Will It Be a ‘Barbie’ World or a NewJeans Day on the Billboard 200? In this week's The Contenders, the Barbie soundtrack challenges NewJeans' new EP for the chart's top spot.
www.billboard.com/pro/newjeans-barbie-soundtrack-number-one-album-billboard-200/ BY ANDREW UNTERBERGERTThe Contenders is a midweek column that looks at artists aiming for the top of the Billboard charts, and the strategies behind their efforts. This week (for the upcoming charts dated August 5), the hottest new K-pop breakout of 2023 takes on the hottest new film soundtrack of 2023 for Billboard 200 supremacy. NewJeans, New Jeans’ 2nd EP (‘Get Up’) (ADOR/Geffen/Interscope): After breaking through earlier this year with the singles “OMG” and “Ditto,” Korean girl group NewJeans established itself as one of the most exciting new acts in global pop with a massive online following. The quintet looks to build on that rising success with a new EP released Friday (July 21) that’s officially titled New Jeans’ 2nd EP (’Get Up’) and features Powerpuff Girls-esque cover art representing the five members. As is often the case with major K-pop releases, the set is expected to sell very well, thanks largely to the wide variety of variants available for release. There are three main CD versions of the album, but with 14 total iterations, with different covers and packaging individualized to the different members, and all with a set of branded merchandise inside, including photo books, lyric books and photo cards. However, NewJeans are exceptional among most 2023 K-pop acts in that they also stream very well in the U.S. On the most recent Spotify Daily Top Songs USA chart, every track from the new EP is still on the top 200 ranking, led by the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Super Shy” (No. 64 for the chart dated July 29). Given that it’s an EP with only six tracks total, that puts it at something of a disadvantage on the Billboard 200. But its combination of sales and streams should still make for a formidable debut on next week’s charts. Various Artists, Barbie the Album (Atlantic): Hey, did you know there’s a new Barbie movie out? Most likely after years of promo and a $155 million opening weekend, you’ve heard tell of the pop culture phenomenon – which also includes a star-studded soundtrack, executive produced by Mark Ronson and featuring new songs by A-listers like Billie Eilish, Karol G, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice, and even film star Ryan Gosling, among many more. Barbie the Album is in stores now via a half-dozen vinyl LPs (including retailer exclusives), three cassette editions and multiple CD iterations — as well as in a deluxe Best Weekend Ever Edition, which features a Gosling cover of Matchbox Twenty’s “Push” and married couple Brandi and Catherine Carlile’s version of Indigo Girls’ “Closer to Fine.” (Both originals are featured in the film, but not on the soundtrack.) The set has also been steadily growing on streaming since its Friday release – led by Minaj’s and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World,” featuring original “Barbie Girl” hitmakers Aqua, and Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” — as Barbie-mania continues to seep into the few remaining untouched corners of national consciousness. IN THE MIX Greta Van Fleet, Starcatcher (Republic): Classic rock revivalists Greta Van Fleet have gone top 10 with both of their first two albums, 2018’s Anthem of the Peaceful Army and 2021’s The Battle at Garden’s Gate, and look to make it three in a row next week with their new Starcatcher. The album is available in five different vinyl variants, and features the lead single “Meet the Master,” a top five hit on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. Ice Spice, Like..? EP (10k Projects/Capitol/Dolo): For many older listeners, the phrase “deluxe EP” may feel slightly oxymoronic, but that’s what always-rising rap star Ice Spice released on Friday, with the expanded version of her breakthrough Like..? EP. The six-track January set — which was expanded to seven with the April addition of the Nicki Minaj-co-starring remix to “Princess Diana” — is now at a whopping 11 tracks, including the new “Deli,” which has made a strong debut on streaming. Nas, Magic 2 (Mass Appeal): The latest in a late-career explosion of productivity for legendary MC Nas – recently ranked as Billboard’s third-greatest rapper of all time – Magic 2 marks the sequel to his 2021 set, and his fifth album in three years. The 11-track album only includes two guests, but both big-name: fellow Queens native 50 Cent on “Office Hours” and Atlanta star 21 Savage on the previously released bonus cut “One Mic, One Gun.”

