Just One Of Them Days deserved to be in top five. Y'all robbed Monica this time, don't let it happen again for '96 & '98.

I have little doubt Fantasy will win, so I'm more curious how the rest of the top 5 stacks up. It's surprising that neither Brandy nor Monica made it

LOL I thought You Are Not Alone was loved and could have been a surprise contender to win. :(

10. You Are Not Alone - Michael Jackson: I do love this song but with me ranking this at #9, I'm okay with this showing up now. This is a nice and beautiful song but not one of my ultimate favorites from Michael Jackson. Interesting how this song has the highest SD. I guess it makes sense how this can be polarizing. 9. Who Can I Run To - Xscape: I ranked this at #11 so I am also good with this showing up. This is one of those songs I didn't think I knew but then when listening to it, I did remember it - at least the chorus. Very good song from Xscape but again not one of my very favorites of theirs. 8. Candy Rain - Soul For Real: Oooh I love this song as I ranked it at #6. Yeah I would have liked to have seen this rank a little higher but this is also a decent spot for this. Great and fun song. I can get this being the 2nd highest SD as I can see this being kinda polarizing. 7. Don't Take It Personal (Just One Of Dem Days) - Monica: Hmm I'm kinda surprised and sad that this missed out making the Top 5. I ranked this at #4, so I do really love this. This is such a classic old school jam from Monica. It was so surprising hearing a 14 year old sounding this mature. It still stounds so good to this day. Also kinda surprised this has the 3rd highest SD. 6. Baby - Brandy: LMAO Not Monica & Brandy showing up back to back. We would make that happen here, lmao. I ranked this at #5, so again another song I wish and would have loved seeing it making it a little higher but oh well. This was another great early single from Brandy and still a song I love now. This Top 5 is pretty iconic. I have my #1, 2, 3, 8 and 10 left. Ooof, glad I got my Top 3 still in but I didn't know I still had my #8 and #10 still in. I'm rooting for anything in my Top 3 to win but especially my #1.

Just One Of Them Days deserved to be in top five. Y'all robbed Monica this time, don't let it happen again for '96 & '98. I know...the lyrics really speak to me. Especially the times when I get PMS from having my periods and I get into super bitchy mode. Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wait a damn minute....Monica had y'all in the 90s singing about periods?????
I thought the song was just about a sensitive man who can't handle a moody woman, never did I think of periods...I learned something new today.

"You Are Not Alone" and "Candy Rain" were definitely robbed (I've never heard that remix of "Candy Rain", but I definitely prefer the original). "Who Can I Run To" turned out surprisingly good. Definitely much better than their previous songs. The Monica song is alright, but it just never really did that much for me.
1, 3, 5, 8, 9. I'm actually a bit surprised at Method Man making the top 5, but the rest seem par for the course.

First extra for today was the debut single and biggest hit by this duo from NYC. It peaked at #3 on the R&B chart and #5 on the Hot 100, and samples the Mary Jane Girls classic "All Night Long".
Tell Me - Groove Theory
Believe it or not, this is actually a cover. The original was recorded by the group Rhythm-N-Bass in 1993 as "Tell Me (If You Want Me Too)".
Next, the smash from the soundtrack to Dangerous Minds. It topped the rap and Hot 100 charts and was Billboard's top pop single for 1995. It also peaked at #2 on the R&B chart and hit #1 in 18 other countries, and won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. Samples Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise".
Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio feat. L.V.
"Weird Al" Yankovic released a parody the following year called "Amish Paradise".

Wow. I am kinda surprised at some of these rankings, especially Brandy not making Top 5 at least. Also, surprised Shoop Shoop is in the top 5 as much as I love that song. Montell Jordan, PLEASE leave next. Your corny ass has overstayed its welcome. Let's Ride>>>>>>>>>

4. I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need To Get By - Method Man feat. Mary J. Blige"I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need To Get By" was the remix to Method Man's song "All I Need". This remix, also known as the Razor Sharp Mix, was produced by RZA who also produced the original version. The song topped the rap chart, reached the Top 5 on the Hot 100, and won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By a Duo Or Group. Another mix released for airplay was produced by Puff Daddy and Trackmasters, and contains a sample of The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Me & My Bitch". All versions of the song interpolate the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell classic "You're All I Need To Get By". Apologies to wyckyd, Kelly's 10th Fan, and Mirago... But first, a couple of extras by this female trio from LA. Their biggest hit topped the R&B airplay chart and peaked at #2 on the main R&B chart and #8 on the Hot 100. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance By a Duo Or Group. Samples "Spellbound" by rapper K-Solo, and was later sampled in the Tory Lanez hit "Say It".
If You Love Me - Brownstone
Their follow-up was another R&B airplay charttopper. It also peaked at #6 on the main R&B chart.
Grapevyne - Brownstone

Here we go, the final 2... 2. This Is How We Do It - Montell JordanBorn in South Central LA, Montell blasted onto the scene with his debut single "This Is How We Do It". Built on a sample of Slick Rick's "Children's Story", it topped the R&B and Hot 100 charts and also hit #1 in Zimbabwe. The first R&B release on the Def Jam label was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. StatsChart Entry: February 11, 1995 Peak Date: April 1, 1995 Weeks At #1: 7 Weeks In Top 10: 15 Weeks On Chart: 31 Hot 100 Peak: #1 (7 weeks) Points: 318 Average: 4.91 Standard Deviation: 2.843 (7th highest and lowest)chanman - 1 singingrulebritannia - 1 aerodynamite - 1 CF15 - 1 Soulsista - 2beyoncelover - 2rowellfarm490 - 2BB🌕 - 2divasummer - 3 312999 - 3 wyckyd - 3 annoymous1 - 3 gonecountry - 3 bat1990 - 3 🇯🇲 dollybaby 🇯🇲 - 4 Gonza'90 - 4 mamooshka - 4 jtd Thee Stallion - 5 ccarter1023 - 5 SHOOTER - 5 Ky - 5 jenglisbe - 6 .indulgecountry - 6 emerald - 6 #LisaRinna - 7 ilikemilk - 7 Kelly's 10th Fan - 7 Mirago - 7 samo🦕 - 7 newpower - 9 B-Boy - 9 Ivy Leegue™ - 9 Mic Technique - 9 theyaintready - 10 Private Dancer - 11 ObservingTroublemaker
And now, the #1...only four people had this outside their Top 5! 1. Fantasy - Mariah Carey"Fantasy" was the lead single from Mariah's album Daydream. Built on a sample of Tom Tom Club's "Genius Of Love", it was the first single by a female artist to debut at #1 on the R&B and Hot 100 charts. It also hit #1 in three other countries and reached the Top 10 in many more. It was interpolated in the remix to Latto's "Big Energy" which features Mariah. The remix, featuring Ol' Dirty Bastard, is considered one of her most important and influential recordings, helping to popularize rap-sung collaborations that are still commonplace today. Congrats to beyoncelover, rowellfarm490, and BB🌕 (and me) for a perfect Top 2! With the upcoming songs, that is the LAST one Mariah needs to win until 2005.
Edit: I love Mariah, but Heartbreaker, Honey, ABMB can't compare to NO Scrubs, Heartbreakers Hotel, Before You Walk Out My Life, or Twisted.
