sad to lose "how's that", "drama", and "on the bound".
"how's that"'s intro reminds me of "blinding lights". i just really love the dark atmosphere on that one. "drama" is another great song from erika, although "busy" will always be my favorite of hers. "on the bound" is a great song from 'when the pawn...' but there are a few other songs on there i prefer.

“On the Bound” is one song that’s stuck in my mind from this rd even if it’s not one of my favorites here.
I’m pleasantly surprised most of my top 10 still hasn’t been revealed yet.

not a big fan of FKA Twigs so How's That went pretty quick into my bottom 10 on first listen, but after a few more I warmed up to it and it's definitely the best I've heard from her, love it.
Edge Of The Ocean & This Is A True Heart were wonderful discoveries, would rank the latter 10 spots higher now.
Sugar Water 'lalala' chorus got stuck in my head for a week but there's not much to that song other than that, lol
And once again like The xx, Fiona leaving this early caught me by surprise. Was expecting it to go top 5.

{A WALL THAT INDICATES OLDNESS}#30: I've been meaning to check out more of Julia's discog, so including this song in this RD was appreciated, even if it wasn't one of my absolute favorites here.
#29: Ooooooh, I thought this would be quite a bit higher. LP1 is clear of the EPs, but this was still quite good.
#28: I have yet to hear a bad Cibo Matto song, and, obviously, this was no exception.
#27: To be honest, I felt like this dragged on a bit too long. Still not bad.
#26: I figured that this would have a high SD the longer this lasted. This is the kind of song that I wouldn't skip if it popped up on a chill playlist, but my focus would be elsewhere while it was on.
#25: Not gonna lie, I probably underranked this lol
#24: Okay, so, here's a good indicator of how great this RD was: I planned on including this in a future RD, and it barely made my top 15 here.
#23: Super chill and dreamy, the type of song that could grow on me quite a bit with repeat listens...though I do feel like I have to be in the right mood for that to happen.
#22: Erika's great, that is all.
#21: I'm shocked that a) this isn't, at the very least, top half, and b) this isn't in my top ten. |