So info for both the Hot 100 and this chart are delayed. Hmmm... I was wondering if today was some obscure holiday I had forgotten about. "Due To The observance of National Avocado Day the Billboard charts will be posted one day later than usual..." (and yes, today is National Avocado Day...in addition to National Mutt Day, Lifeguard Appreciation Day, and Harry Potter's Birthday apparently)

Ha Indeed. One never knows. Or maybe it's actually really close on the albums front, and on the Hot 100 front, Billboard is trying every possible charts formula/change to avoid having a certain track be No. 1.

As much as I would prefer that song not be number one it would be embarrassing for Billboard if it wasn't. Its point lead was projected to be miles beyond anything else, and if there was an upset it would look like obvious manipulation.

Honestly, the Billboard 200 issue makes me more anxious at this point. "Barbie" would certainly seem like the industry favorite to get #1 (it's the hottest thing in pop culture, and there are a LOT of big names on that album), but the margin of victory Hits reported for NewJeans would seem insurmountable without a significant and thus suspicious recalculation of the data.

There may have been issues in the past, but as far as I recall, the last few K-pop albums that earned #1 on Hits also earned #1 on Billboard (with similar numbers). In the case of Stray Kids, the last such act to hit #1, Billboard actually reported slightly higher numbers than Hits did. NewJeans has also had more specific/organic interest in their songs than other K-pop groups, which makes it seem especially unlikely that their numbers would have been manipulated to a meaningful extent.

Probably just data validation/maintenance issues - could be about anything - not just #1

I hope not, given that been so long for Billboard is taking to come out with the final numbers for the top 200 Albums.
I was wondering if at the last minute deciding to change the formula to calculate the top 200 Albums to include radio airplay. Radio Airplay is where The Barbie soundtrack would have a very strong advantage.

Radio Airplay is where The Barbie soundtrack would have a very strong advantage. I don't see a scenario in which they could change the methodology mid-week. But at this point, it's pretty hard not to assume this has something to do with Barbie vs. NewJeans. Since they already reported Hot 100 positions, that would mean it's probably not about track sales or streams and thus purely about traditional album sales. That could either mean a reduction to the presumed NewJeans total or an increase to the presumed Barbie total, and you'd assume the latter since NewJeans was tracking well there all week (thus making it unlikely some fraud suddenly came to light).

