== ROUND 6 - RESULTS ==Welcome to the sixth elimination ceremony. By the end of today, only 8 of you will remain in the competition.
Without further ado, the FCO for this round is…
MAYMAN!ASAP Rocky feat. Drake, 2 Chainz, & Kendrick Lamar - "F**kin' Problems"
Another winning song for you!So far you've had a far better run than you had in previous seasons you played in. Will this turnaround stay until the end? This is a great round for you. You're the only one without a score lower than 7.5.
Reputainbow: "I remember not liking this 10 years ago (and the same probably goes for RYM users at the time, which likely explains why it qualifies for this round) when I first started watching Billboard Hot 100 videos on YouTube, but I was literally 12. Thankfully at 22 I can now say this goes off. I kind of forgot Drake was on this song." (7.7) Aero: "The first definitive pick that came to my mind. this is great, really. the usual criticisms I see for it are just so shallow (and possibly fueled by the song's mainstream success? after all, it's not that different from some bolded rap singles of its time)" (8.1) Trilogy: "Add this to the list of songs that wouldn't be anywhere close below 3.20 today, right at the top too lol. Cool huge jam, everyone does good here." (8.5) MoD: ""AKA Benz is to me just a car" is the best bar of all time." (8.7) Filthy: "Insane song. Genius Pick." (9.0) Samba: "Always been a banger. Middle school samba was shaking ASS to this song. Still remains a bop to me." (8.7) Dremolus: "this song is so relatable. I too have problems, and it's this bitch @hamed still being here through FRAUD, we know this crusty bitch should've gone out in the qualifiers" (7.6) M5: "Not the best from any of these acts but it's always been a solid bop." (7.5) JUDGES: 65.8 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 67.8
The second best is…
HAMED!Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin - "Don't You Worry Child"
You and Mayman seems to be playing a game of musical chairs for the top spot these past couple weeks. Impressive job again.
Reputainbow: "This is actually my first time listening to the full-length 6 minute 43 second version of this song, and I don’t know I’ve been listening to the radio edit this whole time because the longer version makes the song sound a lot more epic. This would’ve been a hell of a song to close their career off with if they didn’t make their return two years ago." (8.3) Aero: "This sort of mid-10's EDM was so heavy-handed with how desperately it wanted you to FEEL the DEPTH and EMOTION in every word. this song definitely suffers from that, though at its core, it's well made enough that I give it a pass." (6.0) Trilogy: "I had a (what was intended to be) humorous thing to say about how I got to listen to this song through the playlist (or rather, how I didn't) but I'm not going to get any other chance to say how I feel towards this without any nonsense after years of being open as a SHM enjoyer. I fully believe that this is the crux of music I've listened to. Having known this song at all is what made me how I am today. I'd say it's larger than being personally significant in how I receive it, I don't think I could write about my life precisely without jotting down its existence. It's all I want in general boxed in one piece of media." (10) MoD: "I don't think this type of EDM has aged well at all, and the lyrics are pretty corny, but I can't bring myself to give it any lower rating, the nostalgia is pretty strong on this one." (7.7) Filthy: "This EDM era was special. The lyrics are always written so they seem oh so deep and powerful. But it’s really just what sounded good for the swedes. It’s the avicii syndrome." (7.0) Samba: "Is it a crime admitting this is the first time I listen to the full version? Anyways, this is an iconic single that defines an entire era of pop music and I respect it a lot for that even if it's aged a *bit* on me over the years. It deserves better recognition than what it gets." (8.0) Dremolus: "This flood of dopamine in the brain’s reward circuit strongly reinforces drug-taking behaviors. With continued drug use, the reward circuit may adapt, becoming less sensitive to the drug. As a result, people take stronger and more frequent doses in an attempt to feel the same high, and to obtain relief from withdrawal." (7.7) M5: "BANGERRRRRRR." (9.0) JUDGES: 63.7 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0 WEEKLY SCORE: 65.7
The third best is…
WALT!Ellie Goulding - "Something In The Way You Move"
So consistent! You've been silently showing up to the frontrunners of the season.
