Obvious choice between the music video and it already charting on Billboard a couple weeks back.

Love Parker but not the biggest fan of this one, especially the strange effect on his voice for the first minute of the song. Would have liked “I ain’t going nowhere” tbh

I saw him at the IHeart Country fest a few weeks ago and he said this was his favorite on the album, so this isn’t surprising. I like this song, but I hope “Speed” becomes a single at some point.

2nd most added with 45 stations and 49 total stations by add date, strong start for this one and I have already heard this on the radio and it sounds so good imo.

The fact this is bubbling under and it hasn't even hit the Top 40 on country radio bodes very well for this song being a massive hit. Potentially even bigger than "Handle On You".

I’m really loving this ken but this has to be the least Lori McKenna sounding song she’s had her name attached to lol

I didn't really love this hearing it on The Highway a few weeks back, but has REALLY grown on me. He really does have a fantastic voice and can appreciate the way the song builds from a haunting storytelling beginning to an uptempo self-reflection of moving on. It's catchy, showcases his vocals, and sounds different on radio. I would say not my favorite McCollum song (I think Handle On You, Pretty Heart, and To Be Loved By You are better), but he's compiling quite a resume in the last two years or so.

Never really been wowed by his material, but saw this was a single and just gave it a spin and must say this is fabulous. I’m in love with this.

Made it up to #12 on Mediabase and #13 on Billboard this week. Hopefully this week was a fluke as this lost 52 spins on the former chart, and barely gained any audience on the latter. It would help if the call-out improved, as it is pretty mediocre at best (#36 MMI) but this song has connected really well overall, and this is probably my favorite song on the chart right now.

Sorry for the double post but this song luckily had a pretty quick turnaround as this has gained 668 spins on Mediabase the last two weeks and becomes Parker McCollum's fourth Top 10 single this week on both charts as this moves up to #9 on Mediabase with a 443 bullet, and on Billboard this gained the 5th most audience (1853k). Unless if "Mamaw's House" blocks it (that song is white hot) this should be a future #1 on both charts. Oh and in other news, Parker and his wife are expecting a baby. http://instagram.com/p/C3EOe8zuxLZ

Sorry for the now triple post, but this week is this songs push week, and I am curious to see if this gets restricted to a Mediabase only #1 as right now I have this song a few million in audience behind "Man Made A Bar" as of today. Regardless if this is a MB only #1 or hits #1 on both charts, this song has been a pretty big hit for Parker McCollum and I really hope they try at least one more song from his latest album to radio.

I co-sign that "Tails I Lose" is one of my favorites from his album. That said, the album is about a year old now and this single took 10 months to climb the charts, so not sure I see them returning to the well for another from it, and he's released at least one recent standalone track ("Perfectly Lonely" in February), so I'd guess new music will follow later this year sometime.

Seriously can country radio move faster? just went back to 00s-10s usually 2 years one album four singles time period are good

I co-sign on radio needing to go back to its golden age. There has to be something that can be done to mitigate these relentlessly slow chart runs. I mean, look at other formats like pop radio. Their songs FLY up the charts, because they don’t piddle around in the shallow end of the pool and let their anxiety over the unknown callout scores get in their way. If it’s streaming well, pop radio spins it. They don’t give exceptions to how quickly something flies up the chart based on someone’s name power alone, and they also don’t send every single song to #1. They look at ALL metrics, not just callout scores, and country radio needs to go to a class from them and take some notes. If pop artists can continue to have 4+ singles go to radio in a single album era in this year of 2024, there’s no way in hell country artists should be waiting an entire calendar year just to squeeze out a single participation trophy #1 and then get a second single to hit the top another entire calendar year later if they’re lucky.

One thing that doesn't help the charts for country radio is how many songs are promoted to radio, as right now there are probably over 70 songs by artists being promoted to mainstream radio or about too in total. None of the labels want to drop a song unless it is clear that radio is like beyond done with a song, and radio themselves doesn't mind having songs take a while since they probably look at it as inclusive since their are so many artists, but it just creates a huge backlog on the charts where a song has to wait for one week to sneak through a bit and maybe then that will get it to take off. I don’t mind if radio takes a while with songs, it is what it is at the end of the day and no amount of whining, complaining, however justified will change their minds (we're all screaming into the void so to speak). But if that's the case, I wish artists and labels would give some of the non single songs some identity and promotion that isn't radio so they have their own time in the spotlight.

Very happy that this made it to #1.
I completed a little project I was working on to see all the writing credits for #1's on Billboard (Not the new 'Hot Country Songs') as I was curious and now I can update with the new number ones!
For the writers of this song.
Parker McCollum scores his 3rd #1 as a songwriter.
Hillary Lindsey scores her 18th extending her lead to 4 among women.
Lori McKenna scores her 2nd
Liz Rose scores her 3rd

I'm not sure what the discrepancy is.

By that time Hot Country Songs became a chart with multiple components (airplay, sales and streaming).