NewJeans Score First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With â2nd EP âGet Upâ Plus, the Barbie soundtrack makes a splash at No. 2, while Greta Van Fleet nabs its third top 10 with Starcatcher.
By Keith Caulfield
08/2/2023NewJeans land both their first No. 1 and first entry on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Aug. 5) as their 2nd EP âGet Upâ debuts atop the list. The set earned 126,500 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 27, according to Luminate, mostly driven by CD sales of the album. The Korean quintet brings a second all-female group to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in less than a year, following BLACKPINKâs Born Pink last September. They are the only two albums by all-female groups to reach No. 1 in the last 15 years. (Before BLACKPINK, the last all-female group to lead the tally was Danity Kane with Welcome to the Dollhouse in April of 2008.) Also in the top 10 of the new Billboard 200, the all-star Barbie soundtrack bows at No. 2 â with the biggest week, by units earned, for a theatrical film soundtrack in over four years. Plus, Greta Van Fleet claims its third top 10-charting effort as Starcatcher starts at No. 8. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Aug. 5, 2023-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboardâs website on Aug. 2. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. Of Get Upâs 126,500 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 27, album sales comprise 101,500 (with 99% of that sum driven by CD sales and 1% via digital download), SEA units comprise 24,500 (equaling 34.39 million on-demand official streams of the setâs six tracks) and TEA units comprise 500. Like many K-pop releases, the CD edition of Get Up was issued in collectible CD packages (three main versions, available in 14 different iterations, with different covers and packaging individualized to the different group members, and all with a set of randomized branded merchandise inside, including photo books, lyric books and photo cards). Most of the permutations of the CD edition of the album saw their contents housed in a branded bag, which was then contained inside a box. The set was only available for purchase as a CD or a digital download album. Get Up is mostly in the Korean language, but includes some English lyrics. It is the 20th mostly non-English language album to hit No. 1, and the fourth of 2023, following Stray Kidsâ 5-STAR (one week at No. 1, June 17 chart), Karol Gâs Mañana Será Bonito (one week, March 11) and TOMORROW X TOGETHERâs The Name Chapter: Temptation (one week, Feb. 11). Though Get Up is NewJeansâ first album to chart on the Billboard 200, the group logged three entries before the albumâs release on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, including the Get Up track âSuper Shy,â which climbs to a new peak of No. 48 on the Aug. 5-dated chart. Notably, the six-track Get Up is the second No. 1 album of 2023 to have fewer than 10 tracks, after another K-pop project, TOMORROW X TOGETHERâs five-song The Name Chapter: Temptation. The all-star Barbie film soundtrack bounds in at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 126,000 equivalent album units earned â the biggest week for a full-length theatrical film soundtrack, by units, in more than four years. The last soundtrack to score a bigger week was Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooperâs A Star Is Born, which registered 129,000 on the March 9, 2019, chart (at No. 1), following its exposure on that yearâs Academy Awards (Feb. 24). Barbie marks the highest charting soundtrack in more than a year, since Encanto led the list for nine nonconsecutive weeks (January-March 2022). Barbie is also the highest debut for a full-length theatrical film soundtrack since the Beyoncé-led The Lion King: The Gift also opened at No. 2 three years ago (Aug. 3, 2019, chart). The Barbie album features new music from Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice and Sam Smith (among many others), and even a pair of tracks from the filmâs co-star Ryan Gosling. Of Barbieâs starting unit sum of 126,000, SEA units comprise 70,000 (equaling 93.81 million on-demand official streams of the setâs 19 songs), album sales comprise 53,000, and TEA units comprise 3,000. Meanwhile, Barbie boasts the largest sales week on vinyl for a theatrical film soundtrack (33,000) since Luminate began electronically tracking music sales in 1991. (The setâs vinyl sales were enhanced by its availability across at least six color variants.) Further, Barbie scores the largest first-week streams (93.81 million) for a soundtrack in over five years, since Black Panther started with 138.95 million (Feb. 24, 2018, chart). Morgan Wallenâs former No. 1 One Thing at a Time dips 2-3 on the Billboard 200 with 103,000 equivalent album units (down 2%). The set has earned in excess of 100,000 equivalent album units in all 21 of its chart weeks, extending its own record as the album with the most weeks of 100,000-plus units since the Billboard 200 began ranking titles by units in December of 2014. Taylor Swiftâs Speak Now (Taylorâs Version) falls to No. 4 in its third week (79,000 equivalent album units; down 35%) after spending its first two weeks at No. 1. Peso Plumaâs Génesis drops 3-5 (53,000; down 4%), Swiftâs chart-topping Midnights descends 4-6 (49,000; down 4%) and Wallenâs former leader Dangerous: The Double Album falls 5-7 (47,000; down 1%). Greta Van Fleet notches its third top 10-charting album on the Billboard 200 as Starcatcher starts at No. 8. The set launches with 45,500 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, album sales comprise 41,000, SEA units comprise 4,500 (equaling 5.83 million on-demand official streams of the setâs 10 songs) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. Rounding out the top 10 is a pair of former No. 1s: SZAâs SOS (7-9 with just over 42,000; down 2%) and Swiftâs Lover (6-10 with 42,000; down 3%). Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data. In partnership with Billboard, data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, using established criteria, before final chart calculations are made and published.

It looks like NewJeans probably could have gotten around 14k pure sales filtered out based on HITS' final prediction. Barbie OST had about 4.5k more SEAs and 1.5k more pure sales than HITS predicted.

Thanks for posting the charts, Gary.