Reputainbow: "‘Delirium’ hasn’t aged the best for me, but this has always been a gem and my favorite on that album. I honestly kind of agree with the RYM comments that it sounds like a Carly Rae Jepsen song, but there’s nothing wrong with that. What a bop." (8.6) Aero: "Despite so many of the CHR hits I enjoyed best around 2015 aging like milk, this one holds up decently well. sorta dated, maybe, but the bittersweet euphoric vibe works here." (7.1) Trilogy: "Those whoops belong to a different song and the chorus isn't anything I would've let conceptualized myself, but it's a good effort from her, out this era specifically." (7.8) MoD: "The chorus is quite good, but I feel like the rest of the song falls flat in comparison. Still a pretty good listen overall." (6.7) Filthy: "I found it pretty generic. It’s a solid radio track though. Like when you’re at a Mall in Italy in the summer where it’s really hot but the AC makes it ok. That’s where this song should be played." (6.0) Samba: "Criminal ratings from RYM here. This is literally an Emotiontrack. (Okay probably more of a Side B track but it still passes as an CRJ cut)." (8.6) Dremolus: "mother cunt slay bussy khia hit icon birthed oh my god changed the culture reset the culture" (9.4) M5: "Not a Ellie Goulding fan at all but this one is solid." (7.9) JUDGES: 62.1 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 64.1
Next…
DISTRICTMaroon 5 - "Makes Me Wonder"
Reputainbow: "Easily my favorite Maroon 5 song. It’s quite sad how soulless the rest of their future discography became, because this is just so much brighter and funkier than everything else I’ve heard from them. Great chorus too. Also lmfao I guess this is about the Iraq War???" (8.2) Aero: "TIL this is supposed to have a political message. the fact that it's the top descriptor, lol. anyway, this has always stood out as a highlight in their catalog, and still does so even with my enjoyment of some of their earlier hits waning." (7.1) Trilogy: "Every Maroon 5 hit has fizzled out from my enjoyment, I would say. This doesn't get any of the worst of it, good pop band qualities are still around in this one. I'm just left with nothing to say or take from it." (6.2) MoD: "Yeah I love this track. That chorus is just too good and the whole song matches that energy." (9.0) Filthy: "One of the better Maroon 5 songs. That doesn’t say much though." (6.8) Samba: "One of their few genuine bangers. And what a BANGER this is. Undeniably a jam, timeless, and such a fun song to sing along to." (9.2) Dremolus: "white men funk traumatizes me, I'm telling my therapist you're the cause of my anguish" (4.8) M5: "Masterpiece. Literally everything about this song is absolutely incredible. It's not one of Maroon 5s absolute best but still a masterpiece nonetheless." (10) JUDGES: 61.3 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 63.3
Next…
BBTove Lo - "Talking Body"
Reputainbow: "This song just instantly transports me back to 2015. I probably shouldn’t have loved a song this sexual at my age when it was playing all over the radio when it was a hit lol. The melody for “If you love me right, We fuck for life” is just so satisfying to me and always a personal highlight whenever I listen. Tove has gone on to make even better songs, but I’ve always really loved this one." (8.6) Aero: "It does sound quite 2014, but it has that distinct Tove Lo quality that made me a fan in the first place." (7.0) Trilogy: (8.0) MoD: "I get the Habits hype, but this one just feels generic to me, not the biggest fan." (5.5) Filthy: "Ooohh sexy sex song." (5.0) Samba: "I was embarrassed to recall the things I did to this song... anyways. Still one of the best songs to become a hit in the last decade. Perfect pop banger." (9.0) Dremolus: "this music for tw!nks like @walt and we need them stopped before they can continue with this agenda" (8.8) M5: "I'm definitely not a fan of Tove Lo but this is easily her best song. This song is pure greatness." (9.5) JUDGES: 61.4 | ROLEPLAY: 1.2
WEEKLY SCORE: 62.6
Next…
LYHOMRihanna - "Don't Stop The Music"
