It’s not gonna do anywhere close to midnight numbers but it’s definitely gonna gap REDTV numbers imho. She’s at her commercial peak, I can’t foresee it getting less than 4 debuts tbh.

Honestly, what is the point of having Spotify TTH playiist? Dance The Night is not even in the Top 20 US Spotify charts. Karma is declining in streams but Morgan Wallen keeps on getting streams despite not being on top of the playlists. The TTH playlist is not impacting the streaming charts in any way.

Karma is declining in streams but Morgan Wallen keeps on getting streams despite not being on top of the playlists. The TTH playlist is not impacting the streaming charts in any way. Spotify is still not profitable and playlisting (getting labels to pay big money for song placement) is one of their best ways to get money right now. It's not going to send anyone to #1, but a good placement can provide a 100k+ stream boost. That's why Spotify puts so much emphasis on artist discovery (labels will pay to boost new artists) and algorithmic recommendations (AI DJ, autoplaying recommended songs). |

It’s definitely that and the fact that DaBaby kept releasing trash. Since he blew up with “Suge” around this time four years ago, he kept using the same flow from that song. Every release from there on is him rapping with that flow against an aggressive 808 pattern. It got to point where most of his fans just got tired of it. So unlike Morgan who is Nashville’s “biggest star”, there was no point in keeping DaBaby around. Everyone used the scandal as a way to get rid of him. And it worked, it’s just crazy on how all the big rap artists of 2020 (Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, etc) just fell off. |

Tyler did huge numbers with a deluxe for an album released 2 years ago, so rap definitely isn't dead. But we just have to wait for a big drop - probably Travis, maybe Tyler, Uzi or J Cole. The A- and S-listers are as big as ever, what changed is that we aren't getting as many one hit wonders / crossovers as we did in the period before the pandemic, which in turn may have an impact on the genre's popularity in a few years with less fresh blood coming in. It feels like the last major rap artist to blow up was Jack Harlow, and even then, while Jack is without a doubt in a very healthy place as an influencer/celebrity/person that everyone likes, he is still searching for his ground as an artist, cycling from behemoth hits like First Class to albums with zero hits like Jackman. But to me it feels like we're in a transitional period within rap. Almost as if everything has been already done, hip-hop having experimented with every sound and genre, with post-Wayne rap becoming fully emancipated artistically. Hip-hop isn't anything new and out of the mainstream at this point. The genre is searching for a new purpose in this sense. For something new after how revolutionary the late 2010s were for it |

It’s crazy that we saw 2 different scandals in that same year that altered their careers massively. Morgan obviously got bigger, but Dababy fell off hard. Neither incident was better or worse than the other, they’re both about the same when it comes to how messed up they are. But its really crazy how we have seen both sides to how damage control is dealt with around the same time. Hmmm... wonder {why}(te) ? probably because dababy decided to stop making good music. |

Popular debuts at #3 on Spotify US with 1.2M streams and is at #58 on US Apple Music after 32 hours. Safe to say it won't be debuting in the Hot 100 top 10. Same goes for the Bizarrap/Peso Pluma collab. Put It On Da Floor Again is at #6 on US Apple Music after 32 hours but it seems like it failed to debut on Spotify, which is very shocking. Doesnt latto usually have bad streaming? |

i fear we're never getting Crazier (Taylor's Version) She just acknowledged IDWLF on her tour last weekend. I think she will rerelease most of these non album tracks randomly like she did the Hunger Games songs and If This Was a Movie. Still kinda weird that ITWAM was acknowledged as a Fearless song though. |

Still kinda weird that ITWAM was acknowledged as a Fearless song though. She did that to ITWAM because she wants Speak Now (Taylor's Version) to be entirely self-written. I feel like I remember reading somewhere she didn't even intend to include that song on the deluxe version of the original Speak Now, but her label wanted it on there. So it kind of makes sense, I just wish it was on the actual Fearless (Taylor's Version), not just as a single or on the More Fearless (Taylor's Version) chapter. |