In this week's Five Burning Questions, we look at NewJeans' first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, which edged the 'Barbie' soundtrack by a mere 500 units.
The final results of the year’s closest race for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart were announced on Wednesday (August 2) — with K-pop quintet NewJeans securing the top spot for their 2nd EP ‘Get Up’, with 126,500 units in its debut week (on the chart dated August 5). Explore NewJeans
That was just 500 more units than the soundtrack to the blockbuster film Barbie, which posted 126,000 units — the best single-week tally for a soundtrack since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born set in 2019. Both top-two finishers this week also have a major Billboard Hot 100 presence: NewJeans claims three songs on the Hot 100 (led by advance single “Super Shy” at No. 48) while the Barbie soundtrack accounts for five entries (led by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s Aqua-featuring “Barbie World” at No. 7).
How did NewJeans land such a stellar first-week performance with a six-song EP? And why has the Barbie soundtrack proven such an instant success? Billboard staffers discuss these questions and more below.
1. NewJeans just squeaked out the victory this week over the blockbuster Barbie soundtrack with their 2nd EP, with 126,500 units in its debut week. What do you think the biggest reason is that NewJeans has achieved such success so quickly on the Billboard charts?
Rania Aniftos: They’re so cool. Simple as that. I’m (half) kidding, but I think with so many boy bands in the K-pop space breaking through into the global mainstream, we’ve been really craving some girl power. NewJeans do such a good job at reaching a global audience because their songs are not only catchy, but also appealing to fans of all ages. I’ve seen TikToks of kids dancing around to “Super Shy” and loving it just as much as their parents do, which is pretty unique when it comes to music.
Kyle Denis: I think NewJeans has arrived at precisely the right time. From the Stateside breakthroughs of BTS and BLACKPINK a few years back to the recent Billboard 200 triumphs of STRAY KIDS and TWICE, the U.S. market is very receptive to K-Pop across the board right now. Sonically, their new EP drips with the sounds that have been dominating America’s mainstream: U.K. garage and Jersey club. Couple that with their flourishes of Y2K aesthetics, sleek melodies and irresistible hooks, and you’re left with an EP that is very in tune with where American music and culture are at in 2023 while still feeling fresh.
Lyndsey Havens: I think the biggest reason is the pacing of its releases — while NewJeans didn’t overwhelm the market, the act released just enough at just consistent enough of a rate that they always stayed sort of top of mind, without ever becoming oversaturated. Its first two EPs arrived just about one year apart, and the time between was filled with one-offs like “Ditto” “OMG” and “Zero” — plus collaborations and remixes with Jon Batiste and J.I.D. And not only have they been consistent with timing, but with quality as well, which is arguably even more important.
Jason Lipshutz: NewJeans’ rapid ascent — first with songs like “OMG” and “Ditto,” and now with this chart-topping EP — is due to their combination of their K-pop fan appeal and their smart, natural deviation from traditional K-pop production. The group has been able to tap into a massive listenership while offering them something new, and reaching non-K-pop fans in the process: the video for “Super Shy,” for instance, contains the group choreography and individual personality showcases typically affiliated with a K-pop visual, but the song’s rhythmic base and shuffling hooks are just as likely to beguile R&B and hyperpop fans. NewJeans offer a new, broadly enjoyable flavor of popular music, and it’s connecting.
Andrew Unterberger: NewJeans are clearly on pop’s cutting edge for 2023 — their sound plays in any language, for any audience — and they have the songwriting, hooks and personality to back up the production. It’s a recipe for success — which, unlike with many of their peers, can already be seen in streaming hit singles as well as in robust album sales.
2. While several K-pop outfits have topped the Billboard 200 already this year, NewJeans has separated itself from the pack of rising stars by scoring a trio of Hot 100 entries already — led by Get Up’s “Super Shy,” at No. 48 this week in its third week on the listing. Do you think it will grow into an even bigger pop hit, or is this the best showing it will likely have?