Reputainbow: "This song reminds me of staying up way too late talking to my online friends in high school. Good times. I remember when I used to consider this one of my favorite songs EVER, which I think is a little extreme in hindsight, but I can’t lie when I say I still really love this." (8.7) Aero: "Never has been one of my absolute top favorites from Rih, but it's a fun and simple bop that surprisingly has barely aged." (7.2) Trilogy: "A lot of her best melodies (and Soul Makossa) she's sung are here, I always wished I got more out of it though. At one point this was my favorite song from the GGGB era." (7.9) MoD: "This is just a standard 2000s club pop track to me, I don't outright dislike it but it feels uninspired. Now SUAD that's a banger." (5.5) Filthy: "It’s a recurrent theme that most of these songs could be or have been radio hits. This is a banger though." (7.5) Samba: "It's never one of my favourite singles from her but it's Rihanna and it's a jam. I wish I had experienced how fun this would be at parties then maybe I'd like it even more, lol. Anyways, it's fun on its own." (7.7) Dremolus: "https://academy.binance.com/en" (6.8) M5: "Definitely one of Rihannas weaker singles but still pretty damn good." (7.8) JUDGES: 59.1 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 61.1
The last name to escape the bottom two is…
WHEATMelanie C - "I Turn To You"
Reputainbow: "I knew I recognized this title, since the acoustic version was sent last season. This original is a pretty nice discovery, even though I wish I liked it just a little more. I think the outro goes on a little too long." (7.4) Aero: "I did previously have a lot of nostalgic attachment to this, and I still do some, though it is the kind of song where, in spite of my enjoyment, I recognize I wouldn't think much of it if I were just discovering it now." (6.8) Trilogy: "It just wants to make me come back to Take Me Away by 4 Strings frankly. The western turmoil sound that's injected into this and was essentially the norm then doesn't transcribe into an object of interest this think it is, and shame because I do think there's something better that wasn't discovered during the making." (5.9) MoD: "It's not obnoxious or anything, but I don't think it's any interesting at all." (5.0) Filthy: "Might be the most unique pick here. The instrumental is cool, but I’m not a fan of the vocal delivery." (6.2) Samba: "This is definitely better than the random acoustic version sent last season. This is how the song was supposed to sound. Nice production choice, though I feel her vocals might be too thin here. However it's minor since the production is great, the trance outro is great." (7.5) Dremolus: "she shounds like Bjonks" (8.2) M5: "This is solid tbh. Not a lot to say here." (7.0) JUDGES: 54.0 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 56.0
Which means the bottom two is…
RECORDYEAR & WOODS

The last person to make it to the next round is... RECORDYEARLCD Soundsystem - "Drunk Girls"
Reputainbow: "I mean, it’s not “I Can Change”, but this isn't too bad. It’s held back a little by the title being repeated over and over again, but I liked this a little more than I expected to." (7.0) Aero: "Certainly easier to dislike than most any other LCD song, and certainly not nearly as amazing, though given the nature of their genre, of course they're gonna have some sleazy fun every once in a while." (7.8) Trilogy: "I already had an idea of how this song is generally seen after listening to This Is Happening in full some time back, those outpoints reciprocate themselves back into in this listen. For what it's worth it's enjoyable if you don't monumentally stand it with every other song out of this batch." (7.1) MoD: "Great song, really fun, and I think people know how much I like LCD Soundsystem." (8.7) Filthy: (6.5) Samba: "This is pretty fun, pretty catchy, but this does feel like a lesser LCD track. It's good but pretty standard." (6.5) Dremolus: "why is he yelling at me? I didn't do anything. I'm more into e-cigarettes, even though I don't like smoking, I like the aroma though, I don't like when the smell sticks to my clothes. My friends" (7.2) M5: "Sorry but this was just annoying. No other words." (1.0) JUDGES: 51.8 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 53.8
OVERALL SCORE: 373.7
You were doing so well... now that we are entering the halfway point you need to go back to how you were doing.
Which means...
WOODS, I'm sorry but you've been eliminated.
