#1 in Canada on its 19th week on the chart. This is his second #1 in Canada, after You Should Probably Leave. It is also a come back hit for him, as Joy Of My Life did not even make it to the top 40 in Canada.

I do think this can get the Mediabase #1, but like I said yesterday in the Predictions Thread, I am not sure with the Billboard #1 as this has just under a 9 million audience gap between this and "World On Fire" so it will be a decently tall task to get both charts even with Nate Smith now falling, as it feels like "World On Fire" is not falling fast enough. However this songs success regardless of that still speaks for itself (a peak of #12 on the Hot 100 and currently at #17 on said chart) and I am glad this has been such a big hit for Stapleton. Here's hoping he can sneak a week in there at #1 regardless.

This definitely feels like it should be a #1 hit, though with the numbers it’s facing I can see it being held to #2.

Are we sure this is maxing this week? I’m wondering if Stapleton’s label saw Nate’s lead and decided to delay their max spins week by a week, because while this has been gaining nicely this week, it definitely doesn’t seem like they’re really trying for #1.
This song still sounds so fresh and it’s been such a big hit for Chris, it would be an absolute travesty if it’s blocked by Nate Smith. I like Nate’s song well enough, but it’s nowhere near as good as “White Horse” is. This is an absolute jam, so hopefully the label will go for #1 at the end of next week. Nate will have fallen into range by then, and there’s no real threats behind Stapleton, so to me it just doesn’t make sense to drop promotion on this one after this week. But I guess we’ll see..

Are we sure this is maxing this week? There is an ad of "max spins now" in today's Country Aircheck daily email, for instance. Obviously I hope the label pushes for one more week like what Columbia Nashville did for The Kind of Love We Make because the next song in line of the evolving door (All I Need Is You) is both a non-threat (over 15 million audience fewer than World on Fire on Billboard chart this week) and non-event (not even charting on Hot 100 right now). Guess we shall see.

I haven't really checked Chris out until last year but everything I have heard from him has been incredible and this is no exception.

I wanna say this isn't maxing out this week, but man that bullet on Mediabase today is so big today (1036) that I have to think this is the final week for "White Horse" pushing and it will be restricted to a Mediabase only #1.

This is BS. This song is massive. Heck, this deserved the 6-7 week #1 over Nate. And that’s from someone who likes both songs.
Is anyone maxing next week? CCUSA looked like it was a free week up for grabs.

CCUSA looked like it was a free week up for grabs. Next week is Janson pushing for #1 and it looks like after that will be Riley Green if the hosting schedule is any indication. I doubt "All I Need Is You" gets anywhere close to the Billboard #1 so if Stapleton is done after Sunday, Nate gets an 8th week at #1 on Billboard, but Green should be #1 for a week before we see Cody Johnson and/or Warren Zeiders rule the top for a while. What's funny is that on the Hot Country Songs chart this song has made it up to #5 and "World On Fire" made it to #6 so there isn't THAT much of a gap between them. In a just world both get about 4 weeks at #1 on both charts, maybe 3 for Nate.

In a just world both get about 4 weeks at #1 on both charts, maybe 3 for Nate. One position difference in peak on the HCS doesn't exactly mean Smith's song was anywhere close to as big as Stapleton's song. One almost made top 10 on the Hot 100, and one peaked in the 20s on the Hot 100. "White Horse" has almost 30 million more streams on Spotify and his song has been out less time than "World on Fire," too. There is absolutely no justifiable reason for Nate's song to have spent any more than like 3 weeks at #1 at the absolute most. Hell, "World on Fire" doesn't even have HALF the Spotify streams of his debut hit that hit #1 earlier in the year. This is the most unbelievably bizarre chokehold I've ever seen on the charts.

This deserved a few weeks at the top over the horrible vocalist they call Nate Smith. They should keep pushing this through next week but I doubt they will and unfortunately Nate will get another week at the top.

I don't think BB looks at the streaming stuff. That is for the other chart that comes out on Monday's. I think BB looks at airplay on radio. Songs that hit #1 on BB during the Christmas slowdown always get a lot of weeks at #1. I agree the Nate's song is good and probably shouldn't have all these weeks at the top. They timed it perfectly so good job to them.

I will say thinking it over today, while it is unfair this will miss #1 on Billboard, it still hit #1 on Mediabase so in radio's eyes it is a #1, the general public will remember this song for quite a while, and this song had plenty of success beyond missing #1 on one chart. We move on, and overall this song is still a massive success imo.
