I hope they don't, I don't want that song coming for The Weeknd's former record. That would be amazing - Blinding Lights is such a pandemic relic with its longevity. It would be nice for a song to break it because of crazy crossover power yeah but it just so happens that that crossover song is crap

Same here, but it's probably becuase the song has been on the charts for over a year and has been doing perfectly fine without the pop radio push. And they probably intended to push Last Night to radio from the jump, which is probably why this didn't get pushed becuase the right time for it would have been 6 months ago. I hope they don't, I don't want that song coming for The Weeknd's former record. I remember joking about that on Discord 3 months ago, where Last Night's pop radio run is over and Morgan's team decides to revive You Proof by sending it to pop radio (instead of You Proof 2.0 Thinkin Bout Me), and the longevity boost from that will be enough for it to break Heat Waves/Blinding Lights's record and make 92 weeks.

Morgan Wallen’s popularity has me thinking that if that controversy in 2021 never happened, I don’t think he ever would have left the charts between then and now.

I mean the fact Dangerous never left the Top 10 Albums charts since its release is proof of that

I think Popular going top 40 would make Madonna the first artist to have a top 40 single in the 1980s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20's, think that's true of the top 50 as well

Sidenote, but it'd be interesting to see how a alternate singles run would go if he hadn't been caught. And if Wasted On You was still pushed in 2021 instead, how would it's absence affect the single rollout for OTAAT.

I just realized that if Annihilate goes top 10 it'll technically be Hailee Steinfeld's first top 10 hit since the song ends with dialogue from the movie Imagine scoring your first top 10 hit like that 💀

A great close to one of the classic late 70s/80s act. This week we are seeing a similar act, Daryl Hall and John Oates getting ready to depart the top 10. They’d be So Close to coming back in 1990 with So Close peaking at #11, but EYHD was the last time they managed a big hit in the US

The predictors, I gather, account for sales from artists' websites, when sold via that avenue? The Weeknd sold "Popular," both versions, in his web store last week (no longer available there currently). Not that it would sell a big amount there; just wondering.

We've already got an insane crossover hit with Something in the Orange getting revived by country radio just as it was meant to leave the charts.
It could easily notch up another 10 weeks if it stays consistent.

It could easily notch up another 10 weeks if it stays consistent. I think Billboard needs to add a new recurrent rule like 15/52 or 20/52, because this is starting to get ridiculous. Especially since these country songs just live long for whatever reason.

Especially since these country songs just live long for whatever reason.Or because these country songs are really popular right now? And they have streaming to back up in addition to radio, like Something In The Orange is projected to outstream Kill Bill this week despite being released over a year ago.

Both JNH + Jennifer Lawrence are credited on THT. Is Hailee Steinfeld now officially credited on 'Annihilate'? I can't find her name listed anywhere - Spotify, iTunes, etc. with her name on it.

I don't think you can jump from 29 to 15 in the span of a month and a half just becuase of a country radio revival given how the song itself is doing on country radio. Sure the audience numbers got a considerable increase in that time span but again, doubt that's enough to bring him back to the top 15.

He Hasn't left the charts with the controversy, and his popularity was only boosted, so I'm not sure what you're trying to saying here? Wasted on You went recurrent in June that year and and he didn't have a song chart until Sand in My Boots in October so this statement is untrue.
