Global 200 is also the most important chart because almost all countries are included, not just one. Sadly, people still seem to care more about the US chart than global chart, which is the case in this forum too. I wouldn't visit the Hot 100 thread much if the Global 200 thread wasn't completely dead

Not to be a hater and nothing, but I'm curious: what have been the songs that hit the #1 spot this decade primarily because of mass-buying by fans, bundles, and/or many remixes?

The ones that I can think of are Say So (mass-buying by Barbz and a remix), Savage Love (a remix supported by ARMY), Life Goes On (mass-buying), Willow (remixes), Butter (mass-buying), Permission To Dance (mass-buying), and Anti-Hero (just some weeks, when it was driven by remixes).

But what about The Scotts, Stuck With U, Trollz, Cardigan, Watermelon Sugar, Franchise, My Universe, All Too Well, and Super Freaky Girl?

I'm talking about those singles that without those tactics it wouldn't have hit #1, or that had poor longevity at the top 10

Yeah. It's a proven method. I'm pretty sure they figured out a method to buy all versions several times using different account, credit cards, etc. Probably the CD wasn't nearly sold as much. Interestingly, the article didn't break down how many song sales came from digital and how many from CDs. If there was a late buying rally involved to get Like Crazy to #1, it definitely involved mostly digital song sales.

Happy to see Rema & Selena stable at #8! Their airplay is growing fast, up to #7 currently. I really want to see them crack the top 5 of the Hot 100.

Also, it's nice that Miley's stats remain relatively stable. I can see her returning to #1 next week hopefully! I'd like for Flowers to spend at least 2 more weeks atop the chart and join the 10-week-at-#1 club!

this might be Flowers' last week in the top 2, I really doubt she can return to #1, but we'll see.

Hopefully it'll manage so, but there's a lot of competition. I can see it maybe getting 1 more week but 10 seems out of reach with "Last Night" gaining in airplay and SZA discounting "Kill Bill" as well as generally being ahead on streaming.

Perhaps Miley could release some CDs or a discount. Although with how large its airplay is and how stable it apppears, it may end up doing similar to "As It Was"?

In the trenches on r/popheads and stan Twitter, apparently there's this big conspiracy that radio and the US labels/fanbases are intimidated by BTS which is why they won't play them. Apparently BTS is actually really popular with the US general public but they are being "suppressed" by Spotify, radio and everyone else.

I dare anyone to walk outside and ask someone on the street what their favorite BTS song is, you'll probably get lots of "I know who they are, but I don't listen to their music." Idk why BTS stans and K-Pop stans in general can't understand that K-Pop isn't popular in the US, at least with the general population. The closest to ubiquity K-Pop had here was Gangnam Style, otherwise it stays within it's niche. Which is fine, but I just wish I could stop hearing about these dumb conspiracies. You got your #1, now let's move on.

I don't think she would want it that bad or go through the trouble only to get it to 10 weeks, when it's already spent so many weeks at #1. Plus that would look bad if it were during a week when SZA is also competing for #1. She already has so many weeks, let someone else take it who hasn't got there yet!