Rania Aniftos: It’s probably just the beginning. Now that the album has topped the Billboard 200, even more potential fans will get introduced to the group and check out their music. “Super Shy” is such a fun song, so I can’t imagine that NewJeans fans won’t continue to boost its success.
Kyle Denis: I think “Super Shy” can definitely grow into a bigger pop hit. Obviously, with TikTok anything is possible, and we just saw FIFTY FIFTY make history on pop radio for South Korean all-female groups with “Cupid.” Given the heavy Jersey club influence of “Super Shy,” the song wouldn’t sound out of place next to PinkPantheress and Ice Spice’s “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” or Bad Bunny’s “Where She Goes,” so the potential for growth is certainly there.
Lyndsey Havens: I think it’s both — and that’s sort of the genius of it all. The soundtrack was so perfectly tailor-made for the film — and yet, it also stands strong on its own as original songs by Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish would sound just as at home on projects of their own. (The real test will be if Eilish live debuts “What Was I Made For” during her headlining set at Lollapalooza this weekend). Plus, having physical formats available on release date allowed people to buy in right then and there, and helped the soundtrack to exist as a separate, tangible entity.
Jason Lipshutz: I’m not sure exactly how high it will climb, but “Super Shy” is one of the most immediately enchanting pop singles of the year — catchy, bubbly, carrying a sense of space and a feeling of intimacy. The recent success of FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid” makes me feel even more bullish that K-pop singles can cross over to U.S. top 40 radio — a platform that has generally shrugged off tracks by non-stadium headliners — and I think “Super Shy” will make some inroads at pop stations in order to enter the top 40 of the Hot 100.
Andrew Unterberger: They’ll get one soon enough. “Super Shy” seems like a good bet to be that official crossover breakthrough, but if it’s not this one it’ll probably be another within a year’s time.
3. Meanwhile, Barbie posts the best single-week number for a soundtrack since 2019. Is that mostly just a function of how big the accompanying movie has already become, or do you think the soundtrack establishes a character of its own as a full listen?
Rania Aniftos: Both! In my experience, I listened to the soundtrack because I was so excited about living the Barbie fantasy, but then realized that there are some really good songs on there that stand perfectly on their own without the movie’s context. I find myself listening to some of the soundtrack’s hits on repeat even though the Barbie hype is starting to subside, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.
Kyle Denis: As a complete package, I’m not crazy about the Barbie soundtrack. Nonetheless, there are enough songs on the album that double as memorable and pivotal moments in the film for the soundtrack to stick. Obviously, the record-breaking success of the film helped these first-week numbers, but with four tracks — “Barbie World,” “Dance the Night,” “Speed Drive” and “What Was I Made For?” — growing into legitimate streaming and radio hits, I anticipate some impressive stability for the soundtrack’s consumption numbers in the weeks to come.
Lyndsey Havens: I think it will continue to grow, especially following the EPs impressive debut week. And while NewJeans has already explored the remix format, “Super Shy” seems like an ideal follow-up — and I would imagine the list of artists willing to hop on is quite long by now.
Jason Lipshutz: My wife and I were driving around the other day, listening to the Today’s Top Hits playlist on Spotify, and “Barbie World” played back-to-back with “Dance the Night” — a pretty good sign for a big-budget soundtrack! The success of the Barbie film, which has practically become a cultural phenomenon, obviously boosted the debut sales week of its accompanying album, but the main reason why the soundtrack has done so well is because it has hits that can stand on their own. Some function within the context of the Barbie film more than others, but when you have big artists delivering their A-games and scoring real chart achievements, your soundtrack is going to do big numbers.
Andrew Unterberger: The soundtrack is a very fun and fairly coherent listen front to back — not every song is a gem, but every song keeps the momentum up, and a handful of tracks do feel like real hits. As someone who still hasn’t seen the Barbie movie (I know, I know, I’ll get to it soon enough), if I was at a party or in a car ride and someone threw on the soundtrack, I’d still be able to enjoy myself pretty thoroughly — a rarity for OSTs in 2023, to be sure.