Portugal. The Man - "Feel It Still"
Reputainbow: "I remember being very meh about this song in 2017, and didn’t quite understand why all the review channels I watched at the time put it in their best hits of the year list. I’ve slightly warmed up to it, but it’s still very car commercial-core." (6.7) Aero: "Still decent, though the mid-10's alt "I'm edgy because I listen to real music on the rock station instead of pop shit" energy is very apparent." (6.4) Trilogy: "How I always avoided trying to remember this song with every mention P.TM sustained. The rebelliousness in its message here comes out aseptic with the actual sound of the piece of work this is. I bet they include this at their end of their performances so they can get away from acknowledging it in their heads." (4.5) MoD: "I know it may sound dated, but I still think it's a really enjoyable track. Plus, I've always liked his voice." (8.5) Filthy: I was obsessed with this. Not anymore I’m not, but it’s still a fun song. It’s somewhat simplistic but still does a lot, both good and bad. I’ve always really enjoyed the vocals on here for some reason." (7.0) Samba: "A good jam. I can't un-think of it as a commercial song but it's still a pretty good one to jam to. I was expecting it to age badly since I haven't heard it for a long time but it's actually still a fun listen." (7.3) Dremolus: "получи жизнь, неудачник" (6.3) M5: "I've never liked this song." (4.7) JUDGES: 51.4 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 53.4
OVERALL SCORE: 357.9
I'm always happy to see people return and play my game again, and I'm excited to see you and looking forward for you to slay. That didn't seem to happen but I very much enjoy your participation and some original choices you had. Thank you for playing!

While the next interview is still in the works, here's round 5's exit interview with dremolus - solarpunk! samo: hi drem! how did you feel about your time in Last Stand?
drem: I had a fun time, it's always fun being in these regular games with the other pulse members 😄...BUT you know and I know I should've gone the distance. I won't say who (yet) but there's clearly a conspiracy against me, I should still be in, it should be the finals, and I should be champion!
samo: having received insider info i can confirm that you...could be correct! stay tuned to find out 👀 how did you expect to do going into this round?
drem: It was harder than expected I'll be honest. Some words I completely forgot about were eligible (maybe this is how they wanted me out early...). But I did my best and if Neighborhood #1 wasn't taken I'd still be in.
samo: ouch, it always hurts getting a song taken that does better than yours what else were you thinking of sending for this round? (aside from Neighborhood #1 obviously)
drem: I had Fluorescent Adolescent and Faceshopping as my backup, I thought Everlasting Love would've been a safer choice
samo: (trying to check something on pulse but it's stopped, give me a second) both bangers! FA probably would've been my favourite song in the set had it been sent where did you expect to finish at the start of the season?
drem: if I had to (unwillingly) go out, I would've hoped it'd be in the Top 5. I still had fun though! 😊
samo: that's good to hear! if you were still in, what do you think you would've sent for round 6? (songs with a rating lower than 3.20 on RYM)
drem: I've Been Lost for So Long by American Football is a dear favorite to me but if I had to pick, Feels by Calvin Harris, More Than You Know by Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Judas/Million Reasons by Lady Gaga (one of these would've been my pick), or Burn by Ellie Goulding
samo: idk that first one but the rest seem like good picks, i would've scored Judas and Burn very highly who do you think has the best chance of winning, and who are you rooting for?
drem: I think wheat and recordyear have really shown they've got the hunger and the will to make it to the finals. As for who I'm rooting for well last time who I said immediately went out so...walt, Hamed, go kill u flops 😘
samo: lmao and who do you think could be leaving next?
drem: I'm feeling generous and won't curse anyone this time. I hope to enjoy the entertainment however. Mice can make a good show y'know, especially when you light a fire behind them.
samo: that feels threatening 💀 what do you think about returning? would you want to bless us with your taste as a judge or give it another shot as a contestant?
drem: I'm more than down to be a judge again however if the opportunity to re-enter the competition comes, well wouldn't it be wasteful not to take something that's yours?
samo: and would you want to be a contestant on a future season?
drem: oh of course! You can never have too many crowns
samo: so true. any final comments on the season?
drem:
samo: kylie my beloved 💜 thanks for doing this interview drem!
