midnight Sky… I thought they were all about him. they weren't released on Liam Hemsworth's birthday :giggle: I'd also argue "Flowers" is much more in-your-face about it and in saying "I don't need you, I'm over it" Same thing is currently happening with Shakira -- "Monotonia" and "Te Felicito" had references to the situation but the latest Bzrp Session is really the "fuck you, your side chick, and your mom too!" anthem lol

I’ve been busy all weekend so I haven’t had time to listen to this until now. After two listens, I stan this self-love anthem! I’m here for this new direction Miley is going.
I definitely hear the WIWYM comparisons which is ironic because that’s one of my least favorite Bruno songs and I already love Flowers after two listens

I’m not sure what this “Midnight Sky” is that everyone is talking about. It’s clearly the 2019 hit “On a Roll” that slowly built back her image for this release. Actually it was the 2018 heartbreak hit “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” 😉