4. Barbie also claims six songs on the Hot 100 this week: Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s Aqua-featuring “Barbie World” (No. 8), Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night” (No. 12), Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” (No. 18), Charli XCX’s “Speed Drive” (No. 73) and Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” (No. 87). Which of the bunch, if any, do you think makes for the best listening when removed from the larger Barbie context?
Rania Aniftos: I’m torn between “Dance the Night” and “What Was I Made For.” As we’ve seen with “Levitating,” Dua knows how to keep a disco-pop track on the charts, on the radio, in the clubs and basically anywhere you can listen to music. “Dance the Night” is very similar to me, so I’m guessing it will have a similar impact. Meanwhile, I’ve already been seeing “What Was I Made For” striking a chord with listeners on TikTok, as this new generation of music listeners seem to be more existential. They’re connecting the songs with their own experiences of feeling used or unseen for who they truly are, and I think the song is going to stick around for a while.
Kyle Denis: “Barbie World” is such a fun flip of the Aqua sample that you can’t help but bop along, but, for me, the real star of the soundtrack is Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” It’s an absolutely devastating ballad that boasts the best placement in the film, but the lyrics and production of the song are just as effective when removed from the context of Barbie. Sure, it’s a bit of a heavy song for the summertime, but you can’t deny its greatness. Then again, if you’ve truly tapped into the Kenergy within you, Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” is always a great listen.
Lyndsey Havens: Personally, I have not been able to stop listening to “I’m Just Ken” — like really, it’s becoming an issue. But that song is arguably the most tied to the film… as is “Barbie World.” Which is why, I think, “Dance the Night” and “Made For” have been the most affecting for me; Both sound like they could have been left on the cutting room floor of Future Nostalgia and Happier Than Ever, respectively. But in the context of the film, they also sound like they were only made with Barbie in mind. That kind of duality — to resonate with something so specific and so universal all at once — is why I think those two songs will keep climbing.
Jason Lipshutz: “Dance the Night,” for sure. Maybe the Barbie single isn’t Dua Lipa’s strongest glittery disco-pop single to date, but I’ll be damned if we weren’t starving for a new glittery disco-pop Dua Lipa single, now nearly three and a half years removed from the release of Future Nostalgia. The song has grown on me, sounds great on pop radio, possesses one of the best bridges of any hit single this year, and will keep performing well whenever the Barbie hype starts to dissipate.
Andrew Unterberger: It’s almost comical to me how good “What Was I Made For?” is — Billie and Finneas could’ve very easily phoned in their Barbie ballad, but instead reached so deep inside with this one that it sounds like a particularly emotionally wrought therapy session. Given how relatively uncommercial the song is and how much listeners are still responding to it, you can tell that it’s resonating far beyond the Barbieverse.
5. It hasn’t always been the most exciting year for new pop blood on the charts, but the combo of NewJeans and the Barbie hits is one of the better infusions we’ve had in a bit. What other pop artist, currently scheduled (strictly or loosely) for an upcoming 2023 release, are you most excited to hear a new album from this year?
Rania Aniftos: Olivia Rodrigo, of course. She’s coming to save 2023 pop. Trust me.
Kyle Denis: I’m very excited for the upcoming records from Reneé Rapp (Snow Angel) and Holly Humberstone (Paint My Bedroom Black).
Lyndsey Havens: Well, we already got a new album from Posty, so even if we call it here and now I’m ending the year on a high. That said, I’ve been listening to a lot of Selena Gomez lately and would be excited about a new album from her… And then, of course, there’s Ariana. Perhaps with production paused for Wicked she’ll venture back into the studio… There’s certainly a lot of inspiration for another hit (or several) these days.
Jason Lipshutz: “Rush” has me buzzing with anticipation for the new Troye Sivan album, which is due out in October. Could he finally cross over as a hitmaker? How many songs will approach the sky-high quality of that lead single? I’m amped to see what Sivan has in store, and what he can accomplish commercially.
Andrew Unterberger: It’s been a long road to Chappell Roan’s debut album, and you just hope that it gets the attention it’s sure to deserve as one of the year’s most fun and funniest pop sets.
