he is mostly known as an AC ballad singer of the 60's and 70's though he had two songs that went top 10 on the Hot 100 . this was his second and it reached #8 and went to #1 at AC. most of his songs had a very traditional AC sound . this song was somewhat influenced by the 70's Philly soul sound and is my favorite by him.
